Thanks for joining us for this portion of the episode as Dr.
00:00:47.679 --> 00:00:52.479
O begins to answer the question: What is animal chiropractic?
00:00:53.439 --> 00:00:59.359
He will look at how the chiropractic adjustment is a valuable and viable treatment for what ails your animals.
00:01:02.880 --> 00:01:04.799
Hello everyone, I'm Dr.
00:01:04.959 --> 00:01:06.640
O, and welcome.
00:01:06.879 --> 00:01:09.200
What is animal chiropractic?
00:01:09.439 --> 00:01:15.200
It's a question I hear all the time, and if you've been wondering about it too, you're in the right place.
00:01:15.439 --> 00:01:24.799
Whether you're a pet parent, an animal enthusiast, or simply looking for ways to help your furry companion live a healthier, happier life, thank you for joining me today.
00:01:24.959 --> 00:01:33.200
I would like to talk about helping pets with hip dysplasia and how animal chiropractic can become an important part of your pet's wellness journey.
00:01:33.359 --> 00:01:35.439
So let's start with the basics.
00:01:35.760 --> 00:01:38.400
What is animal chiropractic?
00:01:38.640 --> 00:01:53.120
Animal chiropractic is a specialized healthcare discipline that focuses on the relationship between the spine, joints, nervous system, and the body's natural ability to function and heal.
00:01:53.280 --> 00:02:05.120
Through gentle, specific adjustments, we help restore proper motion to restricted joints, allowing the nervous system to communicate more effectively with the rest of the body.
00:02:05.359 --> 00:02:15.919
When an animal's joints are moving properly, they're often able to move more comfortably, maintain better balance, and enjoy a higher quality of life.
00:02:16.159 --> 00:02:23.520
Now, let's talk about one of the most common orthopedic conditions affecting our pets, hip dysplasia.
00:02:23.840 --> 00:02:29.360
Hip dysplasia occurs when the hip joint doesn't fit together as it should.
00:02:29.520 --> 00:02:36.960
Instead of moving smoothly, the joint becomes loose or unstable, causing excessive wear over time.
00:02:37.680 --> 00:02:42.719
This can lead to inflammation, pain, stiffness, and arthritis.
00:02:42.960 --> 00:02:51.199
While hip dysplasia is often seen in large breed dogs, it can affect dogs of all sizes and even some cats.
00:02:51.439 --> 00:03:06.159
You might notice your pet having difficulty getting up after resting, hesitating before climbing stairs, struggling to jump into the car, walking with a swaying gait, or becoming less interested in walks and playtime.
00:03:06.639 --> 00:03:11.280
These are all signs that your pet may be compensating for discomfort.
00:03:11.520 --> 00:03:15.039
So, how can animal chiropractic help?
00:03:15.360 --> 00:03:24.400
It's important to understand that animal chiropractic does not cure hip dysplasia or change the structure of the hip joint.
00:03:24.639 --> 00:03:29.199
However, it can help your pet function better despite the condition.
00:03:29.360 --> 00:03:34.240
When the hips aren't working properly, the rest of the body compensates.
00:03:34.560 --> 00:03:41.840
Extra stress is placed on the spine, pelvis, knees, shoulders, and surrounding muscles.
00:03:42.080 --> 00:03:47.520
Over time, these areas can become restricted, tight, and uncomfortable.
00:03:47.759 --> 00:03:59.599
Gentle chiropractic adjustments help restore normal joint motion, improve mobility, reduce muscle tension, and support a healthier nervous system.
00:03:59.759 --> 00:04:09.680
By addressing these compensations, many pets experience greater comfort, improve flexibility, and a better ability to move with confidence.
00:04:09.919 --> 00:04:17.519
Animal chiropractic works best as part of a comprehensive health care plan alongside your veterinarian.
00:04:17.759 --> 00:04:31.360
Combined with proper nutrition, weight management, rehabilitation, exercise, and regular veterinary care, chiropractic adjustments can help your pet stay active and comfortable throughout every stage of life.
00:04:31.600 --> 00:04:38.800
Every pet deserves the opportunity to move freely, play joyfully, and enjoy the moments that matter most.
00:04:39.040 --> 00:04:46.480
If you've noticed changes in your pet's movement or they're slowing down more than usual, consider having them evaluated.
00:04:46.720 --> 00:04:54.560
Sometimes improving the way the body moves can make a remarkable difference in how your pet feels every single day.
00:04:54.800 --> 00:04:58.480
Thank you so much for spending these few minutes with me.

00:05:48.160 --> 00:05:48.480
O.
00:05:53.360 --> 00:05:55.199
You can also purchase a copy of Dr.
00:05:55.360 --> 00:05:56.079
O's book.
00:05:56.319 --> 00:05:58.399
Yes, it's really a thing.
00:06:06.959 --> 00:06:09.439
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes.
00:06:09.680 --> 00:06:12.800
For me, my hero is Frank, my best friend.
00:06:12.959 --> 00:06:15.680
But even the greatest heroes need help sometimes.
00:06:15.920 --> 00:06:20.800
Frank and I were at the park the other day when he started limping and favoring his left leg.
00:06:20.959 --> 00:06:24.720
I didn't see what happened, but I could tell something was wrong.
00:06:25.120 --> 00:06:28.240
So we went to see Frank's favorite vet, Yvette.
00:06:28.560 --> 00:06:29.600
Yvette the vet.
00:06:30.000 --> 00:06:34.160
After running some tests, she determined that Frank had torn his ACL.
00:06:34.560 --> 00:06:36.639
His best option was surgery.
00:06:36.800 --> 00:06:40.319
But unfortunately for me, surgery wasn't an option.
00:06:40.639 --> 00:06:45.199
So what could I possibly do to be a hero to my hurting hero?
00:06:45.439 --> 00:06:48.959
That was when Yvette told us about Hero Braces.
00:06:50.000 --> 00:07:04.160
She took a quick cast of his leg and said this mold would be used to create a biomechanically designed stifle brace, custom-made, just for Frank, allowing his body's natural healing processes to take over and stabilize the knee.
00:07:04.399 --> 00:07:14.079
About two weeks later, she fitted the brace and gave us the green light to walk, hike, and snuggle and do all the activities that Frank and I were used to doing.
00:07:14.319 --> 00:07:15.839
It was that simple.
00:07:16.399 --> 00:07:23.199
Hero braces are lightweight, don't stretch or tear, and are durably designed to last the life of your dog.
00:07:23.759 --> 00:07:26.240
So Frank can get back to being Frank.
00:07:26.800 --> 00:07:30.720
Like I said, heroes come in all shapes and sizes.
00:07:30.959 --> 00:07:34.000
And lucky for us, so do hero braces.
00:07:39.600 --> 00:07:49.519
Helping others experience an abundant life with the gift, art, and blessing that is animal chiropractic is our sole mission in all creatures every spine.
00:07:49.920 --> 00:07:52.560
It's what we do, it's what we love.
00:07:53.040 --> 00:07:57.199
It truly is what keeps us motivated to help people just like you.
