On this week's CoinMarketRecap, Bitcoin worth $3.6 billion has been recovered in the U.S. — and it's linked to the Bitfinex hack that happened all the way back in 2016.
The case has attracted the attention of traditional media outlets thanks to the colorful life of Heather Morgan. The 31-year-old, who is accused of laundering the stolen crypto, was also a Forbes contributor and a (pretty bad) amateur rapper. Molly Jane Zuckerman joins Connor to discuss this week's developments… and why it might actually be bullish for BTC.
Connor and Molly Jane also discuss the firestorm surrounding Brantly Millegan. The Ethereum Name Service executive has lost his job after tweets he had written back in 2016 emerged. Even his own colleagues had described his remarks about homosexuality and abortion as unacceptable — and many ENS users were outraged. Can the crypto industry move beyond being overwhelmingly white and male — and does the sector have a toxicity problem that simply cannot be fixed?
We've also got more headlines than you can shake a stick at. Is Apple finally going to accept crypto payments? Are new Bitcoin investors still underwater after the world's biggest cryptocurrency surged to $45,000? Is Russia still planning to ban crypto? Why did the BBC cancel a documentary about a self-made crypto millionaire? And *how many* exchanges are planning to advertise at the Super Bowl? We'll tell you everything — including why SHIBA INU's price has surged over recent days.
