Speaker 2: Wow what a day glad you're here 303-713-8255 the number dan 57739 interesting conversation i mentioned this to you because if you just joined thank you but we'll be Reading some text here, and some will refer back to Bob Chu, who joined us, and he spent over $ 3 million, broke news on the show, spent over $ 3 million of his own money pursuing the U.S. Senate seat in Colorado as an independent. And he just says that he's deeply, deeply concerned about the national debt. And I'm paraphrasing, but that we're heading off a cliff. And you know what? I don't support his idea, but at least he stepped up with the specific idea that he knew would make an awful lot of people angry and And that was, and I bet this is general description of it, that top 20% of net worth folks, when they die, 30% of their estate goes to the government to pay off the national debt. So again, I don't agree with it, but at least he puts something specific out there. And I do think he's absolutely right about one thing, and that is that we are headed for a fiscal cliff. And at this point, neither party has a good plan to avoid that. because neither party wants to be taking big things away from voters that they've gotten used to government providing. And so we are headed toward a cliff. And I think it can probably be very roughly summarized this way. You know, Republicans' solution, which I think is not going to be a complete solution, but has a far better chance to work than the left's, We know the left won't work. It never has anywhere in the world. But but Republicans is to grow our way out of it. And I do absolutely believe that there is phenomenal. You won't say unlimited, but phenomenal, enormously high ceiling opportunity for growth in this nation. If we can just correct a lot of the stuff the government's doing wrong and if we can unleash the true potential. of all the kids in this country, you know, through true equal opportunity in education. I mean, there's tremendous, tremendous upside opportunity, so it may be possible to grow our way.
00:02:26
Speaker 3: Out of it.
00:02:28
Speaker 2: But the Democrats, the Democrats' approach at this point, I think, is very clearly, and it's part of the big move towards socialism, is they're just going to take it from you. They're going to have their crew of voters. This is their plan in their minds, is they're going to have their crew of loyal voters dependent on government and or just separately committed to socialism because they're one of the privileged, protected or whatever. And then they're just going to take it from the rest. And then the country is going to collapse as we know it, which they'll be very happy with. Because then you just have a whole lot more people dependent on government. I think that is the left's plan for this nation. But with that said, let me get to some of these texts. We're continuing to play sound from the Lauren Boebert-Eileen Laubacher debate because it's one of the few meaningful debates that we've had. And credit to both for participating. A lot of credit to Lauren Boebert because she went into it two against one. I mean, that's what I think my opinion, any Republican should assume when they're going into a debate moderated by Kyle Clark. But she's fearless. It's one of the things I really like about Congresswoman Boebert. She has always just been fearless. And there was a text on this that got so many texts, but I wanted to get to this one right out of the gate. It talks about how Dan's making light of Boebert not finishing high school. What kind of pigs are these people? Wait a second, Texter. I think that helps Congresswoman Boebert. I really do. I mean, you know, I think, you know, the first question a lot of candidates should be asked is, what was your first car? What was your first car? Don't you think that should be a question asked of every candidate? What was your first car? The answer to that would be so telling. And then next obvious question, though it'll be apparent from the answer to the first question, who paid for it? That doesn't mean that some kid of rich parents who had a nice car bought for her is not going to be a great senator, congressman, whatever, president. But it's an important question to ask because I think those people who would say like, you know, I was still hitchhiking when I got my law degree. Like I was hitchhiking to court. I had one sport coat and it had a big, it looked like worm on it because it got caught when I was playing flag football. And don't ask me how that happened. I couldn't afford a new coat, so they had to sew up the top of my sport jacket. So I'd hitchhike to court, and I'd go in with a sport jacket that looked like it had a big worm on it, but it was just where we had sewn up the torn sport jacket, and I kicked ass. Oh, I kicked butt. So anyway, you know, I'd love to see that question asked, but I think when the left attacks Lauren Boebert for what they say here, and I don't know where Lauren finished educationally, but I know Abe Lincoln, what did he have, the equivalent of, like, a first-grade education and one of the smartest presidents we've ever had? So, no, I think they helped Congresswoman Boebert with that line of attack. I think people are absolutely sick of ivory tower eggheads who've never lived real life, you know, have never graduated from the University of Hard Knocks, you know, and I think people are sick of that stuff. 