00:07:59.759 --> 00:08:02.079
I truly love the art of chiropractic.
00:08:02.240 --> 00:08:05.759
It drives me to provide the highest level of chiropractic possible.
00:08:05.920 --> 00:08:11.519
And as fellow chiropractic business owners, it's that love that drives us to become better.
00:08:11.759 --> 00:08:17.519
However, the reality is that sometimes running a successful business can be challenging.
00:08:17.920 --> 00:08:21.680
Sometimes there can be obstacles to overcome.
00:08:21.920 --> 00:08:26.959
We all know the old saying: if it were easy, everyone would do it.
00:08:28.319 --> 00:08:38.080

00:10:03.440 --> 00:10:10.480

00:10:36.080 --> 00:10:36.879
So, Dr.
00:10:37.039 --> 00:10:38.720
Carolyn, how are you doing today?
00:10:39.039 --> 00:10:40.639
I'm doing fabulous.
00:10:40.960 --> 00:10:41.519
All right.
00:10:41.840 --> 00:10:43.120
Happy to be here.
00:10:44.320 --> 00:10:45.919
Yes, it is.
00:10:47.039 --> 00:10:48.480
So let's start out.
00:10:48.879 --> 00:10:49.840
The way we always do.
00:10:50.000 --> 00:10:52.960
What's your biggest win with animal chiropractic?
00:10:53.440 --> 00:10:55.759
My biggest win is actually a case.
00:10:55.919 --> 00:10:58.720
Actually, it's a couple cases, but we'll do one particular case.
00:10:58.960 --> 00:11:00.000
Let's back up first.
00:11:00.159 --> 00:11:03.519
Because I don't think I don't think that's your biggest win.
00:11:04.320 --> 00:11:07.600
Oh which one?
00:11:07.919 --> 00:11:09.360
I have several big wins.
00:11:09.440 --> 00:11:11.759
I don't know which one's colossal, though.
00:11:12.080 --> 00:11:15.919
I think your colossal big win is this.
00:11:16.559 --> 00:11:16.960
Yes.
00:11:17.200 --> 00:11:23.519
I think your colossal big win is let's talk about your burnout.
00:11:24.559 --> 00:11:25.759
Oh yes.
00:11:26.080 --> 00:11:30.720
So I you didn't know we were gonna go there, did you?
00:11:31.360 --> 00:11:32.159
That's okay.
00:11:32.399 --> 00:11:37.919
Um, but that's my big testimony of why I chose Animal Car Practic.
00:11:38.320 --> 00:11:44.879
Um, so I'm gonna back up a couple years, and I haven't been in practice for 12 years.
00:11:45.039 --> 00:12:02.720
I had bought my practice when I was about four or five years in as an uh I was an associate previously, and I kind of learned the hard way about everything in practice, and I went through all my life changes at that time too.
00:12:02.799 --> 00:12:07.600
So I had moved to Breenville, bought a practice, and then I got married.
00:12:07.840 --> 00:12:30.080
A year later I had a baby, and then the next year during COVID, I had another baby, and I was feeling a little crazy trying to balance being a young mom of two babies because it's they're 17 months apart, and trying to deal with practice and trying to grow.
00:12:30.320 --> 00:12:38.879
And at the time, I had a friend of mine who I had been friends with in chiropractic school help cover for me, and he was dealing with his own level of burnout.
00:12:39.200 --> 00:12:54.480
And eventually we had to part ways because it's just not working out for either one of us, and I started looking at my goals, and I added some things in my practice that finally got me to the next level to get into a bigger office.
00:12:54.639 --> 00:13:02.000
So I was in an 1100 square foot office, it had probably more mold in it than some of these reno places.
00:13:02.240 --> 00:13:10.399
Um, I moved into a 3,000 square foot office after I added functional nutrition to my human practice, got in it.
00:13:10.559 --> 00:13:29.279
This was like in the beginning of 2023, and because I'm such a goal-oriented person, I kind of checked off the big, you know, part of my checklist from chiropractic school because I always wanted a wellness center, and then I was thinking, oh god, what else?
00:13:29.840 --> 00:13:31.600
I don't it is this it?
00:13:31.840 --> 00:13:36.639
This is not where I wanted to land, and I felt kind of bored.
00:13:36.720 --> 00:13:48.320
And I and I'm one of those people that needs a challenge in life, and um, and not just a challenge in my personal life because like that was challenging enough having two babies at the same time I'm doing all this.
00:13:48.799 --> 00:14:01.600
I felt a little bit off after I found out that half of my employees were not doing good things in my office, and I started all but one of them.
00:14:02.879 --> 00:14:09.840
And that was a bit of my 2023 that I was like, oh my gosh, this is just you know, I felt kind of depressed about it.
00:14:10.639 --> 00:14:14.000
I felt, you know, do I need to quit?
00:14:14.960 --> 00:14:41.200
And during that summer, I saw some of my friends of my practice friends finish their ABCA test and I started seeing pictures and videos and posts on my social media that they were addressing animals within their human practices, and I had a little bit of FOMO at that point.
00:14:41.600 --> 00:15:05.600
And you know, in the past I had seen a lot of animal chiropractic, honestly, because one of my um roommates in chiropractic school was actually a vet that she was going for a DC and I was seeing her address some animals, she went to options, and so when I had asked her about it when I was in school, she had said, Oh, this is hard, and like you know, you have to go through all these classes, and so that kind of put a mental block in.
00:15:05.840 --> 00:15:16.720
So I remember those times, you know, looking back on that, and I'm like, hey, you know, I kind of feel like this is the next move for me to this is the next challenge I need to do.
00:15:16.879 --> 00:15:36.000
So I have looked at all sorts of schools, I have looked um I talked to one of my friends, I talked to both of them that I saw doing that, and one had a lot more to say about their animal carpet training, and that one actually led me to ACES to look up uh the program.
00:15:37.039 --> 00:15:40.399
And I liked a lot more of the community because I'm more of a community person.
00:15:40.480 --> 00:15:46.000
I feel like I'm just one lonely doc out here and nobody connects with anybody.
00:15:46.320 --> 00:15:55.600
And whenever I saw that, I followed all of like the posts YouTube.
00:15:56.240 --> 00:16:00.879
I was one of those who religiously uh watched Dr.
00:16:01.120 --> 00:16:11.120
Amy's little post in the morning for months, you know, and I'm and I'm one of those people that once I have my mindset on something, you can't talk to me out of it.
00:16:11.519 --> 00:16:18.559
But I talked about going to animal chiropractic over probably good, like eight months, so a good bit of like 2023.
00:16:18.879 --> 00:16:24.159
And by the time I hit like January, it was like I wanted it so bad at hurt.
00:16:24.879 --> 00:16:32.000
And I told my husband, this is not a permission, this is a so we need to get this funded so I can go.
00:16:32.159 --> 00:16:34.480
Like, I like there was no talking me out of it.
00:16:34.559 --> 00:16:36.080
He knew that about me.
