OM DENNE EPISODE
What happens when everyday products stop working for the people who need them most?
Douglas Katz is a West Point graduate, disabled Army veteran, inventor, and entrepreneur who has made it his mission to design practical tools that restore independence without sacrificing dignity.
His journey led to NULU, an adaptive kitchen knife designed to give people with joint, strength, or mobility challenges greater control with less strain.
But behind the invention is a much bigger story.
Doug’s own physical limitations and experience caring for his father showed him how poorly many everyday products serve people who are aging, injured, disabled, or simply adapting to changes in their bodies.
In this episode of Human Enough, we explore inclusive design, aging, disability, caregiving, independence, military experience, innovation, and the question of why so many products are designed without considering the people who actually need them.
