ABOUT THIS PODCAST 🔗
Golf, grace, and the beautiful struggle for perfection.
Shanktification is a short golf devotional — usually under ten minutes — for the drive to the course. Each week, host Mark Moore starts with something that actually happened on a golf course (a breakfast ball, a 120 mph ball to the mouth, a four-hour round that contained twenty-three minutes of golf) and follows it somewhere you didn't expect it to go.
No swing tips. No guests to sit through. One story, one scripture, one thing to chew on for eighteen holes.
New episodes every Wednesday. Keep chasing better.

When was the last time you were genuinely amazed? As kids, we wondered about everything. We asked questions, explored, noticed things adults had stopped noticing. Somewhere along the way, many of us traded wonder for certainty. Golf has a funny way of bringing some of that wonde…

When Paul says, “Be imitators of me,” in 1Corinthians 4:16, that is a bold statement. But what if somebody actually imitated our lives. When I was a kid, I wanted to swing like Tiger Woods because I thought looking like him would help me become like him. We do the same thing in li…

A four-hour round of golf sounds like four hours of golf. But when you add up the actual time we spend hitting shots, there’s a whole lot of time left in between.
And maybe that’s the point.
We spend so much of life focused on the next shot—the next thing we need to accomplish, …

What makes a shot a nice shot? Is it the result, the expectation, or the standard we’ve created in our own heads?
Golf has a way of exposing how quickly we judge ourselves—and how easily we forget that the standard we’re chasing may not be the right one.

Every golfer has a bad habit they're tempted to overlook because it usually works. Spiritually, we do the same thing. In Jesus' message to the church in Thyatira, He praises faithfulness but confronts the compromise they've allowed to linger. Sometimes our biggest…