00:16:36.559 --> 00:17:00.399
And so at that time when I first started, I didn't realize how burnt I was until probably like a month or two later, because I had a few things come crashing down on me at the office, and I was stressed out about it, and I had never like checked in on how stressed I was about these things until I probably came to module one and Dr.
00:17:00.559 --> 00:17:05.599
Amy had asked me some just like general questions, and I just started crying.
00:17:10.000 --> 00:17:27.839
And it just made me more aware of how long this has been going on and how long no one has kept in on me about how we are kind of digging through the trenches and trying to manage practices with not a lot of community support.
00:17:28.559 --> 00:17:38.559
And so that was that all kind of happened all in that that year and a half time frame, and it was it was a wake-up call for me to be honest.
00:17:39.440 --> 00:17:43.599
And it it was it was good, I hated it, but it was a little hard.
00:17:45.279 --> 00:17:48.799
And you you say that, and we you know we do have mastermind.
00:17:48.880 --> 00:17:51.519
Once you got signed up, you get to come to Mastermind.
00:17:51.599 --> 00:17:56.880
Yes, but but you were like a typical um new student.
00:17:59.920 --> 00:18:14.960
You didn't you didn't know what mastermind was, and you were like, Oh, it's too busy, I don't have time, and what is like a busy, it wasn't the busy part because I noticed if it's important to me, I make time for it.
00:18:15.359 --> 00:18:28.079
I think I was going through at that time some emotional walls because there has always been an expectation of me to do great things, but no check-in on how I'm doing them.
00:18:28.720 --> 00:18:37.200
And this at the this point of my life two years ago, this was this was the first time that someone actually checked in with me.
00:18:37.279 --> 00:18:46.880
So I was pretty like I had the walls up pretty high, and you know, so I was ready to be given criticism, but ready to be defensive about it.
00:18:46.960 --> 00:18:54.000
So that was probably in that time where I'm you know a slightly resistant to change, but I'm there because I want to be.
00:18:54.240 --> 00:18:57.359
But it was you know, emotionally complicated at the time.
00:18:58.240 --> 00:19:35.359
Yeah, and and we see that a lot, but the people that come to mastermind, you know, and this is for all you students out there, all you graduates that are having trouble, that are feeling burnt out at some point in your progress now, you know, um come to mastermind, give it a chance, you know, and it may be a couple months before you uh resonate with it, but once you start to come to mastermind, now you know somebody and not be there and we're like, where are they at?
00:19:35.680 --> 00:19:40.319
You know has anybody has anybody checked in with Dr.
00:19:40.480 --> 00:19:41.359
X lately?
00:19:41.440 --> 00:19:42.640
Have have we heard from her?
00:19:42.799 --> 00:19:46.559
It's been you know a couple weeks since she's been here.
00:19:47.440 --> 00:19:52.720
Yeah, yeah, and I do send texts out, like, are you coming to mastermind?
00:19:53.039 --> 00:19:59.359
You know, and and I probably have a good like five or six people I I regularly text just as a reminder.
00:19:59.680 --> 00:20:10.240
Because sometimes because I I know what that's like, that you feel like you're kind of overwhelmed and you want someone to check on you, even if for something like that, because it's a way to open up the door to see what's going on.
00:20:10.400 --> 00:20:16.880
Because sometimes when I've sent those texts, they're like, I'm going through so much stuff right now, and they just want someone to talk to.
00:20:17.119 --> 00:20:25.839
And there's times they're like, Well, let me finish our meeting, I'll talk to you, or we'll set a time this week, and we'll kind of chat it out.
00:20:26.000 --> 00:20:35.599
If it's some a problem that we both might be having, then we can work it out, you know, and it's and it's good to have that community to be able to do that, you know.
00:20:36.400 --> 00:20:47.039
And and a lot of times if they come to mastermind, somebody else is having that same issue at mastermind, and they're just being quiet about it, you know.
00:20:47.599 --> 00:21:01.279
And so that's one of the things that I've noticed is usually when we cross one of those emotional bridges, no matter you know, who it is, um, you know, like recently with Dr.
00:21:01.440 --> 00:21:12.480
Amy's stuff, and we bring it up, and it's you know, or or with with my stuff or you know, with somebody's stuff, um it's nice.
00:21:12.640 --> 00:21:29.519
And you know, it's nice to be able to we're gonna we're gonna talk about your big animal wins, but it but it's also nice we were we're not gonna talk about it on the podcast very often, but I brought a failure to mastermind last week.
00:21:31.279 --> 00:21:48.319
Um and it was good to have uh other doctors look at the videos, look at the history, and say you're lucky that you lasted four days.
00:21:50.079 --> 00:21:59.759
Yeah, well, we all have a learning experience, but sometimes it makes us feel a little bit more human and connected on that level when we have we're faced with some time.
00:22:00.160 --> 00:22:12.079
Some very difficult cases that you're trying to do the best you can and having some level of transparency and tuning into our failures because we're gonna learn from those.
00:22:12.319 --> 00:22:17.440
I never think that we're gonna have a failure that we can't learn from.
00:22:17.759 --> 00:22:18.319
Right.
00:22:18.640 --> 00:22:19.839
Yeah, anyway.
00:22:20.000 --> 00:22:25.920
All right, so now let's go back to what you wanted to answer my original question.
00:22:26.079 --> 00:22:30.880
What are your biggest animal wins in animal chiropractic?
00:22:31.359 --> 00:22:33.599
So I'm gonna do the one I'm thinking of.
00:22:33.680 --> 00:22:35.279
This is the one I saw today.
00:22:35.599 --> 00:22:46.079
I have a bird dog that came to me in November, so Thanksgiving was referred to me by the vet I pick my animals to.
00:22:46.720 --> 00:22:50.240
But this was an injury that happened in September.
00:22:51.279 --> 00:23:02.480
And the dog went down the stairs and was chasing, I think they were at the beach, chasing some geese, and just totally like peeled out on the stairs.
00:23:02.799 --> 00:23:14.799
And they put all this medication on this dog, and I think my suspicion is that she couldn't do anything else for the dog, so she referred her to me.
00:23:15.200 --> 00:23:25.279
And so we pretty much saw this dog pretty much a couple, maybe maybe one to two weeks from a crisis.
00:23:25.839 --> 00:23:34.160
And and I said when she was she was probably on three meds, like pretty dope devil, like you're gonna have to detox from these meds.
00:23:34.319 --> 00:23:38.799
She is not gonna get better with uh being on these meds.
00:23:39.119 --> 00:23:51.039
And my typical clinical you know, recommendations are obviously you want to get them on raw food because they're all on cable, and that's what you know starts all this.
00:23:51.680 --> 00:23:53.920
And we gotta trim those nails.
00:23:54.559 --> 00:24:01.279
And this in November, I did have my nail trimming service.
00:24:01.599 --> 00:24:11.279
We started doing that in the last few months because I got tired of sending them out and and I'm like, did they even touch them?
