Enjoy Blockbusting!
The summer blockbuster wasn't always the centerpiece of the moviegoing calendar. We head back to 1975 and Jaws to explore how Hollywood transformed summer into the season of giant movies, huge audiences, massive marketing campaigns, memorable merchandise, and lines that seemed to stretch around the block.
Then we take a trip through decades of summer movie history as Jay challenges Shua to identify the biggest movies of each year. Along the way, we'll revisit some beloved sci-fi adventures, superhero spectacles, animated classics, comedies, action movies, and plenty of films that made summer feel like the greatest time of year to go to the movies. So grab some popcorn, save your seat, and whatever you do, don't forget to turn off your phone!
