ParaRealilty Flashback: St. Germain

Season 1, Episode 10 — Originally Aired April 23, 2004

Diplomat. Adventurer. Alchemist. Occultist. Immortal?

In this edition of ParaReality Flashback, we travel back to April 23, 2004, and one of the earliest mysteries explored on the podcast: the extraordinary legend of the Count of Saint Germain.

Appearing among the royal courts and aristocracy of 18th-century Europe, Saint Germain was said to possess remarkable knowledge of languages, music, chemistry, diplomacy, and the occult. His origins were mysterious, his wealth seemed almost limitless, and perhaps most strangely of all, those who encountered him claimed that the man simply didn't seem to age.

But Saint Germain's legend didn't end with his reported death in 1784. Stories of encounters with the mysterious Count continued, eventually transforming him from an enigmatic historical figure into one of the most fascinating characters in Western occult tradition.

Was Saint Germain an extraordinarily talented adventurer whose exploits grew into legend? A brilliant confidence man? A master alchemist who discovered something others could not? Or could there be something behind the centuries-old claims that the "Immortal Count" somehow conquered time itself?

More than twenty-two years after this episode first aired, return with Sandman to the early days of ParaReality and rediscover the enduring mystery of Saint Germain.
