ABOUT THIS PODCAST 🔗
Be With Me is a daily 7 minute chronological walk through the New Testament hosted by Michael Smith. It is for everyone who is curious about what Jesus actually said and did in the gospels. Most episodes will leave you with at least one good thought to chew on for the rest of the day. We start with the Bible and hopefully end with Awe. We are walking through the chronological events of Jesus' life and then thoughtfully considering them. It is meant to spur the devotional life of the Christian and the not-yet-Christian. We occasionally venture into the Old Testament when it helps our understanding of the New Testament events. Everybody has 7 minutes. Everybody needs to wonder. Be With Me is hosted by Michael Smith who has absolutely no special qualifications to do a podcast. He is not a pastor. He has not been to seminary. He does not lead a mega-church. He is not a professional and he has no more credentials than you do. He does, however, follow a great God with an observant eye and a curious heart. Each day, he starts with a study bible and aims for astonishment. ‘be with him’ for 7 minutes as he sets out daily to discover the God who invites us to ‘Be With Me.’

There comes a moment for every person, when the spiritual deal of lifetime comes to them. It leaves them with a choice in the response. "Will I sell everything to get this truly great treasure?" or, will I continue with business as usual; ho-hum.
Join me to hear of a man who sells it all …

Getting somewhere usually involves starting well and then a long obedience in a single direction. It is true of the path to becoming an airline pilot, a heart surgeon or a fruitful oak tree.
Similarly, being a blessing in the Christian life involves being planted well and then growing well. Genera…
Here is the tip of the day:
Faith can GROW. The faith you start with doesn't have to be the faith you END with. If you had "the faith of a mustard seed" before, then the call is to have faith slightly BIGGER than the mustard seed the next time.

Why would God allow the kingdom of evil to have contact with His Kingdom?
Well, He doesn't want any to perish. A little contact time might do the kingdom of evil some good. It might allow opportunities for the inhabitants to reach repentance.
If you wonder about this, I pray that you'd …
In the end, a discernment process is going to happen for the harvest and for the weeds.
The weeds will be branded, bunched, bound and burned. Don't be a weed.
The grain will also be identified accurately and gathered. Fortunately, it is into the "barn of the Master". This is definit…
Soil is sand, silt, clay, the right spacing, organic mater and water.
If you get it perfectly proportioned, you get LOAM.
Loam is the environment, that if you put new life into, it GROWS. The miracle of growth then is to end up with the fruit of the harvest. This is how you get a little tiny seed…
Smart farmers do not plant amidst THORNS. They first would perform a thornectomy of their land to yield fruitfulness.
Similarly, the thorns of the cares of my world and the calling of deceitful riches specifically thwart what this spiritual farmer is doing.

Being an air plant with roots that go nowhere is not the effort we are looking for. If you knew that difficulties were coming, how deep would you like your roots to go in preparation?
To make matters worse, we have a determined adversary that seeks to not let faith take root in the first place: Sat…
What if a secret was sent down from heaven? Would you be inclined to even hear it and if so, to really consider it? It is the parables that will help determine that.

Because there is opposition out there, it is not inappropriate to direct some care toward yourself. Today we will hear of occupying evil that has absolutely no regard for personal space.
Take care of yourself. Watch yourself carefully. Why? because there is evil about and it has no personal regard…
