Speaker 1: It's 7.06 at 55KRC Talk Station. Brian Thomas, always happy to welcome to the 55KRC Morning Show, Congressman Warren Davidson. Warren Davidson, welcome back to the morning show. Thank you for spending time with my listeners and me.
00:00:12
Speaker 2: Good morning, Brian. It's an honor to join you.
00:00:14
Speaker 1: Well, and early voting's on, so get out and vote. When you do, if you can vote for Warren Davidson, you're in his district, vote for him. I want to assure that Congressman Davidson stays where he is. Not that I think you have a risk here, but this whole idea that Democrats are leading in the polls is mind-boggling to me. considering the only thing they seem to be running on is absolute disdain for Donald Trump. And, of course, the gasoline bill is up. But, you know, people have short-term memories, don't they, Congressman Davidson? It was up higher under Biden.
00:00:45
Speaker 2: Well, look, I like the way you're thinking, Brian, and you've got to think, hey, your vote counts. You've got to get out and vote. People in Hamilton County, the maps are different. People don't know, but 1st and 8th District split Hamilton County, and the 8th District moved over to the east side, north suburbs. So we got a link on Davidson for Congress dot com. And there's a tab there where you can go to district, put in your address or look at the maps on the secretary of state's Web site. And it'll tell you right where you are at, whether you're in the first district with Greg Lansman or the eighth. And, you know, hopefully we'll get Eric Conroy in there and we'll flip. We'll keep the eighth strong. But yeah, early voting, you know, they're trying to talk about how that's out. Early voting in Hamilton County is skewing in favor of Democrats. So for those people that are, you know, on the West Side, Warren County, Clinton County in the first district, you've got to show up and vote. And people that live in Butler County, Preble County, you know, Dart County, they've got to show up and vote. You know, the people in Hamilton County could dominate this election. And Republicans in Hamilton County, hey, don't give in to dismay. You know, your vote counts, too. We need everybody to show up. And there's a lot on the line in this election.
00:01:55
Speaker 1: Truly a lot on the line. pivoting over, speaking of things on the line, you know, this reminded me sort of suspiciously, like, uh, the weaponization of the IRS under Lois Lerner, the office of the comptroller of currency that gets OCC. We've got one of those barely, uh, did an, uh, an analysis of a banking transaction and uncovered in their words, irrefutable evidence of the nation's largest banks have denied debanked and discriminated against customers and lawful businesses based on political views, among other things. Um, Congressman Davidson, you can dive into details on this, and I think it's rather alarming, but were these banks doing this, claiming, quote-unquote, reputational risk, like, oh, my God, my bank's reputation is going to be ruined if the world knows that I'm actually allowing a firearms manufacturer to conduct transactions using our bank? I'm not quite sure how much business they could hope to lose, but that was the argument they were advancing, that, oh, we can't do business with these different organizations because it'll damage our reputation.
00:02:54
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's exactly right. That's exactly what was going on, Brian. And here's the worst part. Right as this is coming out and validated, look, we knew this. We did the weaponization committee in Congress, last Congress. But finally, the executive branch has said, yeah, OK, we did do that. As regulators, they were pushing the banks to do this. So whose reputation was it? were the banks in trouble with? Well, the reputations were in trouble with the Biden administration. So the bank regulators were the ones who were judging your reputation. And they would say, well, if you're doing business with the Sinaloa cartel, that's not a big deal. That's what Bank of America just got caught doing. And Treasury fined them $ 1. 2 billion. Now, we haven't seen the prosecutions. That's the other thing that's rare here. Even when banks do clearly do reputational risk. They launder money and engage in illicit finance. They would say, well, they didn't knowingly do it. And then they'll say, well, but they did willfully do it. And there were crimes committed. Like, well, OK, who committed the crimes? Because there's no prosecutions of people. And this kind of game with the banks needs to end. I mean, you just need to hold these people to account.
00:04:09
Speaker 1: Well, and don't you think it's a bit subjective to determine, quote unquote, reputational risk? I mean, how can a bank have a reputational risk on one side or the other. Because let's face it, if I'm banking with one of these big banks, U.S. Bank, J.P. Morgan, Chase, Bank of America, the big ones, and I find out that they are banking with, I don't know, some like Southern Poverty Law Center, let's say Southern Poverty Law Center has a bank account there. I am not going to close my account because of that. But how is it that It's OK for the Southern Poverty Law Center to bank there, but it's not OK for pick some conservative organization to bank there. Who chose the right wing, left wing reputational risk one side or the other? It's just it's also arbitrary and subjective. I mean, that's how you end up the company that made MAGA gear and clothing promoting President Trump ended up getting debanked. It just obviously partisan and biased. And you're saying this was at the behest of the Biden administration that they started doing this?
