OM DENNE EPISODE
Where's the best hospital in the Las Vegas area? Chris Loftus, CEO of West Henderson Hospital, part of the Valley Health System, sits down with Jeff Fargo on Fargo Talks to answer the questions patients across southern Nevada actually search: how long are ER wait times, how do you compare hospitals using CMS star ratings and Leapfrog grades, what are the stroke warning signs (BE FAST), and how does hands-only CPR work.
Located in Henderson, Nevada, West Henderson Hospital draws patients from across the Las Vegas valley, from the Strip to Southern Highlands to Sun City Anthem, and from neighboring states. Chris shares how the hospital went from opening its doors to being voted gold for Best Hospital in the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Best of Las Vegas 2025, why it was built at 150 beds with a master plan to expand to 450, and the "Who Packs Your Parachute" philosophy behind its culture. He also explains why every elective surgery patient gets a personal call from a hospital executive the night before their procedure.
West Henderson Hospital is part of Valley Health System, a network of acute care hospitals, freestanding emergency departments, and behavioral health facilities serving Las Vegas, Henderson, and southern Nevada. Valley Health System's parent company is Universal Health Services (UHS), headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
