OM DENNE EPISODE
In this episode of Cinema D’Amore, Justin and Chuck follow up their discussion of Save the Green Planet! with a deep dive into its remake, Bugonia, closing out their two-part exploration of one of the wildest genre-bending stories put to screen.
They break down how Bugonia reinterprets the original’s chaotic blend of dark comedy, psychological thriller, and sci-fi, comparing key story beats, tonal shifts, and character dynamics. Along the way, they discuss what’s gained (and lost) in translation, the new film’s creative choices, and whether the remake captures the same sense of unpredictability that made the original a cult favorite.
Blending analysis and humor, they put both films head-to-head and ask: does Bugonia justify its existence, or does Save the Green Planet! remain untouchable?
