OM DENNE EPISODE
What does it truly mean to make a difference in a culture obsessed with viral metrics? In this special episode of The Point, Reverend David Whyte and Hafsah Godsil sit down with Jared Baldwin, a full-time minister and podcaster visiting all the way from the States, to dive deep into what it means to make a kingdom impact.
Jared kicks off the conversation with a powerful look at the lifestyle of Jesus, who went wide in his public ministry but chose to go deep by intimately pouring into the twelve disciples right next to him.
In this episode, we unpack:
- Chasing an Audience vs. Making an Impact: Why chasing fame can be a trap and how the ultimate impact happens in the everyday moments people don't see.
- Leaving the 99: Moving past the numbers game of social media and validating your calling through the transformation of just one person.
- The Origin of In The Lobby: Jared shares his journey from childhood creative video-making to working as a college resident assistant, where real-life lobby conversations inspired his digital ministry.
- Combating the "Ratchet" Noise: Rev David discusses the wrestling matches behind finding his voice and the collective need to push light, truth, and balance onto digital screens.
- Salt and Light (Matthew 5:13–16): An in-depth study of why salt cannot exist for itself and how minimizing or shrinking your light hides the truth from those trapped in darkness.
- The Hypocrisy Trap: A transparent discussion on why church folk and preachers alike carry the burden of reflecting Christ's transforming power through personal obedience.
- Your Media Diet: Two critical questions to ask yourself about who is discipling your brain throughout the week and how to start practically impacting your immediate circle through daily prayer.
BREAKING EXCLUSIVE: Jared announces his upcoming third book, No Good Who Met God, sharing a first-time public look into a story of spiritual growth and transformation!