303-713-8255, D-A-N... 57739. Want to get to some other text? Obviously, whether you're Christian or not, Catholic or not, I hope everybody's praying for the Pope because I think he's a phenomenal world leader as a Catholic. I'm so grateful he's our Pope. And diagnosed today, I guess that nodule they pulled is cancerous. Now, we don't have access to his pathology or anything else, so we don't know the true seriousness, but that's always serious, right, when they find that. I don't believe from anything I've heard that he was ever a smoker, but my understanding is about 10 to 20% of lung cancer cases, people were not smokers. And then they picked it up some other way. Obviously age is an increasing risk factor and he's over 70, but you know how it is. You got 70 year olds who are like 40 and you've got 70 year olds who are like 140, like a Joe Biden kind of 70. But this Pope has always struck me as a really, really, really young 70. So, And I'm sure doing all the hard work that he's done throughout the world, you know, working and ministering to the poor, et cetera, probably exposed to a lot of, you know, dirty secondhand air and dirty air and everything else when, you know, he's done some of his mission work. But one way or the other, yeah, he's got lung cancer. We just don't know more details than that. So please do pray for him. The horror on the roller coaster down in Georgia, you've probably picked up on the story, at least at a headline level at this point. We have some new facts now. You probably know the gist of it, that an individual fell from a roller coaster at Six Flags in Georgia called Goliath. It peaks out at 200 feet. We know the name now of the victim, Haseen Kareem. And then just some very sad facts being reported by the media. We have We can't independently confirm that his eight-year-old son's sitting next to him on the ride when he was ejected. And this is one of those rides that has a lap bar, according to published reports, and no separate seat belt it has that lap bar. And then reportedly his wife and daughter were waiting at the bottom of the ride for he and his son to finish the ride. According to reports, he He fell on top of several other passengers on his way down. Just absolutely horrific stuff. So prayers for him as well. I'll pass along more details as we get them. Obviously, I've had a lot of inquiries and a lot of text about this because of the case that I and my colleagues handled up in Glenwood Springs, where this amazing little six-year-old girl, just the coolest little girl you could ever imagine, You know, she goes to the amusement park up there, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. This is all in the media, right? So I'm not telling anything out of school. And her parents, the most wonderful parents a child could ever have. I mean, they drive four hours to take their daughter to an amusement park because she loves amusement parks. And they go with relatives. And they were having a great day. And then they get to the last ride of the day. And the operator just didn't put her seatbelt on. And then they get this warning light. that, hey, there's a problem with the seatbelt for that seat. Went back, went back, went back, went back, never put the seatbelt on. And then they did a workaround to launch the ride. Worked around the alarm, you know, the alert to launch the ride and launched it. She didn't have her seatbelt on. Fell 10 stories to her death. Just absolutely horrific. And local jury up there, incredibly smart and hardworking, diligent, three-week trial. And justice was done. You know, it was a $ 205 million verdict, $ 123 million in punitives against the owners of Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. So, you know, it's just— and the parents, and again, this has all been public, that the parents have— been just devoted to doing everything they can, you know, to use that verdict to try to make the industry safer. And I know that verdict got the attention of the industry. We know that for a fact. We'll find out what happened down in Georgia. And, you know, we don't have any details beyond it at this point. All the normal folks are investigating, but I'll pass along details as they are reported in the media. 303-713-8255, D-A-N-5-7-7-3-9. We are blessed with such great texters. I'm going to come back. I'm going to dive into our text, play some more sound from Boebert, pardon me, Congressman Boebert and Laubacher debating. You know, one of the cool things, and I know you see this in your life, you probably see it with yourself, But one of the really cool things is to see people who started out real good, but you see them grow dramatically, like in a really challenging job. In her case, it's Congress. You know, it can be an office like a Marco Rubio that the way and I would have voted for him for president in 16. But the way he's grown over the years, I think she's grown tremendously. And I think acquitted herself just very well last night. Bill Maher. Bill Maher, an epic, instant classic rant on the Democrats. And I don't think there's a single honest Democrat who could disagree with him. You're on the Dan Kaplan Show.
