00:00:22.399 --> 00:00:26.960
What is up?
00:00:26.960 --> 00:00:50.000
Thank you for joining us today as we explore our latest purpose-driven journey, wealth alignment, where we learn about redefining the price of success, how to move from the hustle-to-all cost mentality to true wealth alignment, the importance of restoring personal health and faith during business crisis, and how to scale a practice that supports rather than depletes your life.
00:00:50.000 --> 00:00:55.679
We've all heard that if you work hard enough, you can buy your way out of any problem.
00:00:55.679 --> 00:01:04.319
But what happens when you work yourself into a corner where you have the revenue, but you've lost your health, marriage, and your faith in the process?
00:01:04.319 --> 00:01:05.439
Dr.
00:01:05.439 --> 00:01:08.159
Gregory Pursley, otherwise known as Dr.
00:01:08.159 --> 00:01:14.400
G, he's a chiropractor, CEO of PC Medical Centers, and the author of Fix Your BS.
00:01:14.400 --> 00:01:16.640
He's not just a business coach.
00:01:16.640 --> 00:01:22.400
He's a man who had to hit rock bottom in his own life to discover what wealthy actually means.
00:01:22.400 --> 00:01:23.280
Dr.
00:01:23.280 --> 00:01:26.640
G and I connected through Dan Martell's elite mastermind.
00:01:26.640 --> 00:01:28.879
He is the embodiment of the Vici mission.
00:01:28.879 --> 00:01:37.760
His story of moving from the state of financially salvation financial salvation seeking to holistic wealth alignment is a powerful narrative.
00:01:37.760 --> 00:01:45.040
He understands unique pressure medical practice owners face, the tendency to equate more work with more security.
00:01:45.040 --> 00:01:50.079
And his journey proves that you can scale a business without sacrificing your household.
00:01:50.079 --> 00:01:52.719
Today we're exploring wealth alignment.
00:01:52.719 --> 00:01:57.760
How do you rebuild a life and a business that is actually worth living?
00:01:57.760 --> 00:01:59.920
As always, we filtered Dr.
00:01:59.920 --> 00:02:05.040
G's journey through the Vici pillars faith, family, fitness, and finance.
00:02:05.040 --> 00:02:05.599
Dr.
00:02:05.599 --> 00:02:07.920
G, so excited to have you on, my man.
00:02:07.920 --> 00:02:08.639
Welcome to the show.
00:02:09.039 --> 00:02:09.599
Thanks, Joe.
00:02:09.599 --> 00:02:10.240
I appreciate you.
00:02:10.240 --> 00:02:11.039
I love to be here.
00:02:11.039 --> 00:02:14.319
I'm happy to provide as much value as possible to your listeners.
00:02:14.800 --> 00:02:18.240
Well, we're going to extract every bit we can in the short amount of time we got.
00:02:18.240 --> 00:02:21.759
So let's jump right into the breakthrough from hustle to alignment.
00:02:21.759 --> 00:02:29.360
In 2008, you were handed a massive life challenge with your son's diagnosis, and your initial instinct was earn more money.
00:02:29.360 --> 00:02:40.159
Looking back at that version of yourself, what was the exact moment or breaking point where you realized that your definition of success was actually a liability to your family?
00:02:41.680 --> 00:02:42.240
Wow.
00:02:42.479 --> 00:02:43.759
That's a great question.
00:02:43.759 --> 00:02:53.680
Um, it really didn't come about until about 10 years later after um I finally looked up and came to and thought, am I really building the life I want to build?
00:02:53.680 --> 00:02:57.599
That was the moment where it was like, I've got to change how I'm doing this.
00:02:57.599 --> 00:03:05.280
Um, I remember coming home from from treating all day, and um my wife was like, Um, you know, what's going on?
00:03:05.280 --> 00:03:06.080
You seem unhappy.
00:03:06.080 --> 00:03:09.520
I said, I just I don't see how this is gonna build the life I want to build.
00:03:09.520 --> 00:03:11.439
We can't take vacations like I want to take.
00:03:11.439 --> 00:03:13.840
We can't, I can't leave the office like I want to leave.
00:03:13.840 --> 00:03:16.800
And it was simply I didn't understand how to build a business.
00:03:16.800 --> 00:03:28.159
And so um I made the decision right then and there that I was going to figure out how to build the business side so that way I could do those things and have more freedom to hang out with my family and do the things I want to do.
