معلومات عن هذه الحلقة
In today’s insightful episode of The Mastering Life Podcast, your host Paul Lowe interviews a very well-known personal trainer, John Batterby. Paul and John discuss their experiences about pre-celebrations and dive into what it is, how it works and how you can benefit.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Pre-celebration. Could be something like a a family get-together, Christmas, weddings etc.
- With this in mind, lots of people will take their eyes off what they're doing; particularly their goals & short-term goals.
- In this time, you need to be focused on what you do or were supposed to do and also, you should keep in mind that you need to stay healthy throughout for you to be able to work efficiently and achieve your success.
- What happens when you start dodging and your cutting things out from your food; what your body requires, your metabolic rate slows down then what happens is your body starts panicking and start storing fat so at the end of the celebration when you go back to normal you start putting weight on very easy because the metabolic rate is really slow.
- If you are somebody that doesn't actually do any physical exercise/ training and its celebration time, carry on eating as normal but make sure you're eating clean, healthy things.
BEST MOMENTS
- “Most people only want to do things excessively over a short period. A pre-period of celebration is getting ready and relaxed - spending some quality time with the families."
- “It’s best to keep the physical exercise/ training going.”
- “Eat clean, eat well but intensify your training if it’s on celebration period.”

ABOUT THE HOST
Something that’s never been attached to Paul is the label ‘normal’ – for which he is immensely proud. He definitely subscribes to being one of those mentioned – in the Steve Jobs quote:
“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
