OM DENNE EPISODE
Christian leaders often assume greater influence comes through greater strength. Scripture repeatedly shows the opposite: before God expands a leader's usefulness, He often allows seasons that expose weakness, dismantle self-reliance, and deepen dependence on Him.
In this episode, I explore why some of the Bible's most effective leaders first walked through failure, discouragement, waiting, weakness, or obscurity.
Moses spent forty years in the wilderness before leading Israel. Jeremiah remained faithful through rejection and discouragement. Peter's confidence collapsed after denying Christ, yet Jesus restored him and recommissioned him. Paul learned that God's power is made perfect in weakness.
Their stories reveal an important biblical leadership principle:
God often does His deepest work in leaders before He does His greatest work through them.
In this episode, you'll discover:
- Why self-reliance can quietly undermine Christian leadership
- How seasons of failure and waiting can become tools of spiritual formation
- Why discouragement does not necessarily mean God has abandoned your calling
- How failure can produce humility, compassion, and wisdom
- Why weakness can become the place where God's strength is most visible
- How broken leaders learn to depend on God rather than themselves
This episode is especially relevant for leaders in business, ministry, churches, nonprofits, teams, and families who are walking through disappointment, criticism, uncertainty, failure, or prolonged waiting.
Biblical leadership is not about appearing strong enough to handle everything on your own. It is about allowing God to reshape your heart until your confidence rests more fully in Him.
Moses, Jeremiah, Peter, and Paul remind us that brokenness does not have to disqualify a leader.
In God's hands, it can become preparation.
So if you are walking through a difficult season, consider this possibility:
God may not be setting you aside. He may be preparing you for greater usefulness.