00:05:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. So the bank regulators, it's called Operation Chokepoint. They did this under Obama. Oh, sure. And then we said it was Operation Chokepoint 2.0 or 5.0, whatever iteration we're on here, where the banks are weaponized. And look, this is the same thing, right? If you think about cancel culture, this is kind of the whole woke heresy code, right? You're a heretic. You're in violation of this radical left. It's really more like a religion. And anybody that doesn't conform to it is a heretic. And therefore, must have your speech canceled because those are crimes too. So beginning with the freedoms, the speech is messed up, the elections are messed up, the jury selection is messed up, justice is skewed. That's why you say woke and weaponized government. This is exactly what was underway by the Biden administration. Just like they were filtering and canceling speech, they were doing it with bank accounts. And this went on aggressively. You know, Jack Smith actually had your information. If you ordered a MAGA hat, you wound up on Jack Smith's watch list. If you're a pro-life Catholic, you wound up on the FBI's watch list. If you're a parent and went to school board meetings in the wake of some of these things where they were hiding transgender, they were gender transitioning kids at school and not telling their parents about it at home. And if you went to school board meetings in the wake of that, you wound up on a watch list. And think how bad it would be if you went to a school board meeting because you were concerned about what's going on at your school. You happened to buy a MAGA hat, and you were a pro-life Catholic. I mean, you were enemy number one to the Biden administration.
00:06:50
Speaker 1: Well, and let us not stop at the Biden administration. If you recall, it wasn't Eric Holder under Obama's administration that engaged in Operation Chokepoint, which was threatening banks with massive compliance audits if they didn't bend to the will of the Obama administration. That was Chokepoint 1, wasn't it?
00:07:07
Speaker 2: That's exactly what was going on in Chokepoint 1, and it was related to what Lois Lerner right here in the area was doing with the IRS. They go after it, and look, it's time to let the money be the money. That's where This is why central bank digital currency is such a big deal to me, because then you've got the government not even having to go through an intermediary like a bank. You've got the government truly in control of your money. If it stays account-based, you don't even have access to your money except through the conditions of the government. The left loves it. It's really communist money for the digital age. They call it programmable money and tout the features. But it is like the most dystopian tool imaginable. So that's why we're working so hard to not just ban it. I want to criminalize it and treat it as if it's counterfeit money. So if you're developing a plan to counterfeit money, you get in trouble. If you're making plates to counterfeit money, you get in a lot more trouble. But if you're actually underway in the counterfeiting, you get in a whole lot of trouble. And I think this is one of the big things for government officials. Some of these folks need to go to jail for the way that they're violating American citizens' rights.
00:08:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no question. And this is one of the reasons I'm really frightened of the idea of getting rid of physical currency. I mean, I like to pay in cash. I got the money in my hand. I can use it anytime I want. And there is no record of whatever it is I bought with it. And that's not the same with digital currency. That's big brother all across the financial marketplace.
00:08:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, there's ways to do it and be more private. But, you know, I think cash is an essential part of our economy. A lot of places you can't even do it. I mean, I'm disciplined. I love going to Bengals games, Reds games. But you go to the stadium. You can't spend cash. I mean, my kids are young adults at this point, but you go back to the day, you give your kid $ 20, he goes up, buys a hot dog and a Coke, and it's probably about a little while these days. He used to buy a few more things, right? You don't want to hand him your credit card and just say, hey, go spend money. And so it's shifting, but I hope that we preserve the nature of cash because you get direct access to your own money. There's no filter buffer between you and your money, and it doesn't turn into a tool for surveillance. But you see, like, that's the thing. Like the Biden administration, Obama administration, if they can weaponize the government, they have.
00:09:31
Speaker 1: Indeed. Illustration after illustration. Now, we don't see this from the Republican side, unless you can come up with an illustration of that while we're taking a break here, Congressman Davidson. Don't recall that ever going on.
00:09:39
Speaker 2: KRC, the talk station.