00:24:11.839 --> 00:24:36.400
And so I had my handler trained in doing nails, so now we have a nice little certificate on the wall for her, and that's what she does in between patients, is they get adjusted and they get their nails trimmed, but at this time she was so resistant to everything, and so I'm like, Well, we're not gonna get much.
00:24:36.640 --> 00:24:53.119
So she actually started working on detoxing the dog, so that took a while, and she gave me the kind of the crinkled face when I talk about raw food because they always get the look like I'm asking them to eat it raw, like the owner, yeah.
00:24:53.680 --> 00:25:05.599
And I'm like, it's not for you, it's for the dog, and she so she kept them like going back forth, like, oh, I'm gonna do some farm meats and stuff like that.
00:25:05.680 --> 00:25:23.440
And I'm like, okay, I don't know about this, and then like I really wish she would do like the commercial, and so at this time the dog's not walking anymore, the nails are super long, she's not walking anymore, and we're we're gonna get into a spot where I'm like, okay, we gotta do something soon.
00:25:24.799 --> 00:25:30.720
You know, this dog was on three times a week because she couldn't function at all, so wild.
00:25:31.119 --> 00:25:41.440
And then she started listening to some of the things I was talking about because I had a lot of education moments with this patient or sorry, this client.
00:25:42.000 --> 00:25:51.920
And so when we went through this, she finally would give in and, like, okay, we'll get off the meds, okay, we'll do the commercial raw food.
00:25:52.240 --> 00:26:00.319
It took her a while to do the raw food after her dog started losing hair and it was coming off in chunks.
00:26:00.400 --> 00:26:05.759
And I'm like, We're we're like having her take temperature reads and so that makes sure everything's working all right.
00:26:05.920 --> 00:26:07.680
Um, but then she was fine.
00:26:07.920 --> 00:26:15.279
Once she got on the raw food, the biggest part of her case where she started to actually move is when we trimmed her nails.
00:26:15.440 --> 00:26:23.279
When I had somebody come in and trim her nails, she got up and walked across the office and out the door.
00:26:24.079 --> 00:26:39.440
And I'm like, and I'm trying to be gentle about like kind of see what I told you, and so going forward now, her hair is almost all grown back, some of it's still shedding a little bit.
00:26:39.680 --> 00:26:42.880
Um, she's let me trim them a bit more.
00:26:43.599 --> 00:26:45.839
Um, we're not in a full trim yet.
00:26:46.000 --> 00:26:51.119
And I said if that dog walks fully, she's getting a trim that we think is appropriate.
00:26:51.519 --> 00:26:55.519
And she's on commercial raw food, and she has gotten a lot better.
00:26:55.759 --> 00:27:02.160
She's now running, jumping, jumping on the couch, jumping on everything.
00:27:02.319 --> 00:27:04.400
She's picking everything that she likes now.
00:27:04.720 --> 00:27:13.680
And not only was the dog a win, I had gotten because I'm a human chiropractor, I also got the owner in.
00:27:13.839 --> 00:27:17.680
Not only her, but her two other dogs who have on their own.
00:27:18.559 --> 00:27:30.319
And during this journey for her, thank God that she came in because she had so many kind of emergence things that the owner had that I had to refer her to different things.
00:27:30.559 --> 00:27:42.240
So not only has her dog felt better, or dogs, the the patient, the owner, is now on her road to recovery herself.
00:27:42.480 --> 00:27:54.400
So this has been a learning curve for both species, and seeing the recovery in that was a major transformation, you know.
00:27:54.480 --> 00:28:00.079
I'm guiding her now through all things and having her question all things.
00:28:00.400 --> 00:28:03.680
And now she's like, you know, well, should I do this?
00:28:03.839 --> 00:28:07.839
I'm like, well, I mean, it's not holistic, you know.
00:28:08.079 --> 00:28:13.200
And but she's she's thinking about it now, she's asking me a lot more questions, she's taking it seriously.
00:28:13.359 --> 00:28:21.839
She knows that I have the best interest for her and her dogs, and you know, these are her companions because she lost her husband several years ago.
00:28:21.920 --> 00:28:25.039
And so these are this is her wife, is these dogs.
00:28:25.119 --> 00:28:43.440
And she initially thought she was gonna have to put biscuit down, and seeing that this gives her hope, it gave her not only hope for her for her dogs, but also for herself, and it was just amazing seeing her burning and helping her guide through it and knowing that this isn't gonna be a longer lasting relationship.
00:28:43.759 --> 00:28:44.960
Yeah, cool.
00:28:45.279 --> 00:28:59.440
And you do have, I mean, I send people to the chiropractor all the time, and I don't know, you know, if they choose a good one or not, when I recommend, but um, it does make a huge difference, I know.
00:28:59.759 --> 00:29:05.039
Um, but then what about you know?
00:29:05.519 --> 00:29:07.839
I know you we were talking earlier.
00:29:08.000 --> 00:29:11.440
Um, tell me about your new ad campaign you're running.
00:29:12.240 --> 00:29:20.960
So I decided, because you know, I've been I've been working hard with the ant with our animals because it's not just dogs and cats I see, I see everything.
00:29:21.039 --> 00:29:23.039
I'm a food animal adjuster too.
00:29:23.279 --> 00:29:28.480
And so we've been putting more of an ad out for our people.
00:29:29.519 --> 00:29:35.680
Actually, we didn't have so I had a couple weeks ago and I decided that I was gonna totally redo like my advertising.
00:29:35.759 --> 00:29:41.759
We're gonna kind of focus a little bit more on families and their pets and their farm animals.
00:29:41.839 --> 00:29:47.680
Um, because we had offered other things in the office, and it was just not fitting where we were going uh in the future.
00:29:47.839 --> 00:29:52.160
So um, and I wanted to scale a little bit better after some coaching I had.
00:29:52.720 --> 00:29:58.960
And we had I had just thought about putting them up.
00:29:59.119 --> 00:30:12.079
I was in the process of putting in new things on my website and kind of researching how I want to do redo my ads because it's been a while since I've done them, and I started getting a huge influx of animal patients.
00:30:12.480 --> 00:30:29.279
Like last week, I probably had in one day like four or five get on the schedule, which is not super common because I you know I'm trying to balance both, but we're still in the growing phase, and it was just kind of crazy because I took it down and it was literally the next day I'm getting all these calls.
00:30:29.359 --> 00:30:58.960
It was the phone's ringing off the hook, and I started getting even more on the schedule in the last week because we now put it on, you know, it's online and it's you know, we're doing a promo for our people, but it does tend to bring in both because I'm the only one who does both in a brick and mortar, so it's it's been an interesting transformation seeing how that's coming coming to pass.
00:30:59.039 --> 00:31:03.279
You know, you you have a plan, now it's you're seeing what the results are, yeah.
00:31:03.359 --> 00:31:06.000
And so both practices feed each other.
00:31:06.319 --> 00:31:11.119
Yes, and then I do one more thing before we get forget.
00:31:11.359 --> 00:31:15.519
You mentioned that you had told your husband we have to get this financed.
00:31:15.839 --> 00:31:20.559
Yes, we have to get this financed, and and that was two years ago, right?
