OM DENNE EPISODE
Let's Think About "Post-Traumatic Growth" With Special Guest Alisa Gracheva
What if surviving something painful isn't the end of the story—and what if growth can emerge from places we never wanted to go?
In this deeply meaningful episode of Mitzi, Let’s Think About It, Mitzi welcomes special guest Alisa Gracheva for an honest and thought-provoking conversation about post-traumatic growth, resilience, healing, transformation, and the unexpected ways people can change after experiencing adversity.
When we experience something deeply painful, we often focus on what was lost, what was broken, and what may never be the same again.
But there is another question worth exploring:
What can grow from what we've been through?
Post-traumatic growth doesn't mean that trauma was good, necessary, or something we should be grateful for. It doesn't erase pain, minimize suffering, or suggest that someone should simply “move on.”
Instead, it explores the possibility that some people can experience positive psychological change after adversity—developing new perspectives, deeper relationships, greater appreciation for life, personal strength, or a renewed sense of purpose.
Mitzi and Alisa explore this powerful concept while inviting listeners to reflect on their own experiences with hardship, change, and resilience.
Together, they consider:
-
What is post-traumatic growth?
-
How is growth different from simply “getting over” something?
-
Can difficult experiences change the way we see ourselves and our lives?
-
How can adversity reshape our priorities and relationships?
-
Where can meaning and purpose emerge after hardship?
-
Why shouldn't we confuse healing with forgetting?
-
Can we grow while still acknowledging that something hurt us deeply?
As always, Mitzi, Let’s Think About It creates space for conversations that go beyond easy answers and invite listeners to connect with both their minds and their hearts.
Because healing isn't always about returning to who you were before.
Sometimes it's about discovering who you can become afterward.
