English Gardner: Everything That Glitters Isn't Gold

Olympic gold medalist THE English Gardner joins Ready Set Go for one of the rawest, funniest, and most powerful conversations we’ve had yet. From being discovered as a kid running in basketball shoes, to becoming a five-time NCAA champion at Oregon, to winning a U.S. title and running 10.74 at the Olympic Trials, English’s story is not the clean, perfect highlight reel people think they know. She opens up about the ACL injury that nearly ended her college dream, her mother’s battle with stage 4 breast cancer, the pressure of turning pro, training under John Smith, the dark mental health battle she faced in 2016, and the torn meniscus she carried all the way to Olympic gold. Then she takes us inside one of the wildest moments in Olympic history: the 2016 Team USA women’s 4x100 relay, the dropped baton, the protest, running alone in lane one, stolen spikes, a bad knee, and still walking away with gold. This is English Gardner like you’ve never heard her before: hilarious, brutally honest, spiritual, competitive, emotional, and still every bit the dog.Tap in for a real conversation about Track & Field, survival, greatness, faith, coaching, and what it actually takes to keep going when everything goes wrong.Featuring Justin Gatlin, Rodney Green, and English Gardner.
