OM DENNE EPISODE
Tampa Bay will have a winning record by the end of the 2026 regular season! It was a unique finish, Sunday afternoon, that’s for sure. The Padres had the win in the bag, or rather, in the glove yesterday. Unfortunately, the outfield wall jarred it loose and it dropped over for a most important, game tying home run! Tampa Bay then fell behind in extra innings, but came back to tie and then won the game with a walk off hit from the newest member of the Rays, Jorge Mateo! Tampa Bay has swept or been swept by every team from the National League West this season!
Robert Stock (0-3) of the Mets will face either Casey Legumina as an opener or Ian Seymour as the starter in tonight’s opener against the National League East team from New York.
Tampa Bay (82-54, .603, 1st AL East, 1st AL, 2nd MLB) is facing the last place Mets (61-76, .445, last NL West) in the first of three more games at the Trop this homestand.
The Rays are 31-22 since June 30th, the official start of the second half of the season at game 82 of a 162 game schedule.
First pitch in game 137 is at 6:40 PM EDT in St. Petersburg, FL on August 31st, 2026.
