OM DENNE EPISODE
@John1723net Rob Wood shares about the heart for ministry leaders to be healthy and have support as they serve. Learn how you can participate in a group and be refreshed for what God has called you to do. Are you a Christian Twitch streamer, a digital missionary, or a pastoral leader struggling with burnout and isolation? You are not alone. In this deeply moving podcast episode, FlatCap sits down with Rob Wood from Barnabas Ministries to explore the life-saving power of John 17:23 groups. They dive into the profound loneliness many leaders face, and how finding authentic, cross-denominational unity can literally save ministries. Rob shares a jaw-dropping personal story from his 17 years in ministry that you have to hear to believe. After helping a struggling church grow from 11 to 90 people, he hit a brick wall with a bullying board member. Rob reveals, "He flipped the table... literally end over end came at me" until another board member had to physically hold the attacker back! What got him through this terrifying ordeal? The steadfast, non-judgmental support of fellow pastors he met in a John 17:23 support group. Rob explains how they texted him from a flip phone while he sat in a parking lot, reassuring him, "We're on your side. Trust God." This episode isn't just about surviving; it's about the explosive spiritual fruit that comes when diverse pastors unite. Rob shares incredible testimonies of unity sparking city-wide revivals, from 11 different churches bringing a Convoy of Hope to a rough neighborhood, to an astonishing 847 people finding Jesus in the Kenyan bush during a cooperative crusade. Jesus prayed in John 17:23 that we would be perfectly one so the world would know Him, and this conversation is proof of that promise in action. Rob also discusses how God shifted their focus during recent travel restrictions, leading them to use WhatsApp to train pastors worldwide. By leveraging AI tools like ChatGPT, they have rapidly translated materials into languages like Greek and Portuguese, connecting leaders in 29 different countries. He passionately explains that 96% of pastors in these groups feel safe enough to share anything, effectively curing their isolation. Whether you are a digital pastor shepherding a gaming community on Twitch, or leading a traditional brick-and-mortar congregation, this conversation will encourage you to seek out authentic relationships. Let's break the walls of isolation together.
