ABOUT THIS PODCAST 🔗
Hermann & Helmsdal is a Faroese film podcast about what’s on screen—and how it’s made.
Hosts Hermann Eliassen and Gudmund Helmsdal review new releases and classics, and sit down with filmmakers to talk story, craft, and the realities of making films from a small island nation. Most episodes are in Faroese; we switch to English when it serves the conversation. We cover festival titles, follow local premieres, and occasionally record live.
Expect clear opinions, practical insights, and conversations that connect the Faroes to the wider film world.
