A&B Edition: Easter

This week the girls take aim at... Easter

In the third installment of the FNWF A &B edition, Bianca and Amy take a closer look at the widely celebrated holiday of Easter!

Amy kicked us off by explaining the origins of Easter and how her family celebrated the holiday when she was growing up.

Bianca stumbled across an interesting Easter holiday tradition whilst researching this topic. An initial scan of an article Bianca unearthed thanks to Google, made her think that the humble country of Norway had a deep-rooted real crime tradition over the Easter period. Purge, anyone?

On closer inspection, our Norwegian friends have a deep-rooted crime fiction tradition over the Easter holiday which involves holidays in log cabins and evenings watching or reading crime fiction. Sounds like bliss!

Amy then finished us off by discussing the origins of both the Easter Bunny and the chocolate Easter egg. Amy also discussed how, as children, we never questioned the origin of either tradition even though it is quite absurd that a giant rabbit would appear in the night and leave you chocolate on a date that was ever-changing each year. Weird right?!
