OM DENNE EPISODE
The Washington Commanders (0-1) take on the Dallas Cowboys (0-1) on the road at AT&T Stadium to kick off the regular season this Sunday at 4:25pm ET on FOX in America’s Game Of The Week! This episode features a full game preview & game predictions. We begin with the context around the game in the form of the injury report, and it is already riddled with names for the Commanders. The big names are LB Frankie Luvu and TE Chig Okonkwo, and both are going to miss the game. The Cowboys, in contrast, only have 4 names on their injury report, but 2 are missing the game in S Malik Hooker and LB DeMarvion Overshown. We begin the preview of the matchup with the Washington Commanders offense, featuring QB Jayden Daniels, against this Dallas Cowboys defense that had significant communication issues against the New York Giants in their road loss. LB Jaishawn Barham will be wearing the green dot for the Cowboys defense in place of Overshown. How will he do in his green dot debut? DB Caleb Downs is a player to watch ahead of the game, as he is deployed everywhere in new DC Christian Parker’s defense. The Cowboys also have a talented duo of DTs in Quinnen Williams and Kenny Clark, the latter being particularly excellent against the run. That said, the WRs should have opportunities to exploit this defense. Terry McLaurin and, specifically, Stefon Diggs and Antonio Williams will get chances to exploit zones that aren’t clearly covered or communicated. We then flip the script and discuss the new look Commanders defense, featuring 1st round pick Sonny Styles, against QB Dak Prescott, RB Javonte Williams, WRs CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and the rest of this high powered Cowboys offense. The Cowboys want to feature their star wide receivers as much as possible. Can we slow them down? How much will CB Mike Sainristil play this week? The Commanders are 4.5 point road underdogs with an over-under set at 50.5 points. Who do you think wins this game and who is your player of the game?A new segment called “A-Train’s Lines” features Amit picking 3 NFL games against the spread as he hopes to go 3-0 and make some listeners some money! The Comment Mailbag features 15 comments!