00:31:22.400 --> 00:31:26.240
Have you got your money back yet?
00:31:26.559 --> 00:31:53.200
Uh yes, I I I now I invested not just in practice, I invested in coaching and invested in some additional classes because I I'm 14 years out in HEMAN and I kind of felt when I was out that even though I was confident in adjusting, I just you know that disparity from a year of animal chiropractic experience versus like 13 or 14 years.
00:31:53.359 --> 00:32:01.279
So I did bridge that cap a bit last year, and I've paid all, I mean, like I've earned all of that back, plus some.
00:32:01.359 --> 00:32:05.519
So I'm I'm probably closer double to all that all in.
00:32:05.680 --> 00:32:08.559
And so yeah, I'm getting more in now.
00:32:09.359 --> 00:32:19.119
So you've doubled the cost of your school plus the cost of coaching, plus the cost of what three advanced adjusting or four?
00:32:19.680 --> 00:32:21.279
Four, I believe.
00:32:21.599 --> 00:32:30.720
Advanced adjusting modules, plus plus you do insider's edge, plus you do mastermind all the time, and you've doubled it.
00:32:30.880 --> 00:32:34.240
And over that, yeah, over doubled it, yeah.
00:32:34.480 --> 00:32:57.519
And so, you know, anybody out there that thinks they can't afford an investment in themselves, you know, it's a huge recap because you know, I have I get a lot of equipment given to me to do research on.
00:32:57.839 --> 00:32:59.680
But I know what it's worth.
00:33:00.240 --> 00:33:03.359
You know, and you have a chi coil.
00:33:03.839 --> 00:33:04.480
Yes.
00:33:05.039 --> 00:33:07.680
Um, has it paid for itself yet?
00:33:07.920 --> 00:33:11.279
Uh so I don't use on the animals, I use it on myself.
00:33:11.839 --> 00:33:12.240
Right.
00:33:12.400 --> 00:33:14.880
And so you have a technically.
00:33:14.960 --> 00:33:21.519
I pay well, I pay that one in cash, but um yes, I've gotten my use out of it because and I love it.
00:33:21.759 --> 00:33:28.000
Um and I use other PEMF in the office, but you know, yes, but it has paid itself off too.
00:33:28.319 --> 00:33:36.400
Yeah, but but not double, you know, and it's harder to pay that stuff off than it is an investment in yourself.
00:33:36.720 --> 00:33:37.279
Yes.
00:33:37.599 --> 00:33:39.920
I've gotten a lot out of this experience.
00:33:40.079 --> 00:33:45.279
So this is not just about me adding animal chiropractic to my practices.
00:33:45.759 --> 00:33:50.400
It it was a huge start of personal growth for me.
00:33:50.640 --> 00:33:55.519
It's not just like, you know, chiropractic, animal chiropractic opened a bunch of doors for me.
00:33:55.920 --> 00:34:20.960
I have been needing kind of that guidance in that community and coaching because I had such a hard time finding a coach that got me here in all seriousness, because I I had gone through several times, I've gone through an interview and I've trying explain what what kind of things I wanted out of it, and they would just look at me funny, like, okay, well, if you think I'm weird, this is not gonna work out long term.
00:34:21.440 --> 00:34:24.559
And let's just be perfectly honest with people here.
00:34:24.719 --> 00:34:26.480
I am not your coach.
00:34:27.119 --> 00:34:28.079
No, no.
00:34:30.079 --> 00:34:31.519
No, um, Dr.
00:34:31.679 --> 00:34:32.880
Amy is my coach.
00:34:33.119 --> 00:34:41.360
She's been she's been my coach, you know, gosh, it's been you know, a year and a half for all sorts of things.
00:34:41.519 --> 00:34:45.920
I I will tell you, I I ask her opinion on a ton of things.
00:34:46.159 --> 00:34:48.639
I will tell you that she's put me in a lot of positions.
00:34:48.800 --> 00:34:54.880
You as well have put me in a lot of um places of growth, but I needed them.
00:34:54.960 --> 00:35:08.960
And sometimes you don't know always what you need, and sometimes you need to kind of that outside perspective on like, you know, I see you doing all these things, you know, what help you get to that next level is to do this, you know.
00:35:09.280 --> 00:35:15.920
I had gotten in contact with all sorts of people that have helped give me that next, you know, training.
00:35:16.159 --> 00:35:28.079
Um, this has all led me to doing things with like the animal chiropractic council for ICA, the some even course development.
00:35:28.400 --> 00:35:33.679
Um, how many master classes I've volunteered for.
00:35:33.920 --> 00:35:47.599
And you know, I learn something each time that I help research them or um put them in my practice and you know, helping other people that that nobody asks me to go help.
00:35:47.760 --> 00:35:53.280
I just I care so much about it in the profession that I want to help other people.
00:35:53.519 --> 00:36:01.360
So there's a lot of times I put time on my schedule when I know someone might be struggling a little bit because I'm like, oh, this should make you happy.
00:36:01.519 --> 00:36:03.840
So we need to like work on those things.
00:36:04.000 --> 00:36:08.880
And sometimes they're not ready for that next step to do full-blown like coaching.
00:36:08.960 --> 00:36:13.599
So sometimes it's good to have that nudge of some community, yeah.
00:36:13.679 --> 00:36:20.480
And that's what the smaller things are, but you know, sometimes people are um afraid to let go.
00:36:20.800 --> 00:36:22.559
Yes, I agree with that.
00:36:22.880 --> 00:36:44.559
Um, and and I've noticed that a lot that that we need to let go, and maybe you know, this is a you know animal chiropractic clinic chatter podcast, so maybe you need to let go of the veterinary paradigm when you take your animal to be treated by an animal chiropractor.
00:36:46.000 --> 00:37:13.840
Maybe if you are an animal chiropractor, you need to let go of the paradigm that you have of what an adjustment is worth, um, or of how an adjustment is a tool that helps other treatment modalities instead of making the adjustment the tool.
00:37:14.719 --> 00:37:15.360
Yes.
00:37:16.159 --> 00:37:27.280
So there have been a couple, and I keep in mind, I'm a I'm a human chiropractor, a chiropractor, and I've had several conversations with vets that do animal chiropractic.
00:37:27.840 --> 00:37:36.800
And it surprises me on when I hear that they're not able to do adjustments within their office that's not exploding with that.
00:37:37.119 --> 00:37:46.880
And keep in mind that animals don't regularly come into my office unless I ask or invite them in versus like a vet clinic.
00:37:47.119 --> 00:37:49.280
That's all you see all day long.
00:37:49.599 --> 00:37:54.320
And I can think of a million reasons why you would get an adjustment.
00:37:54.480 --> 00:38:08.559
And sometimes hearing it from a chiropractor who does more explaining on what a subluxation is and what a chiropractic adjustment is, and what instances or life changes or stressors um warrant a chiropractic adjustment.
00:38:08.639 --> 00:38:12.320
And sometimes it's here, it's good to hear from someone who does that.
