OM DENNE EPISODE
In this episode of Ctrl Alt Disrupt, Abbie Dewhurst is joined by former international rugby league captain, Jamie Peacock, and DTP CFO, Steve Clegg, to explore what it really takes to build teams that don't just perform, but improve when the pressure is on.
After retiring from rugby, Jamie built a career in leadership development and coaching. He now works with organisations to apply the principles that drive success in elite sport, recognising that whether on the pitch or within modern IT and corporate environments, the fundamentals are the same: accountability, leadership, trust, and a relentless commitment to standards.
The reality is that most teams don't fail because of a lack of talent. They fail because of inconsistent behaviours, unclear expectations, and leaders who tolerate poor standards.
For IT leaders navigating constant change, rising demand, and increasing complexity, these principles are essential, not just for performance, but for building teams that can sustain success under pressure.
Key topics include:
• The role of personal standards and self-discipline
• Why leadership behaviour sets the tone for team performance
• Building cultures of trust, challenge, and accountability
• Turning resilience into a competitive advantage
• How high-performance principles translate into IT success
