In this episode, we talk with Brian Furr of Mindful Designs & The Award Winning My Furrs Guitar: a DIY guitar kit for children. Through his Paint, Build, Play program Brian seeks to empower youth to discover their authentic voice through music and share the value of STEAM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics)
Together we talk about the journey that lead Brian to building DIY guitar kits and some of the challenges of growing up as a first generation Jamaican who decided to walk the path of entrepreneurship. From performing guitar on the subway in New York, to becoming a lead inspector in Maryland, to managing an artist studio space; by following his dreams and trusting in the process Brian was able to start a business and win over 20k in funding (so far.) While we talk about his successes, we also discuss the importance of redefining failure as an opportunity for growth.
Tune in to learn more about Brian's journey.
Without a doubt, this is only the beginning of his success as an entrepreneur.
