OM DENNE EPISODE
Parker Barrow's Megan Kane and Dylan Turner join Randy Patterson for their first Boomerocity conversation.
The husband-and-wife team tells the unlikely story of meeting in Nashville, how a last-minute need for a singer put Megan in a van with Dylan just weeks after they'd met, and how that adventure eventually became a marriage, a band and years of touring together.
Megan talks about growing up singing in church and discovering that her powerful voice belonged somewhere beyond the country-music lane she'd been pursuing. Dylan shares how growing up around his father's live-music venue taught him how bands really work—and why the sounds of The Black Crowes, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Brothers and classic Southern rock became part of his musical DNA.
They also reveal the Bonnie Parker/Clyde Barrow connection behind the Parker Barrow name, discuss the evolution behind Hold the Mash and explain how they honor their influences without simply copying them.
If you love great vocals, loud guitars and rock 'n' roll that feels classic without being stuck in the past, this is a band worth discovering.