00:11:28
Speaker 4: Ms.
00:11:28
Speaker 2: Boebert, a short answer here, please.
00:11:30
Speaker 5: You introduced articles of impeachment against President Biden for violating his oath by failing to secure the southern border using the same standard. Do you believe President Trump has ever violated his oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States?
00:11:42
Speaker 1: I believe that Joe Biden absolutely did when he opened up our southern borders.
00:11:46
Speaker 5: And unfortunately, would you believe that President Trump has ever violated that?
00:11:49
Speaker 6: I do not.
00:11:50
Speaker 1: I think that President Trump has secured our country.
00:11:52
Speaker 2: Ms.
00:11:52
Speaker 5: Laubacher, do you believe that President Trump has ever violated his oath to preserve, protect and defend the U.S.
00:11:57
Speaker 2: Constitution?
00:11:58
Speaker 4: I think that we are in a dangerous time and I think that it is possible that he has violated that oath. But I think that we should not be spending time trying to impeach the president when that is not what the people of this district need or deserve.
00:12:12
Speaker 2: The Boebert-Lombacher debate last night, we'll have some more sound from that. I want to get to some text, including one that was designed to anger me and it actually pleases me. because it's an opportunity to save some lives. Don in Fort Collins, you're on the Dan Kaplan Show. Welcome.
00:12:30
Speaker 3: Hi, Dan. Yeah, see, I watched some of the debate. I didn't get to watch all of it. But my only issue is this. I mean, the Democrat candidate, you know, whatever you want to call her, DSA candidate, yes, she sounds very articulate and well-educated. However, my point about that is this. You recall Tulsi Gabbard and why she left the Democrat Party?
00:12:55
Speaker 2: Can't remember the issue.
00:12:57
Speaker 1: All right.
00:12:57
Speaker 3: The issue was Nancy Pelosi called her in and said, you either vote with us on this stuff or your district's not going to get any funding. So do you believe that the DSA candidate could stand up the way Tulsi did?
00:13:11
Speaker 2: What a great question, Don. And let me let me start with the DSA candidate thing. I know Eileen Lombacher from outside of politics. She's the opposite of DSA. She's a patriot who has served this country nobly. and heroically as a rear admiral. And she comes from a family of public servants in the military. So she is a high quality individual, the opposite of DSA.
00:13:36
Speaker 3: Odd that she's in the Democrat party.
00:13:39
Speaker 2: Yeah. And let's talk about, listen, make no mistake about it. I've said a million times, if I was in CD4, I'd vote for Lauren. I'd vote for Congressman Boebert for a whole lot of different reasons, but it would not be because of Eileen Laubacher. I think she, if all Democrats were like her, this would be a much, much better nation. But you get my point.
00:14:00
Speaker 4: I do.
00:14:01
Speaker 2: I do about the Democrat Party.
00:14:03
Speaker 3: They vote lockstep with each other, or they get their funding for their district threatened. So the Republicans don't play that way. And so I just find it, I'd love to be able to believe some of these people. When you listen to them, I'd love to be able to believe their art.
00:14:21
Speaker 2: Wait a second. I don't think we even have to get there, Don, but I do want to address your good question. I think both parties make some exceptions, right? And the Democrat Party, I think, and listen, Congresswoman Boebert's going to win that race. I sure hope she does. But if by chance Eileen Laubacher did, I think the Democrats would allow her to stray just in order to keep that seat. Which leads to my bigger point. One of the thousand reasons that I would vote for Congressman Boebert if I was in CD4 is because it's so critical to keep the House majority, and if we're going to lose the House majority, which I think we are, to be able to keep those margins down as much as possible.
