Unlock the secret to lasting change by transforming your identity — not just tweaking behavior. If you've ever wondered why old habits persist despite your best efforts, this episode reveals how biblical principles and psychological insights align to help you become the person God created you to be.
Most people focus on changing external actions, but true transformation begins deep beneath the surface — at the level of who you believe you are. Dr. Eric Moyer with Pastor Erik Miller dive into the biblical framework of the three S's: Submit, Sacrifice, and Substitute — a powerful process that redefines your identity to align with God's design. They unpack how God's grace leads us to reflect on our inner self, identify old patterns rooted in false beliefs, and systematically replace them with truths that foster genuine change.
You'll discover:
- The difference between behavior modification and heart transformation — and why the latter is essential
- The "identity autopsy": a practical tool for diagnosing what triggers old habits
- How to walk through the stages of redeeming your core self, one step at a time
This episode emphasizes that authentic change isn’t achieved through white-knuckle effort but through a deep overhaul of your identity — a process of renewal that requires grace, accountability, and patience. Whether you're struggling to break free from certain habits or seeking a clearer pathway to who you truly are in Christ, this discussion offers practical steps to start living out your new self today.