00:38:12.559 --> 00:38:21.760
Um, like, you know, if you're taking your dog for surgery, well, why wouldn't you do an adjustment before and after surgery that helps with recovery?
00:38:22.000 --> 00:38:35.199
If they're sick, hey, why don't we do an adjustment, you know, today and a couple days later do one as they're working on detoxing and fighting with and using their immune system to fight these infections?
00:38:35.440 --> 00:38:38.639
Once you want to give it a little extra boost, you know.
00:38:39.760 --> 00:38:52.559
Yeah, there's not, I mean, and we talk in class about how there's not an animal that a vet that came into a veterinic or a chiropractic clinic that wouldn't benefit from an adjustment.
00:38:52.880 --> 00:39:12.000
And so, and I talk to chiropractors all the time that are not certified that say, Oh, yeah, well, we have people bring their dogs in and and I either don't adjust it or we, you know, tell them we don't know how, or we do adjust it, and sometimes they get better, sometimes they don't, but it's never really gonna part.
00:39:12.400 --> 00:39:13.440
Oh, yeah.
00:39:14.239 --> 00:39:20.800
Well, if you educate people about the expectation of what a chiropractic adjustment is, it is not a magic wand.
00:39:20.960 --> 00:39:24.239
You don't wipe your wand and they automatically get better.
00:39:24.480 --> 00:39:33.840
The body's gonna make a decision, the brain's gonna make a decision of what it's gonna do with that information and what it's gonna do with that detox or the optimization.
00:39:34.079 --> 00:39:38.320
Sometimes it just needs enough energy to pass on.
00:39:38.480 --> 00:39:40.159
I've had a chicken do that.
00:39:40.480 --> 00:39:52.800
I you know, you know, they they I had one instance where this chicken it was it was on the way out, but it was going in and out, and it was very confusing for the owner.
00:39:52.960 --> 00:39:57.199
And I said, Well, it sounds like it doesn't have enough energy to pass.
00:39:58.079 --> 00:40:06.639
And so when I had we did an adjustment and it just it calmed, and then it was able to do it peacefully, you know.
00:40:06.800 --> 00:40:12.320
I we've utilized it for those, but like we don't talk about how that that needs to happen.
00:40:12.480 --> 00:40:19.840
The brain has to make that decision to do that, um, as it well as it is to heal as well, you know.
00:40:20.079 --> 00:40:30.800
Um, and I know that can be sometimes a hot take, especially in the human chiropractic, because if you say that, then like everybody's taking lawsuits and all sorts of crazy things.
00:40:31.280 --> 00:40:38.239
Yeah, you bet because there's all these reasons not to get adjusted, yes, and or not to adjust people.
00:40:38.400 --> 00:40:42.880
And my reasons are, you know, if you're having a bad day, don't adjust anything.
00:40:43.039 --> 00:40:43.519
Yeah.
00:40:43.760 --> 00:40:47.760
Um there, giving it to people.
00:40:48.079 --> 00:40:56.639
If you don't know how to adjust that particular species, or if you're not comfortable with that particular species, don't be adjusting it, you know.
00:40:56.880 --> 00:41:19.440
Yes, yeah, and and if the animal, I mean, I can't tell you how many times I've been asked to adjust an animal that doesn't understand having people touch them, which which is not part of the human-animal bond.
00:41:19.679 --> 00:41:24.320
I mean, I don't know why you would have a dog in your house that won't allow you to pet it.
00:41:25.440 --> 00:41:28.000
That sounds a little counterintuitive.
00:41:28.400 --> 00:41:34.079
But but but we've had people bring dogs in that they're like, oh yeah, he doesn't let anybody touch him.
00:41:34.159 --> 00:41:38.880
And I'm like, well, then why do you think he's gonna allow me to do a chiropractic adjustment?
00:41:39.039 --> 00:41:39.199
Yeah.
00:41:39.440 --> 00:41:41.599
Or we have horses to you that.
00:41:42.000 --> 00:41:45.440
Oh yeah, he doesn't like anybody to touch him, so we don't ride him.
00:41:46.880 --> 00:41:48.800
Yeah, how'd you get him in the trailer?
00:41:48.960 --> 00:41:54.719
I mean, you know, um, so those are the only animals that I uh won't.
00:41:54.880 --> 00:41:57.519
And then they're like, Well, can't can't we sedate him?
00:41:57.760 --> 00:42:02.320
Well, sedation, thoughts, trauma, toxins cause subluxations.
00:42:02.960 --> 00:42:13.360
Waking up from anesthesia can be traumatic, especially for a wild animal that that's not sure how to interact with people in the first place.
00:42:14.239 --> 00:42:21.280
Um, and so then you're just gonna end up causing more subluxations than you removed.
00:42:21.679 --> 00:42:23.039
So that's not good.
00:42:23.280 --> 00:42:32.159
Yeah, that's kind of like one step back, you know, by giving them poison to help them tolerate it, so they got a detox from that too.
00:42:32.480 --> 00:42:37.360
So and then and then they're gonna get more subluxations when they wake up because they're drunk.
00:42:38.559 --> 00:42:54.800
So you're gonna you're gonna give them toxins to remove the subluxations that they have, then they're gonna have to get subluxations from the detox and from the drunkenness of waking up, and so now they have more subluxations than when you started.
00:42:55.840 --> 00:43:04.880
I mean, when we do food animal, we put them in a in an alleyway so that they can't move, you know, that so they have can't move and hurt.
00:43:05.039 --> 00:43:15.119
So it's not like we have to sedate them, and it's not like we have to put, you know, get real cl up close and personal with them, but you know, it's there's a safe way to adjust those.
00:43:16.880 --> 00:43:32.719
Yeah, bulls, and even some cows and stuff, you know, and sheep, you know, we don't necessarily put our hands on every, we don't have to catch every sheep that we adjust, because you can adjust sheep safely.
00:43:32.960 --> 00:43:41.599
Um, so anyway, and pigs, pigs we do have to touch, but you know, you can walk pigs and you don't have they don't have to be standing still.
00:43:41.920 --> 00:43:51.599
So anyway, it's it's there's a safe way to adjust stuff, and if there's not a safe way to adjust it without drugs, then you probably shouldn't be adjusting them.
00:43:52.000 --> 00:43:58.480
And if you don't and if you don't have the training, you know, I've seen vets that saw a YouTube video.
00:43:58.880 --> 00:44:05.280
Um, I've seen Chiropractors that say I went to school to adjust the spine, I can adjust any spine.
00:44:05.519 --> 00:44:09.599
Yeah, that was a human spine, that's no other spine.
00:44:10.239 --> 00:44:19.519
There are so many gravitational changes, and there is no adjust no chiropractic technique that is even close to animals.
00:44:19.599 --> 00:44:35.280
Well, and I mean, you know, quadrupeds, most of them, that's a completely different gravitational force on every part of that, and they're not laying on the table, you know, so you have a lot more stabilization, you know.