00:15:03
Speaker 3: You know, I'm hearing such conflicting stories. I mean, I hear you just said, you know, you think we're going to lose, but then we hear others saying the polls are a bunch of crap.
00:15:11
Speaker 2: Oh, I agree with that. I'm not sure what it is.
00:15:13
Speaker 3: Where do we go with that?
00:15:15
Speaker 2: I agree with that. I think the polls have been unreliable now since Trump came down the escalator in 16. Sure.
00:15:22
Speaker 3: I mean, you've got a whole lot of... Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is this. I believe without too many exceptions, these people will stick together like glue.
00:15:34
Speaker 2: Oh, sure they will. Because they're not bound around... I used to be a Democrat. The modern Democratic Party is not organized around any binding principles. It's organized around getting and keeping power. The only principle in the Democratic Party that everybody has to bow to, well, there are two or three, but it starts with legalized killing of children up to the moment of delivery with no restrictions whatsoever. You know, that is the altar they worship at, but beyond that, there's no binding principle, and the one binding principle they have is horrific.
00:16:11
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's horrible.
00:16:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, and oh, Don, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cut you off. Let me bring Don back.
00:16:17
Speaker 3: Go ahead.
00:16:18
Speaker 2: Don, that's why there's no excuse for the Democratic Party.
00:16:23
Speaker 3: Hold it.
00:16:24
Speaker 2: We've lost Don. That's my fault. Democratic Party holding power broadly in America because that's what I just described as a reality, not of your everyday Democrat, but of the people who hold power in the Democratic Party in America. And if we cannot persuade enough sane Democrats, and there are a lot of them, if we cannot persuade enough sane Democrats to flip and enough unaffiliated who just kind of reflexively vote Democrat to go our way or at least sit it out, then it's on us. Because most of these Democrats aren't even trying to pull the con anymore. You know, they're just open, double middle finger socialist types. Or maybe some of them are a little more subtle than that, but it's It's going to be on us. We just have to find a way. And I'm just telling you, not just because I was a Democrat for so many years that I know these things, but outside of Colorado, my family, extended family outside of Colorado, and most of them live outside of Colorado, they're all Democrats. And they're all patriots. And they all hate socialism. There are a lot of Democrats who are out there for the getting. Now, I could not point to any individual family member of mine and say that there's a real chance of converting them to vote Republican, but I do know their goodness, and I do know their core patriotic principles, and there will come a break point when you're going to have a really significant number of Democrats. If the Republicans do it right, you know, right candidates, right issues, right campaigns, you're going to have plenty of Democrats, enough Democrats. It wouldn't take that many. who are going to flip and vote Republican and just never admit it to anybody. But yeah, it's on us. 303-713-8255, D-A-N-5-7-7-3-9. You're on the Dan Kaplan Show. Hey, 535, glad you're here. You will not want to miss tomorrow's show. We're going to have a mother on, extraordinarily compelling story. You may have heard about this. There's a, A girl on a local Denver area high school volleyball team, she lost her spot on the team to a boy. Imagine that. A girl's volleyball team in high school, she lost her spot on the team to a boy. And her mother is going to join us. And it's a story I think everybody needs to hear. I mean, talk about a world gone mad when a girl can actually lose her spot on a team, on a girl's team. lose their spot to a boy just insanity so courageous mom and she will join us at four well let's see I think she's actually scheduled for 506 on Wednesday if it holds 506 tomorrow so hope you're with us for that hey if you just joined us thank you so much for talking about this afternoon we're playing sound from the Lauren Boebert Eileen Laubacher debate on KUSA last night and A lot of really impressive exchanges. I think Congresswoman Boebert, you know, she's always been a fighter, right? I mean, she pulled off the near impossible in winning that office. And I think she's just grown steadily in office and did a great job last year.
00:19:50
Speaker 1: Night.
