Welcome to K-Buzz, your daily source for the latest Korean entertainment news.
00:00:21.600 --> 00:00:25.839
We're your hosts bringing you all the hottest updates from the K-pop and K-drama world.
00:00:26.079 --> 00:00:30.719
Today is July 18th, 2026, and we've got some incredible stories to share with you.
00:00:30.960 --> 00:00:31.839
Let's dive right in.
00:00:32.079 --> 00:00:42.880
Super Junior's Choice C1 has sparked conversation with his latest social media activity, posting a photo of the Nameless Stars Memorial at the National Intelligence Service without explanation.
00:00:43.200 --> 00:00:56.960
The memorial honors fallen intelligence operatives, whose identities remain classified, featuring stars instead of names, and the inscription, following the path of those who silently became stars, we will dedicate ourselves to protecting our homeland.
00:00:57.119 --> 00:01:10.400
This comes amid ongoing attention to Saiwan's social commentary, following his recent opening of a Threads account where he stated he wants to think about our country's future and defended his national identity after criticism over working in China.
00:01:10.719 --> 00:01:21.840
The 20-year veteran idol who recently completed Super Junior's 20th anniversary tour, Super Show 10, continues to balance his entertainment career with increasingly visible social messaging.
00:01:22.319 --> 00:01:31.359
Trot Queen Song Inn's new music video for What If It's Not a Flower has surpassed 1 million views, reinforcing her status as a genre powerhouse.
00:01:31.519 --> 00:01:43.920
The track represents the third installment of her Song in X Legend project, this time collaborating with DJ Cherry to blend Brazilian festival house sounds with Samba House rhythms and traditional trot sensibilities.
00:01:44.159 --> 00:01:55.359
The AI-powered music video showcases innovative production techniques, while the song delivers warm encouragement to those facing hardship, comparing them to resilient plantains that bloom even in barren soil.
00:01:55.680 --> 00:02:08.319
Song Gain performed the track live for the first time at the 24th Olungdo Squid Festival on July 17th, where she commanded the stage with her signature emotive vocals and sparked enthusiastic audience sing-alongs.
00:02:09.599 --> 00:02:20.800
Singer Gina has broken her silence after a decade away from the spotlight, posting an emotional video message titled Hello Again, Chapter 2, Finding My Voice, Ahead of Her Comeback.
00:02:21.280 --> 00:02:37.280
The artist, who rose to fame in 2010 with the hit I'll Turn Off So You Can Live Well, addressed the years of speculation and headlines that followed her 2016 conviction for prostitution mediation, which resulted in a 200,000, one fine.
00:02:37.599 --> 00:02:51.439
In her English narrated message, Gina explained that her silence wasn't due to having nothing to say, but because she wasn't ready, describing it as a necessary choice to survive and a process of waiting to heal wounds and find my own voice.
00:02:52.080 --> 00:03:04.159
She emphasized that her return to music isn't about proving her worth to strangers, but about coming home to where she feels most comfortable, promising to share her story through her own voice rather than through headlines and rumors.
00:03:04.800 --> 00:03:15.120
From Miss 9, member Lee Cheyung has finally addressed the electronic cigarette controversy that damaged her image three years ago, revealing unexpected aftermath from the incident.
00:03:15.360 --> 00:03:28.400
During an appearance on the YouTube channel, If I Open My Mouth, Cheung explained that after she posted a photo in 2023 that appeared to show an e-cigarette device, the company behind the product flooded her with contact requests.
00:03:28.639 --> 00:03:43.199
While neither she nor her agency commented on the smoking allegations at the time, the controversy was significant enough that she ranked second in a 2024 online poll asking which stars suffered image damage due to smoking, trailing only Blackpink's Jenny.
00:03:43.439 --> 00:03:55.439
The full details of how the e-cigarette company reached out and how Che Yung responded will be revealed in the upcoming full episode, as her group, From In Nine, prepares to release their second full album, Glow Me, on July 21st.
00:03:57.360 --> 00:04:09.680
Band Our R has released their first full-length album, Answer, after eight years since debut, marking the conclusion of their ambitious trilogy, exploring human emotion and choice.
00:04:10.719 --> 00:04:23.519
The 12-track album includes the title song I'm Just Prickly Mould, along with collaborations with Japanese musicians Rijay and Hokimoto Sora on tracks Dive and Hold My, respectively.
00:04:23.839 --> 00:04:37.279
Following their previous mini-albums I and Can't, which explored themes of wandering, confusion, frustration, and despair, Answer focuses on the process of finding solutions amid chaotic circumstances.
00:04:37.680 --> 00:04:53.839
The band will host a listening event at Surokgok Recording Studio in Marpogu through July 26th, followed by a performance titled Oasis 3 on the 26th at Garani Special Forces, with longtime collaborator singer-songwriter Shimje Hayon.
00:04:55.439 --> 00:05:01.600
BTS made history at their Paris concert as French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte.
00:05:02.000 --> 00:05:08.319
Macron attended the show at Stade de France, where 88,000 fans gathered on July 17th.
00:05:08.560 --> 00:05:18.079
The presidential couple sat in VIP seats, holding light sticks and filmed the performance on their phones, with the stadium erupting in cheers when they appeared on the big screen.
00:05:18.319 --> 00:05:29.360
French media outlet Le Figaro reported that the visit symbolizes respect and tribute to South Korea as the two nations celebrate 140 years of diplomatic relations this year.
00:05:29.680 --> 00:05:49.600
President Macron later posted a video of BTS performing dynamite on his social media with the caption Welcome to Paris, while the group prepares for their next major appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final halftime show in New York, New Jersey Stadium on July 19th, alongside Madonna Shakira and Justin Bieber.
00:05:51.120 --> 00:05:52.000

BTS's album, Arrirang, has been named one of the biggest albums of 2026 so far by the UK official charts, landing at number 20 on the official biggest album's top 40 list.
00:06:06.560 --> 00:06:20.079
The chart, which combines physical CD sales, digital downloads, and audio and video streaming from January through mid-July, placed BTS ahead of Michael Jackson's Thriller at 21, and among legendary acts like Oasis and Queen.
00:06:20.319 --> 00:06:29.600
Remarkably, only six artists on the list released their albums in 2026, with BTS joining Drake, Harry Stiles, and Olivia Rodrigo in this exclusive group.
00:06:29.759 --> 00:06:47.519
The album debuted at number one on the official album's top 100 in early April, and has maintained its presence in the top 40 for 17 consecutive weeks, currently sitting at 35 while also charting across multiple official charts categories, including vinyl, physical, and streaming rankings.
00:06:54.720 --> 00:06:59.839
Set for digital release on July 26th and physical release on the 29th.
00:07:00.079 --> 00:07:12.399
The three-track release features collaboration with rising Japanese musicians, including lyricist Yurika, known for the viral short form hit Because I Like You, who penned lyrics capturing delicate girlish emotions.
00:07:12.639 --> 00:07:24.879
Global hitmaker Okazima Kanata, who has worked with BTS and Snowman, composed the dynamic rock track that delivers a warm message about friendship providing comfort amid life's pressures and anxieties.
00:07:25.120 --> 00:07:39.199
The timing coincides with Eyelit's ongoing Eyelit Live Press Start in Japan tour across five Japanese cities, which sold out so quickly that additional limited view and standing room tickets were added to meet overwhelming fan demand.

00:08:04.720 --> 00:08:13.600