00:44:35.519 --> 00:44:48.079
It yeah, that there's plenty of forums out there that I'm a part of that tell me that oh, I love Animal Parapractic, and then they post uh Thompson move on Goat.
00:44:48.320 --> 00:44:49.679
Yes, that was a real one.
00:44:50.000 --> 00:44:56.559
And and I'm my husband knows that I just get I get all geek out about this.
00:44:56.639 --> 00:45:01.199
Like, there's no stabilization, there's no like you and Dr.
00:45:01.599 --> 00:45:02.159
You and Dr.
00:45:02.400 --> 00:45:03.840
Amy, you and Dr.
00:45:04.000 --> 00:45:04.239
Amy.
00:45:05.039 --> 00:45:10.639
Yes, I send her a lot, she sends me once too, and that was like it is an exchange.
00:45:11.039 --> 00:45:21.039
Um yeah, it's it's a it's like nails on a chalkboard because you know we spend so much time getting officially trained.
00:45:21.199 --> 00:45:26.480
I mean for just you know getting your basic training.
00:45:26.559 --> 00:45:29.039
I mean, for us it's 240 hours.
00:45:29.280 --> 00:45:47.440
I know 210 for ABCA, but that's a lot of hours, that's a lot of hands-on, that's a lot of adjusting that we're doing in a safe, guided, supervised, you know, situation, and and we're learning how to educate those through our patients and our clients.
00:45:48.559 --> 00:45:57.280
And that's not something that just because we learned in human chiropractic that you know that's good enough for everybody.
00:45:57.440 --> 00:46:15.840
I mean, there and I know people get results, but sometimes when I read some of these testimonies on human chiropractors that are not trained at all, and I'm like, well, be thanking God that you didn't hurt that animal and that it went your way.
00:46:16.000 --> 00:46:33.280
But you know, you can't assume that that's gonna happen every single time, and that you don't hurt someone that you know that you have the best intentions for, but in all reality, get the get the training, pay for it, take the test, and especially take the test.
00:46:33.679 --> 00:46:49.360
You know, that this is so important to have some level of standard that there is a lot of people that claim that they're doing chiropractic, but they are not trained in doing any of it, and sometimes those are the loudest social media hubs.
00:46:49.599 --> 00:46:54.400
I see them because and I cringe because people send me things like, oh, this is an adjustment.
00:46:54.559 --> 00:47:18.639
I'm like, I knew none of those moves, and I don't know what they're trying to fix, and it's just to try to get some dubbed audible in there, and that doesn't, you know, anybody who's trained in that correctly knows that that is not what we're looking for, you know, and especially even in food animal, that we there's a lot that just do, you know, basic training, which is great.
00:47:18.960 --> 00:47:33.280
However, that is only on dogs, cats, and horses, specifically dogs and horses, but there's so many other spines, and you have to spend the time to learn the anatomy and the bone structure and how that moves.
00:47:33.440 --> 00:47:38.880
So that way, that certain move that you think is gonna work is not gonna work, you know.
00:47:39.280 --> 00:47:45.920
Especially in poultry, how many different ways we adjust in poultry versus you know, or on a whole?
00:47:46.320 --> 00:47:47.920
I mean, we use different things.
00:47:48.079 --> 00:47:56.320
If people see some of my my photos and they see me with mallets, and I'm like, Oh, what do you do with those?
00:47:56.559 --> 00:47:58.960
I'm like, well, that's what you must do.
00:47:59.119 --> 00:48:18.800
Yeah, we're an extension of our arms, so we don't stick my hand in there, and then you know, and and chickens, you know, have a certain number of cervical vertebrae, and Greek geese have a different number, and turkeys have a different number, and so how many are you going to adjust?
00:48:19.119 --> 00:48:28.239
Um, and some poultry have fused um thoracic and chest, and some of them don't have fused thoracic and chest.
00:48:28.400 --> 00:48:33.440
Um, and it's not necessarily birds that fly versus birds that don't fly.
00:48:33.599 --> 00:48:40.559
You know, it's I I don't I can't tell you why, but like there's different ducks.
00:48:40.639 --> 00:48:53.760
Some ducks have fused, some don't, and it's you know, and when you eat you, you know, when you eat those animals, you know, like if you've ever eaten a chicken, you know that their thoracic spine is fused.
00:48:55.199 --> 00:48:55.679
Absolutely.
00:48:57.599 --> 00:48:59.119
Yeah, so yeah.
00:48:59.440 --> 00:49:01.760
Anyway, um, so cool.
00:49:02.000 --> 00:49:07.199
Um you talked a little bit about the training and certification exam and everything.
00:49:07.360 --> 00:49:18.079
Um, and that's been up there for you know, since the early 90s, the certification exam has been around, maybe even the late 80s.
00:49:18.239 --> 00:49:28.559
Um, the ABCA, the gold standard, um, it is the only certification versus a certificate, but the only certification exam that's out there.
00:49:28.719 --> 00:49:42.559
And I know you're doing some work with us um to try to get a next step for chiropractors and veterinarians, which would be separate so that each profession recognizes it.
00:49:42.800 --> 00:49:52.400
So we're looking at diplomates, and that would add like another 160 hours on top of what we already have.
00:49:52.719 --> 00:49:56.400
Yeah, and why I could round it up, so technically it's more than that.
00:49:56.639 --> 00:50:00.800
Um, but I've been working on this, at least me.
00:50:00.960 --> 00:50:03.280
I know you've been working on it a bit longer than me.
00:50:03.440 --> 00:50:14.239
I've been working on it the last year, plus, and you know, there has been a bit of pushback on ones who are not interested in doing a diplomat.
00:50:14.880 --> 00:50:17.519
And and that's okay, you don't have to do it.
00:50:17.679 --> 00:50:19.360
There's no requirement that you're gonna do it.
00:50:19.440 --> 00:50:47.920
There's a law that's gonna be changed that is gonna require you to do it, but we do need a standard, we need a high standard, and the only way to get these these laws to change to reflect direct access for chiropractors and also make it also its own entity um to be enforced and make it where veterinarians have to be trained in order to do animal chiropractic, yeah.
00:50:48.159 --> 00:50:56.320
Yes, and that's where I was going to that it makes both professions accountable and not that one holds more power than the other.
00:50:56.639 --> 00:51:15.199
We need each other to make this work because yes, chiropractors don't have to adjust, but we do not have the level of anatomy and physiology that veterinarians have, and veterinarians don't have the chiropractic training that they get from vet school, they they have to learn that separately.
00:51:15.360 --> 00:51:24.000
So we have to collaborate and we have to make this a bit more standard in terms of you know what we all can do.
00:51:24.320 --> 00:52:04.960
And this doesn't give power to one entity, it gives it to both, but with a standardized training, but making it to also work, you have to be certified to be able to touch animals, and it should be because if we're all complaining about these people that decide that they're gonna call themselves animal chiropractors with no training, and we don't put a standard on it, and and especially I'm in South Carolina, I'm working on with Baron to work on one of the 50 states that are trying to get the laws a bit more even across the board.
