hugh everett III (; November 11, 1930 – July 19, 1982) was an American physicist who first proposed the many-worlds interpretation (MWI) of quantum physics, which he termed his "relative state" formulation. In contrast to the then-dominant Copenhagen interpretation, the MWI posits that the Schrödinger equation never collapses and that all possibilities of a quantum superposition are objectively real.
Discouraged by the scorn of other physicists for MWI, Everett ended his physics career after completing his PhD. Afterwards, he developed the use of generalized Lagrange multipliers for operations research and applied this commercially as a defense analyst and a consultant.
The Multiverse—From Epicurus to Comic Books and Beyond
On this ID the Future, Discovery Institute senior fellow Andrew McDiarmid explores the roots of the idea that our universe is just one of many universes, an idea stretching back to the ancient atomists and given new life in the modern era, first by physicist Hugh Everett. McDiarmid then looks at ho…

Are You Already Dead in Another Timeline? The Terrifying Theory of Quantum Immortality
A 1957 Princeton theorem proves the human mind has no apparatus to register its own non-existence — under the many-worlds interpretation, consciousness remains condemned to anchor itself in branches where it survives, however improbable. Hugh Everett's quantum mathematics and Neville Goddard's 1949…

The Many-Worlds Theory of Manifestation: Why 'I Wonder' Works (And What Déjà Vu Really Means)
What if manifestation isn't about creating a single fixed future — but about which branch of an already-existing field of possibilities you find yourself moving into? In this video, I share two of my favourite manifestation stories — including a chance reunion in New York that took five years to ar…
131- The Kardashev Scale of Civilisations
How do you quantify how big a civilisation is? In the 1960s, Nikolai Semenovich Kardashev came up with a scale based on how much energy hypothetical civilisations can exploit- which has been modified by others to stretch all the way from multiverse levels of energy usage down to the fabric of space…
