Full Show For Friday October 2 2026

We kick off Friday with Nick’s newly repaired microphone and a study on “Irritable Male Syndrome” before Dawn brings a packed local-news block. We cover the 13-year-old charged as an adult in the fatal shooting of 16-year-old William Boyd in Norristown, the death of Belmont Charter teacher Zoe Schemm near 19th and Lombard, and the viral Pat’s King of Steaks incident involving a cheesesteak thrown into longtime employee Tom Francano’s face. Philadelphia sports somehow makes the mood worse as the Phillies’ season ends with a 6-2 Wild Card loss to Atlanta, the Flyers fall in overtime to New Jersey, and the Eagles carry a long injury list into Sunday’s Rams game.
Our Big Take centers on Flock cameras and the growing fight over automated license-plate surveillance. We get into privacy concerns, law-enforcement uses, reported misuse, Flock’s crime-solving claims, mystery cameras discovered in Florida, and bipartisan scrutiny from Sens. Katie Britt and Raphael Warnock. From there, we turn to the Middle East as the U.S. prepares to send another carrier group and thousands more personnel to the region amid the continuing conflict with Iran. We also react to Pete Hegseth’s State of the Force remarks on military standards, grooming, physical readiness and merit.
Sean Farash joins us for a loaded Friday Cut Sheet as we debate the Trail Blazers firing newly hired broadcaster Braiden Bell over social-media posts made when he was a teenager, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s description of the Cornell sexual-assault allegations, and former Steelers coach Mike Tomlin revealing the massive Minecraft city he builds over 12 years. We also get into Tennessee’s failed attempt to execute Christa Pike, Friday Fight Club, Rich Zeoli joining the crew, our Eagles-Rams picks, and a packed Dawn’s Big Three featuring Upper Darby’s proposed four-day school schedule, Kristi Noem’s divorce, and Chester County’s phorid-fly problem.