00:19:50
Speaker 2: And she's up against a brilliant, very serious, highly accomplished opponent. And so I was just glad to see kind of, you know, two really smart people debate. So many people these days are ducking debates. Most Democrats are. And, uh, and occasionally Republicans. And those Democrats who say they'll only debate if it's moderated by Kyle Clark, that's the same as ducking debate, right? Because then, in my opinion, it's a two-on-one deal. But, yeah, I respect Congresswoman Boebert for taking the debate, and I think it's going to help her. And, you know, both acquitted themselves well. We'll continue to play that sound. Dan Lauren Boebert was awesome. She had to debate two people. Yeah, but she knew that going in. And I really respect the fact that she took that on. Dan, when Trump, uh, called Putin over the plague, he should have, uh, yeah, then it goes downhill from there, but it does get to some other Putin texts. So I'll get to the serious stuff there in a second. Uh, Dan, Dan, Dan, boy, some of these, I'm sorry. They just don't make any sense. Uh, Dan, has the Pope ever smoked? I forgive him, not that he needs it, lol. Nothing I can find suggests that the Pope had smoked. About 10 to 20 percent of all people with lung cancer never smoked, and obviously risk increases with age, and he's over 70 now. So yeah, I don't know the answer to that, just praying that they got it, and that nothing metastasized, and that there's no more, and Certainly, he looks so healthy and active, and the way they approach this surgery, I'm just hopeful and optimistic. But if you're the praying kind, please do pray. I think whether you're Catholic, Christian, atheist, whatever, he is very, very good for this world. Dan, Dem's afraid of blue dogs. You know, I don't think the Democrats are afraid of anything right now in Colorado. They're so drunk with power. I don't think they're afraid of anything, though I'll qualify that to this extent. Milat Kiros, you know, there's another text on, has Milat Kiros debated anybody? The last time I saw Milat Kiros was on the side of a milk carton. I think that with her full cooperation, I think the Dems have virtually disappeared her from the scene during the rest of the race, right? Because everybody knows she's the de facto leader, face of, voice of the Democratic Party in Colorado right now, and That's not good for some Democrats. I mean, the Democrats don't want people, the party as a whole doesn't want people to know that, yeah, they're pretty much a socialist functioning party right now. Not a lot of their voters who detest socialism, but the people who have the power and run the party, yeah, that's where they already are or where they are headed. Dan, completely absurd that Victor won't do a normal debate with Phil. That from our friend Alexa. Dan, check the Earthquake Blog's World Experts saying bigger one possible coming after today's so-called double on the Atlantic floor. You know, I do have a few, a very few redeeming features, one of which is a proven uncanny ability to occasionally predict earthquakes. I mean, it has happened twice, and the proof's on air. There have been two different times, one in Vegas. I woke up just before 7.2, woke up. I can remember it like it was lunch. And it's perfectly still. Big wind comes up. And then the Tropicana just rocked. And so I'm on air back to Denver before it's being reported almost anywhere. Second one, I've told the story on air. I won't tell it again too much. Yeah, I will. But second one, you know, Amy and I were out in California. And I tell her the night before, there's going to be an earthquake in the morning. Here's what you do to be safe. Sure enough, I wake up. Big one hits. Killed a bunch of people. Big one hits. And we're on air in Denver with it. Gus Merkis. You remember Gus Merkis, right, Shannon? Gus Merkis, Colorado Morning News. What an icon. And we're reporting it there before it was being reported in L.A. Near ground zero. So, yeah. Well, I hope there's not a big one coming. But if there is, I hope that I can help predict that. Not a very marketable skill, by the way. Dan, please interview the very experienced Danielle Neuschwager on the hazards of independence. Dan, why would I give any of my estate to the government? No way. And that was from Bob Chu joined us. He's put $ 3 million plus of his own money into running for U.S. Senate as an independent. And, you know, he is concerned, as he should be, we all should be, about the national debt and that neither party wants to do anything tough to try to address it because they don't want to tick off the voters. And lose elections. And his proposal was, hey, if you're in the top 20% of the net worth folks, well, when you die, 30% of your estate goes to the government to pay off the national debt. So that's what that's alluding to. I would oppose that myself. I do respect the fact he's