00:52:05.280 --> 00:52:17.760
And one of the things I hear is that well, so on so got um did a seminar and watched an uh uh an adjuster, and that's how they learned that.
00:52:18.000 --> 00:52:20.159
And well, we got to put them in too.
00:52:20.239 --> 00:52:22.239
And I'm like, no, we're not doing that.
00:52:22.480 --> 00:52:32.960
And I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just saying that you know what so my questions are okay, so what standard is that?
00:52:33.519 --> 00:52:34.880
Can you measure it?
00:52:35.360 --> 00:52:51.119
What level of accountability do you have that you know, with an ABCA certification, for instance, is that you're required to take 30 hours of continuing ad every three years, and you have to submit it in order to maintain it.
00:52:51.199 --> 00:52:59.119
Otherwise, if you don't, then you got to retake the test and you're not certified anymore if you don't keep up with it, which is a level of accountability.
00:52:59.440 --> 00:53:08.159
But if you are getting grandfathered in, no one's pushing you to take extra classes, no one's letting you get updated on what's different because things change.
00:53:08.559 --> 00:53:28.400
You know, sometimes it takes a couple decades for something to change in that or they're seeing a trend that they need them to, you know, update things on, but you're not giving yourself the level of professional growth in the profession if you are not making yourself accountable to doing these things that make you grow within it.
00:53:28.719 --> 00:53:30.480
Yep, yeah.
00:53:30.880 --> 00:53:39.840
So, and then you mentioned earlier, but we have there's master classes, which are a different thing.
00:53:40.159 --> 00:54:07.920
They're you know, basically through ACEs that we have these master classes, um, but we're also working with a university to have a master's degree, which would be um so if we look at um college credits versus um contact hours, so you said it's 240 hours, okay.
00:54:08.239 --> 00:54:13.440
Um 240 hours, it's about 15 to 1.
00:54:13.920 --> 00:54:20.400
So uh 240 hours is about 14 college credits, yes.
00:54:20.639 --> 00:54:29.360
So and to be a master's program, it has to be at least 60 college credits.
00:54:29.760 --> 00:54:31.760
So we're a long ways off.
00:54:32.000 --> 00:54:41.280
Well, that would also be where we have those requirements for a diplomat being meshed in with a basic program to make a you know master's.
00:54:41.679 --> 00:54:42.000
Yep.
00:54:42.239 --> 00:54:43.280
So anyway, yeah.
00:54:43.440 --> 00:54:47.920
So anyway, uh parting words of wisdom to animal owners.
00:54:49.920 --> 00:54:55.519
We think about mobility that chiropractic can only help.
00:54:55.840 --> 00:55:03.840
You know, we've kind of established that it is a thing, but it's way more than oh, my dog limps.
00:55:04.639 --> 00:55:08.079
Um, so a little tidbit about my office.
00:55:08.320 --> 00:55:11.119
50% of my office is anxiety.
00:55:12.559 --> 00:55:39.440
Um everybody brings me their anxious dog, and you know, and we always think like, oh, I didn't know that could help that, or allergies, or you know, something that's not what we think of as neuromuscular structural, but it does involve that because I mean it's the nervous system, the nervous system controls everything, so you know, we don't think about those little things like I have a double ear infection.
00:55:39.760 --> 00:55:41.519
Okay, can chiropractic help that?
00:55:41.599 --> 00:55:42.000
Yes.
00:55:42.239 --> 00:55:44.960
Do I have an infection in general?
00:55:46.559 --> 00:55:52.400
Pancreatitis, diabetes, you know, kidney issues, liver, can those be helped?
00:55:52.480 --> 00:55:53.199
Yeah, absolutely.
00:55:53.360 --> 00:56:03.840
We want to support those areas, you know, allergies is probably a mixture of like the food and and you know, chiropractic can help those things too.
00:56:04.079 --> 00:56:11.280
Um, you know, sometimes the littlest things can really make the biggest difference in like any kind of stressor.
00:56:11.519 --> 00:56:27.920
Um, I did a video in October over my cat having, she's a bangle, is she swallowed half a rubber ball, and there was no way around other than to her getting surgery because it was nothing was fixed in that.
00:56:28.159 --> 00:56:40.719
And I had gone into that office and said, said, not asked, um, I need to know the time that you are planning on giving my cat the surgery because I need to come in and adjust this animal.
00:56:40.880 --> 00:56:45.519
And they're like, okay, I said I'm available these days this time.
00:56:45.599 --> 00:56:46.639
Um, can I do it there?
00:56:46.719 --> 00:56:47.280
I'm like, okay.
00:56:48.559 --> 00:56:55.280
And again, when I went in there, I'm like, um, when will she be available so I can uh adjust her?
00:56:55.440 --> 00:56:59.119
So I don't I don't ask, I just tell that I'm showing up.
00:56:59.280 --> 00:57:21.679
Um, but me featuring that, you know, really showcase that you can do it after every surgery, before and after, for helping going through the surgery because you have to go under, but you also have to detox from all those chemicals, and but also takes a lot of stress off the body whenever they're coming out.
00:57:21.920 --> 00:57:32.480
And you know, from those, I mean, I've seen done pre- and post-dental, you know, that you know, every situation could warrant a chiropractic adjustment.
00:57:32.639 --> 00:57:36.320
And I think the only time they don't need an adjustment is if they're dead.
00:57:36.960 --> 00:57:39.519
Yep, and then it depends on how long.
00:57:39.679 --> 00:57:41.039
Yes, exactly.
00:57:43.199 --> 00:57:53.679
Um, all right, so advice for animals, advice for chiropractors for just regular chiropractors?
00:57:53.920 --> 00:57:54.320
Yep.
00:57:54.639 --> 00:57:54.960
Okay.
00:57:55.599 --> 00:58:02.960
If you're gonna add animals to your clinic, please go through the training and please take the test.
00:58:03.519 --> 00:58:09.920
Um, you can easily add animal chiropractic to your human practice.
00:58:10.400 --> 00:58:11.519
I have done that.
00:58:11.679 --> 00:58:21.360
I've been doing this for two years, and I now am hiring another chiropractor that is animal chiropractically trained.
00:58:21.519 --> 00:58:32.559
Um, so that way we can handle the whole family, not just the kids, not just the parents, um, not the generations only, um, but the pets as well.
00:58:32.880 --> 00:58:35.039
And it is easy to implement.
00:58:35.519 --> 00:58:39.599
I've I've been doing this in my 3,000 square foot office.
00:58:39.760 --> 00:58:43.440
I have a special room in my office near a door.
00:58:43.519 --> 00:58:50.079
So if they need to go outside quickly, they can go, or they if they're having issues, they can come in discreetly.
00:58:50.400 --> 00:58:54.400
And you can put this in any part of your office.
00:58:54.480 --> 00:59:02.000
I've I've seen other offices that kind of do more of an open adjustment with their humans, but it is easy to implement.
00:59:02.159 --> 00:59:10.880
And it's nothing has changed the office environment and made it a bit brighter than adding a few dogs that walk into your office.
