Reynolds is on vacation, so this week it's a solo rabbit hole — and Elizabeth can't stop pulling the thread. Between Bill Moroney's retirement, the new Professional Jumping League, USETA's town halls, and the ongoing debate over whether USEF and USHJA should even stay together, it can feel like members are having five different arguments at once. Are they?
This episode digs into a viral Facebook debate over splitting USHJA from USEF — and the five completely different questions members were actually asking underneath it — the real numbers behind why showing costs so much, including what it actually costs a first-time adult amateur before she even leaves the driveway, and a real story from a USEF town hall where a biosecurity decision left everyone technically right and a horse show empty anyway. Plus: what USETA's judging clinic says about the difference between members naming a problem and someone actually building a fix.
It's not that members are fighting each other. It's that they're not always arguing about the same thing.