00:09:44
Speaker 1: It is 720-55-KRC-D Talk Station. Ryan Thomas with Congressman Warren Davidson. Hey, real quick here before we get to Operation Blackout, I want to just go back to the Jack Smith thing. This is absolutely a frightening abuse of power. They were investigating Trump, and so they hoovered up the personal data of almost 640,000 Republican donors, voters, and supporters. It was ostensibly the January 6th investigation which led to this, but they got data all the way back to 2005. The January 6th event was 2020, so I don't get that. They treated everybody like parties to a criminal conspiracy. What's more, we know from prior revelations that Grassley showed that Smith eavesdropped on Trump White House, 16 members of Congress, and media outlets, and also that the Smith team obtained just shy of 5,000 checks, as in campaign contributions, that everyday Americans made like small-dollar contributions. What in God's name? How can... Hmm. how come this guy's not in jail? Is he going to ultimately be held accountable for this? But this should really bother anybody, because if the Democrat administration can weaponize the Department of Justice, then anybody can.
00:10:59
Speaker 2: Yeah, well, and it's not a new thing that they've weaponized the Department of Justice. And that's why, look, I think we may need to just restructure the whole FBI. I mean, Cash Patel's at the head of it, but there's still a lot of A lot of, I just sort of think, dormant malfeasance there that there hasn't been a reckoning for a lot of things in a lot of sectors of our government. And this is where we're hoping Todd Blanch is going to be the first real attorney general in forever, because that's still the number one question I get is, when is somebody going to jail? And they're talking about stuff like this, like big banks that, oh, we'll pay a fine, and it's a fraction of the money they made off of doing it. Or, you know, people that get into government office and they abuse the power. And it's been abused not just against President Trump, not just against members of Congress. I mean, they said the Speaker of the House might be a flight risk, for heaven's sakes. But they're doing it against ordinary Americans. And that's why January 6th was so crazy. It's not that no one did anything wrong then. But the government treated everyone that was– they got the bank records of everyone who had a financial transaction in Washington, D.C.
00:12:05
Speaker 1: Yeah.
00:12:06
Speaker 2: In the day before, day of, and day after January 6th.
00:12:10
Speaker 1: That's amazing.
00:12:11
Speaker 2: That's how crazy that was. No warrant, just swept up data.
00:12:17
Speaker 1: If more people paid attention to this kind of thing, Congressman Davidson, we wouldn't have problems like this, I thoroughly believe. What about Operation Black? I've got a couple of minutes to address this one because it looks like, even though it sounds like yet one more nefarious operation coming out of government, this is going after some scammers.
00:12:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, look, the scam folks is a big deal. I mean, the financial crimes are, I mean, just mind-blowing. Last October, they shut down a $ 15 billion scam center in Cambodia. And what you find, they're operating the scam center with human trafficking. So they get people. They hold them captive. They do all kinds of other horrible things to these folks. And then they give them some sort of hope for their freedom if they help scam American citizens. Now with AI, the capability of these data centers that they're using, I mean, this isn't like some guy, bored guy, you know, hanging out in mom and dad's basement, ripping off the neighbors. These are really sophisticated transnational criminal organizations. And you're seeing a whole of government approach go after shutting them down. So I think that's going to be a big, big win for us.
00:13:25
Speaker 1: That's great. Sort of extension of our efforts on fraud, waste and abuse going after these, you know, it's, Obviously, it's virtually impossible to get someone in a foreign country, you know, extradited or prosecuted because, you know, there are countries out there that don't have extradition treaties with us. Great place to set up shop if you're a scammer.
00:13:43
Speaker 2: Well, yeah, and that's, you know, you look at it, you know, it's almost like that bad if you've got an illegal alien in the United States in sanctuary cities. They're like, no, we don't allow extradition out of our country. sanctuary city, talk about a great place to do business. And not only are these cities strategic, they're violating the sovereignty of the United States with the illegal immigration, but they're essentially giving soft on crime prosecutors, soft on crime judges, giving sanctuary to the cartels. So that's where following the money and shutting down the money to the cartels is also a critical component here. And frankly, I've got a bill called the Stop the Cartels Act, We introduced early in the Biden administration trying to put pressure on them, say, if we can't agree on immigration reform or border security, at least we could agree to stop the cartels. These guys are bad guys. They're killing American citizens with fentanyl. And look at how much of a difference the president has made. We have a secure border. Fentanyl overdoses are a fraction of what they used to be. Crime is down. And now they're going after the money, shutting down these cartels.
00:14:47
Speaker 1: Great segue there, Congressman Warren Davidson. Love having you on the program. Appreciate this time you spent with my listeners and me every week, and we'll continue to do this, I hope. Maybe we'll see you next week here on the 55 KRC Morning Show.
