133 - Bitcoin ETF Talks with Jeff Yew from Monochrome

🎙️ Welcome to the Crypto Curious podcast – your weekly crypto crash course!

This week, Blake and I are broadcasting from our Perth studio while Craig hosts from Sydney with a very special guest, Jeff Yew. Jeff is a well-known figure in the Australian crypto scene and the founder and CEO of Monochrome Corporation, a multi-investment, crypto-asset financial services company. The Monochrome Bitcoin ETF (Ticker: IBTC) is Australia's first and only ETF to hold bitcoin directly, and was recently authorised under ASIC’s retail crypto-asset licensing category. Jeff has been involved in the crypto-asset markets since 2013, and we're thrilled to have him on the show.

Join us as we dive into Jeff's journey into crypto, discuss his time at Binance, and explore the exciting developments in the ETF market, including custody, trade execution, and ASIC regulations. We'll also cover adoption differences between Australia and the US, and get Jeff's thoughts on VanEck's recent filing for the first U.S. spot Solana ETF and its impact on the broader market. Plus, we'll talk about other popular ETFs and their relevance for cryptocurrencies. Don't miss this episode packed with insights and industry expertise!
