OM DENNE EPISODE
Show #258 airdate August 26, 2026
Host Stewart Howden welcomes Tobey Ross, Mike Tillson, and Andrew Goodman to preview the highly anticipated 29th Annual Radnor Hunt Concours d'Elegance, taking place September 11–13, 2026 in Malvern, PA. This special episode pulls back the curtain on the rare marques, historic classes, and cinematic legends slated to grace the show field this year in support of the Thorncroft Equestrian Center.
The team deep-dives into the 2026 featured automotive class: Bentley. Leading the charge is the engineering marvel of the British racing era, the legendary front-mounted supercharged "Blower Bentley". The conversation shifts to rare pre-WWI and WWII competition design, showcasing legendary specialty racers like the historic "Old Gray Mare" and the famed "Scrambling Egg."
Listeners will get a preview of the "Automotive Firsts" display—tracing the ancestry of the very first production vehicles down to the birth of the Pony Car and Muscle Car movements. Plus, we highlight the iconic Cadillac Brougham, celebrated as the very first production automobile to introduce four headlights to the American road.
Two-wheel enthusiasts will love the preview of Indian Motorcycle's 125th Anniversary showcase, alongside a massive treat for pop-culture historians: a look at the long-lost, fully restored BSA motorcycle straight out of the 1965 James Bond classic Thunderball. We even settle the debate on 007's original Aston Martin—was it a DB5, or a meticulously disguised DB4?
The show also celebrates Philadelphia's massive footprint on early automotive history, digging into the legendary 1908 Fairmount Park Road Races (engineered by the masterminds behind Long Island's Vanderbilt Cup) and the regional coachbuilding dominance of Fleetwood Bodies near Boyertown.
Later in the program, Keith Martin from Sports Car Market Magazine joins the broadcast to deliver his high-octane "Monterey Postscript," wrapping up the elite sales, trends, and breakthroughs from Pebble Beach and Monterey Car Week.
