EXCLUSIVE — AARO’s first post-UFO files sit-down: Sen. Gillibrand’s scheduled to meet with Jon T. Kosloski
Who?
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
Ask a Pol asks:
When’s the last time you talked to AARO?
Key Gillibrand:
“Supposed to have another briefing,” Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand exclusively told Ask a Pol.
“And they’re supposed to give us an update. I don’t know when — it’s on the schedule, though. I would have thought I would have had it.”
Caught our ear:
Ask a Pol UAP informs Gillibrand that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s UAP Disclosure Act — which she’s been a sponsor of in previous years — was included in the House NDAA for the first time.
“Good,” Gillibrand tells us. “Wait — is it not in our version?”

TRANSCRIPT: Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (8-7-2026)
SCENE: Ask a Pol’s Matt Laslo peeks his head outside of the Capitol to see if any Senators are getting dropped off at the historic Carriage Entrance.

Matt Laslo: “When’s the last time you talked to AARO?”
Kirsten Gillibrand: “Supposed to have another briefing.”
Laslo: “Yeah?”
Gillibrand: “And they’re supposed to give us an update. I don’t know when — it’s on the schedule, though. I would have thought I would have had it.”
Gillibrand’s schedule — nothing public yet*
Laslo: “Kind of updating you now that they’ve released the four tranches of [UFO] files?”
Laslo: “And now that you have a new [AARO] head.”
Gillibrand: “Yeah?”
Laslo: “And just to hear what they’ve seen, you know, what they’ve seen, what they found.”
Laslo: “Do you — did you know that Schumer’s UAP Disclosure Act was included in the House NDAA for the first time?”
Gillibrand: “Oh, no. Good.”
Laslo: “Congressman Burlison...”
Gillibrand: “Wait — is it not in our version?”
Laslo: “I don’t believe so. I’ll look into it.”
Gillibrand: “But [Senator Mike] Rounds was telling me the problem’s always been with the House...”
Sen. Tim Sheehy and an aide are about to enter the US Capitol when Gillibrand stops Sheehy to discuss a bipartisan measure they’re collaborating on.
