In the very first episode of FROMHERE, host Vanessa Oake Hogan sits down with legendary journalist and community builder Ed Arnold.
Best known for his decades with the Peterborough Examiner, including years as managing editor, Ed helped shape the way the paper covered local stories, insisting on shining a spotlight on youth and adult sports. But his impact on Peterborough goes far beyond journalism.
Ed has been a driving force behind initiatives like Fisher Baseball Park and the Chiasson Children’s Pond, as well as a founder of Kids In Need. He’s also played a key role in fundraising efforts through the Gainey Foundation Concerts and the Peterborough Pro Hockey Alumni, all with the goal of supporting youth and strengthening the community.
In this inspiring conversation, Ed reflects on journalism, sports, community, and what it means to leave a lasting impact.
