In this episode of Weaving Our Future: Stories for a Fair Economy, Jane speaks with Fatema Boxwala, founder of Tech4Taxes, and Iana Mae Abinales, Communications Specialist at the Washington State Budget and Policy Center, about Washington’s upside-down tax code, what’s at stake in state’s budget deficit, and the Millionaires Tax that was passed earlier this year. They unpack what the Millionaires Tax actually does, and why it’s at risk of being overturned in November. Plus, why Fatema founded a coalition for tech workers to organize around tax policy, and what you need to know about Washington’s tax code going into election season.