willing to come forward with something unpopular. I oppose it, but I respect the fact he's willing to come forward and then put $ 3 million of his own money. into doing it. That's, that's how strongly he feels about it. Dan Perot, Perot, Perot. Do you think we'll ever see like a, a really appealing, successful, independent, you know, in Colorado, you know, running for statewide office. Hey, they held some to governor or Senate. I could see them winning the others. I think it would have to be a phenomenally appealing, uh, Geller guy. to win governor or U.S. senator, and they'd have to be either a self-funder or even better in a lot of ways, just so extraordinarily appealing that they caught fire on a grassroots level. Because I think you're much more likely to win the election, you know, if you get a million people giving you 10 or 20 bucks as opposed to self-funding 100 million. But yeah, you think we'll see that in Colorado on the presidential level? Is it even possible? you know, for an independent to win the U.S. presidency. Again, I think it would have to start with just a phenomenally attractive, appealing candidate. And then I'd love to hear from you on this, because I do think about this all the time. Because I just believe, I do believe that we're going to have some great leaders coming down the pike. Part of the reason I believe that is What the founders believed, I mean, we don't have to guess, they put it in the Declaration of Independence, you know, right above where they signed, knowing their signature could mean they were going to be hung. And they said they relied on divine providence. And I do think if you look through our history, you can see where I think their reliance was very, very well placed, starting with that revolution. And I think that we have seen divine providence save this nation. and help this nation multiple times. And I believe and I hope and pray that that will manifest in some great unifying leaders coming down the pike. But what would that take? I'd love your take on what qualities would that unifier have to have? And by that, I mean on the presidential, somebody who could reach across party lines, not just win, but attract such a large amount of support from the opposite party that they could just govern and lead in a whole different way. And this, I think, is absolute and bedrock and very doable. I think the starting point is this uber-talented, appealing man or woman would have to be pro-life. And they'd have to be unapologetically pro-life, respectfully pro-life, but they would have to be pro-life because there's no other way to win that coalition campaign. You are never, ever, ever going to be able to get any significant number of pro-life people to support you if you're pro-abortion because we pro-lifers, there's nothing in it for us. I mean, we are trying to save innocent human lives. And so this unifying figure is going to have to be pro-life. But the reason they'll be able to pull this off, assuming they have all the other talents, is because there are a whole lot of Democrats, whole lot of Democrats who always vote Democrat, who are also pro-life. They're not voting Democrat because of abortion. They're voting Democrat in spite of abortion. So that's where that opportunity is there. And, you know, and then from there, I think you'd have to have other abilities. But I'd love your take on that, because I do believe that we are going to have a leader like that. I think that in this no knock on J.D. Vance, I think he'd be a great president, may very well be. But I think Marco Rubio is Could be a leader like that. 303-713-8255. D-A-N-5-7-7-3-9. Instant classic riff from Bill Maher on the other side. You're on the Dan Kaplan Show.
00:29:13
Speaker 6: The basic problem we have in America is conservatives think the liberals are insane and they're not completely wrong. Now, I don't think most liberals are insane, but neither do they make it clear they disapprove of the ones who are, and their cowardice in not marginalizing their own crazies has been their downfall. I couldn't get Neil deGrasse Tyson, a genius scientist and preeminent scientific voice in the media, to agree that it was ridiculous for Scientific American and the Atlantic to be claiming that separating sports by sex doesn't make sense.
00:29:51
Speaker 2: Yes, it does. Actually, it makes perfect sense.
00:29:55
Speaker 6: And it's obvious that it does. And there's a lot of stuff like that on the left. And when conservatives see it, they say, I'm sorry, we're just not going to go along with reinventing society, often pointlessly, even if we have to cancel democracy to do it. That's what they're saying. They see gender as only a construct and sex as assigned at birth, and they say, we're not doing that. Transing kids by self-diagnosis with no age limit, no parental notification, and no acknowledgement of social contagion? Not doing it.
