Beasts/Touyou Kanon Podcast EPISODE 12

Happy New Year Beastsiders!! Our first 2014 podcast is a streamlined sojourn through the sounds of Japan and the surrounding Far East as usual, and it kicks off with a track from Ms. Mari Iijima's recent "Eternal Forest" EP.

New performers on our rotational roster include pop/soul sibling quartet bless4, fresh off a video interview they did with the Crew at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2014 (www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUDGEfokbZE). Portland-based Irish-Chinese chanteuse Illima Considine and her Sexbots stir every pot with their electrosensual music, preparing for a 3 city tour of Japan later this Spring (www.ilimaconsidine.com)

We have a special "I Can't Believe They Went There Moment" via two J-producers putting their own spin on a record by The Cardigans (www.thecardigans.com). They are KYOTO(www.youtube.com/user/mktchanand) and Takeshi Endo (www.youtube.com/user/nekome777?feature=watch).

While a bit slimmer on tracks in this mix, this Beastly brew is still high on quality and aural diversity.

You'll also hear about a few interviews we've done in the winter hiatus, with entrepreneur/event planner/L.A. to Japan transplant rap warrior DAMU PENDA of INTERNATIONAL PARTY ROCKERS (www.vimeo.com/partyrockers) and the FIRST INTERNATIONL PLAYAZ (www.facebook.com/damupenda), and with Mrs. Mary Silver, volunteer and on-air promoter for the Chinese performance troupe SHEN YUN (www.shenyun.com), who performed in Atlanta last December. Both interviews are featured here on the Beasts podcast page.

You'll hear about our friends at 1,000 Faces Coffee in Athens (www.1000facescoffee.com), as well as our sister radio show at WUOG 90.5 in Athens, Rising Sun Rhythms (www.facebook.com/rsrradio‎).

In future shows, you'll hear about the awesome that is MR. COMIC SHOP in Watkinsville, GA. If you're a comic book fan of any degree, you owe to your fanboy (or fangirl) integrity to check out their selection. (www.facebook.com/MR.ComicShop‎)

There is music and more for you to enjoy, and thank you to all the Beastsiders, both new and old listeners, for your patronage and click-action that led you here to our online hallowed programming halls.
