00:00:01
Speaker 1: What made this game so successful for you tonight to get the two touchdowns?
00:00:05
Speaker 2: You know, I think just my goal every week is just do my job. Whatever they ask of me each and every week, I just want to do it well. And, you know, I'm thankful for the opportunities that occurred today. What did you see while you were out there? Just, you know, honestly what we practiced. You know, I give credit to the coaches for the looks that they gave us. And, you know, I felt like we were well prepared and we executed to our standard today.
00:00:27
Speaker 1: You guys were just totally in sync offensively, especially in the first half.
00:00:31
Speaker 2: Why was that? You know, just kind of going back to we executed the way we know how to to our standard. And that was a big emphasis this week. And, you know, I think there's always things to to improve, you know, and we'll go back and look at how we can be better and try to build on this momentum. But, you know, I really do think we came out and We played to our standard, and it was fun to see. Matthew Stafford is the only quarterback in the NFL to lead two separate franchises in touchdown passes. What's it like for you to.
00:01:02
Speaker 1: Catch some of those?
00:01:04
Speaker 2: Man, it's an honor. I'm super thankful to be a part of a team like this, number one, and to have him as a quarterback. I am truly thankful, and I don't take it for granted, for sure, just to be a part of his journey. First touchdown came off of a play action.
00:01:23
Speaker 3: How are you guys kind of able to activate some of the pass game off the run today?
00:01:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. I think, you know, the run game was a big emphasis this week. And because of that, because of the execution in the run game, it opened up opportunities off the play action, like you said. And so, you know, I think we did a good job in the run game today and that opened up some doors for us in the pass game.
00:01:44
Speaker 1: Davis, what does a win like this do for you guys moving forward?
00:01:47
Speaker 2: You know, I think we can just build on the momentum. You know, we started some momentum today, obviously, and we just need to go back to the drawing board and see how we can build on this and keep going.
00:01:59
Speaker 3: I'm just trying to run a deceleration after guys that kind of tapped off on the play. I'm like, I just planted and just felt something in my lower calf.
00:02:06
Speaker 2: Do you have imaging done?
00:02:08
Speaker 3: Yep.
00:02:08
Speaker 2: And it showed that it was something minor?
00:02:11
Speaker 3: Yeah, something in, I'm not sure the exact muscle, but in the lower calf. I'm excited to go out there and play football. I think I try to mentally prepare and say that I'm full focus and being able to play in the game and kind of letting some of those worries and fears go out.
00:02:25
Speaker 2: Are you still playing through the hip issue, or is that kind of gone? It seems like you're managing a couple different things here now.
00:02:32
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm like, I definitely try to stay warm on the sidelines. But I'm like, I think, yeah, just trying to figure out how I can best feel out there on Sunday and doing everything I can. Critical moments where we can capitalize. There are some times we put our defense back out there in sudden change, and we had the ability to respond, and the defense did a great job. But we can minimize those self-afflicting wounds and stay in rhythm so that second half doesn't feel like there's a lull where we're trying to find energy.
00:02:55
Speaker 1: What was it like? How are the teams?
00:02:57
Speaker 2: Coming back from those mistakes that kind of hurt the team in previous weeks?
00:03:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the steadiness. I'm like the eyes staying forward and ready to lock in for the next play. I think the communication and the excitement of the challenge, I think, from both sides. With defense, I'm obviously sudden change with them having fourth down stops and us being able to go out there. But us having some of those turnovers, they're doing a great job of not flinching when we go out there and just being prepared to play ball.
00:03:20
Speaker 1: What was it like seeing Davis catch those two touchdowns?
00:03:23
Speaker 3: It was fun. Every time we get out there, we're putting these guys in difficult situations, putting them in their run conflict. So when any of those guys in that tight end room get out there, it's always fun to see them in that zone.
00:03:34
Speaker 1: Puka, last week you said you wanted to see the team get back to its physicality.
00:03:40
Speaker 2: That's the identity of this team. What do you think about today's performance?
00:03:43
Speaker 1: Were you guys able to get back to that?
00:03:45
Speaker 3: I think so. I think being able to stay ahead of the sticks, I think, allows us to get down there and say that, hey, you know we're going to run the ball and we're going to line up and we're going to find a way to hit everybody. And our backs do a great job of fighting through that first tackle. So it feels good to kind of hit guys at the line of scrimmage and know that they know that we're coming right at them. So being at the point of attack is something that we pride ourselves in, in the wide receiver room, and then also following those tight ends to make it real easy.
00:04:09
Speaker 1: And shout out to the coaches and everybody for having a good game. I felt like we trusted it. It was a really good one. We did exactly what we needed to do.
00:04:17
Speaker 2: We weren't making any step up.
00:04:18
Speaker 1: And I think that's a big credit to.
00:04:20
Speaker 2: Can you talk about the two fourth down, big.
00:04:23
Speaker 1: Crazy guys when you keep the game on? Yeah, we always talk about it. Make them snap it one more time. And for us, we've been in situations where they couldn't hurt it in the past. Just reminding the guys that it takes all of us.
00:04:37
Speaker 2: If we do.
00:04:38
Speaker 1: Our 111, we'll be okay. Guys, a lot of guys, a lot of guys that were young and don't have a lot of experience were in there and making plays, and it was fun to see. At the end of the day, my job is to help them be able to make those plays and put them in.
00:04:53
Speaker 3: The right position to make those plays.
00:04:55
Speaker 1: It was fun having a green dot. As a DB, it's kind of hard having that, but it was fun too. So shout out to everybody. They played awesome.
00:05:01
Speaker 3: It was fun.
00:05:02
Speaker 1: Thank you, man. Yeah, it says everything.
00:05:03
Speaker 2: I think, honestly, and it's tough to say, but we play our best when our back's against the wall.
00:05:20
Speaker 1: When your back's against the wall, the only thing that you can do is move forward. And I think everybody understood that. Do we want to be in those situations? Of course not. But we're in it, we live in it, we understand it, and we've been able to take steps in.
00:05:32
Speaker 3: The right direction to be able to keep it going.
00:05:34
Speaker 1: And that was a huge win. They're a great team. They've done really, really good things, greater time over the course of the season. But, you know, for us it was just be courageous, trust in the preparation, trust in practice. I think, honestly, the reason why we were so successful was we had our best week of practice this week. It was, you know, it was so obvious for us. I said, you know, we're going to go out there and make some plays.
Speaker 1: What made this game so successful for you tonight to get the two touchdowns?
00:00:05