00:30:32
Speaker 2: Boy, I hope that Aaron Lee and Protect Kids Colorado can make good use of that Bill Maher rift, right? Since Aaron, phenomenal grassroots effort putting Prop 134 on the ballot and would say just that. He would say, No, no boys and girls sports. So you have Bill Maher out there saying that. You have Bill Maher out there saying, no, don't be chopping these body parts off of kids. You know, you've got to at least wait until they're adults. You've got Bill Maher out there saying, hey, you've got Tallarico in Texas who has now resurfaced saying that. So, boy, hopefully that bodes well for 134. And 135 in Colorado. 303-713-8255. DAN-57739. I still think it's worth a lot of conversation as to how we ever got to this point. I think you're going to have people looking back and not too far down the road, but looking back and saying, what could have happened? I mean, like this temporary insanity for a nationwide? that all of a sudden one of the major parties, their second most holy grail after the mass killing of children up to the moment of birth, their second most holy grail, is that boys have to be able to go into girls' bathrooms and showers, and that girls who play sports have to shower with boys, and that girls who play sports have to have boys on their... I mean, that's insanity, right? And that we've got to be able to... It's child abuse if you don't cut the penis off a child. And it's child abuse if you don't call the breasts off a female child, cut the breasts off a female child. I mean, it's upside down. It's insane. And I think voters see that. And hopefully we'll see it play out in these ballot measures here in Colorado. What I don't have a good enough feel for, because there's just not much buzz in Colorado surrounding this election. I've been on here for decades. I've never seen anything like this lack of buzz. But I don't have a good feel nationally for this. whether at this point, you know, the Democrats' lunacy when it comes to boys and girls' bathrooms and locker rooms and sports, whether that's going to be a big factor nationally in some of these close races, just don't know. We could tell in the presidential, right, because you had Elon Musk fund a couple hundred million, I think it was, if I remember right, in those ads that they called the Democrats out on that kind of stuff. And it obviously, you know, obviously had a... meteoric impact in the 2024 presidential but uh yeah be very interesting to see if it can help save the republicans nationally i hope i'm wrong you know me i'm just a mega optimist for good reason good logical reasons about the arc of things but um but yeah i i just believe that the gop is going to lose the house i hope i'm proven wrong i hope the gop can hold on to the senate And then the only silver lining, as I've said, is that the more the Democrats win in the midterms, the better the chance the GOP has to take the presidency again in 28. Because the more people get to see the Democrats in action, the more they say, oh, no, I don't want more of that. No, that's not my mom's Democratic Party. That's not my dad's. That's not the one I remember. Because you've got to understand. And I know this as a former Democrat, married to a Democrat for many years, still married to the same woman. Thank God. She's amazing. I just have heard rumors she's actually unaffiliated now. I am going to ask her that question eventually. But you just got to understand, so many Democrats, they don't sit around thinking about how whack their party's become. They just know that voting for Republicans is not an option. And I think that's just habit and stereotypes. And that's the same stereotype I had when I was a Democrat. And then I kind of got blasted out of my shell when I realized, holy cow, this party really has gone whack. And if I want to try to have any impact in politics, it cannot be as a Democrat. So I very reluctantly eventually became a Republican and then found out, hey, there are a whole lot of cool people who really, really care about the same things I do. The difference is they actually do something about it because their ideas work. I mean, I got to tell you, I never would have believed that in a million years as a Democrat. So, you know, we're just we're just going to have to persuade. We're going to have to find a way. I know it's tough, but hey, come on. I think a lot of people have had it tougher, like fighting that American Revolution, some some really big uphill battles over the years. This is our opportunity to fight ours. And all we have to do that is at the ballot box. Shannon Scott, you are the best. Thank you, my friend. Please join us tomorrow on The Dan Kaplan Show.

00:00:14