00:03:28.560 --> 00:03:31.039
Yeah, and we all get to that breaking point, right?
00:03:31.039 --> 00:03:34.400
Um, and then you have a book, uh Fix Your BS.
00:03:34.400 --> 00:03:39.120
It's titled, which I assume stands for more than just business strategy.
00:03:39.120 --> 00:03:49.199
What's the BS that holds most high performing practice owners back from scaling their revenue while simultaneously improving their quality of life?
00:03:49.439 --> 00:03:57.840
So I wrote the book Fix Your BS, and it's a it's a play on words, but we talk about BS being belief systems and BS being business systems.
00:03:57.840 --> 00:04:04.479
So your belief systems and your business systems have to be aligned in order to actually achieve great results in your business.
00:04:04.479 --> 00:04:07.919
Um, it all came from the the 10 years.
00:04:07.919 --> 00:04:09.599
You talked about my son when he was born.
00:04:09.599 --> 00:04:13.199
He was born with dwarfism, uh, which is a random genetic change.
00:04:13.199 --> 00:04:15.599
We had no idea the day he was born, they said, Hey, guess what?
00:04:15.599 --> 00:04:17.199
Your son has achondroplasia.
00:04:17.199 --> 00:04:20.720
We already had a daughter that was about two and a half years old at the time.
00:04:20.720 --> 00:04:24.959
And um he ended up having a lot of medical complications.
00:04:24.959 --> 00:04:28.720
He had a trach and event put in and um helped to help him breathe.
00:04:28.720 --> 00:04:33.759
He was on oxygen, he had uh multiple different machines that helped him live, survive.
00:04:33.759 --> 00:04:36.160
And so for about eight years, that's what it was.
00:04:36.160 --> 00:04:37.279
It was survival.
00:04:37.279 --> 00:04:52.879
Um and I did a lot of work with Tony Robbins and and all the greats in that mental side of trying to figure out well, you know, how can I compute this and how can I turn this into a positive as opposed to a woe is me story.
00:04:52.879 --> 00:05:11.279
And so um, that's when it came came to that point where it was like, man, I've got to figure out how to correct my own belief systems and what's possible, and then also translate that over into my business systems so that way those two things can actually align and grow.
00:05:11.279 --> 00:05:13.839
Um, and and that's that's what ended up happening.
00:05:13.839 --> 00:05:16.720
So now um I'm a partner in a business.
00:05:16.720 --> 00:05:22.720
I've got multiple uh other businesses um that are doing very well, and it's because of that that understanding.
00:05:22.720 --> 00:05:29.439
And so what I teach people is not just the um strategies of the tactical side.
00:05:29.439 --> 00:05:46.720
Here's how to get more new patients and here's how to get more new leads, which is important, but more important is the owner's belief and the belief systems that run behind the owner's decisions and also the people within that company's decisions.
00:05:46.720 --> 00:06:04.399
So by talking about both of those things, we hit the strategic side and we hit the actual um thought process side, the emotional, the mental, the capacity of where you see that business going and how to translate that into the actual tactical side as well.
00:06:04.399 --> 00:06:22.319
So uh that that's what I came to terms with or come to come to learn um over the last seven years since I decided to put that book out and then also um you know build the business behind uh the actual, you know, my actual my actual brand and and what I'm doing.
00:06:22.480 --> 00:06:27.519
So um and that's the and that's the fix your BS philosophy right there.
00:06:27.519 --> 00:06:31.120
And it's closely aligned to like the Vici philosophy.
00:06:31.120 --> 00:06:35.040
You know, it's we we don't just say it in this order, that is the order.
00:06:35.040 --> 00:06:38.879
Faith has got to be number one, or your belief system, right?
00:06:38.879 --> 00:06:43.680
Your why, your purpose, it's gotta be number one, and then your family, right?
00:06:43.680 --> 00:06:46.560
You know, those two things go really hand in hand.
00:06:46.560 --> 00:06:48.480
Everything else falls into place, right?
00:06:48.480 --> 00:06:50.879
The woe is me phase of your life.
00:06:50.879 --> 00:06:56.480
If you can break away from that, you look back on that and be like, how limiting was that, right?
00:06:56.480 --> 00:07:01.519
It just so liberating once you've removed yourself from that.
00:07:01.519 --> 00:07:08.800
And then when bad things happen and challenges happen, you're just like you're just built differently once you've made that mindset shift.
00:07:08.800 --> 00:07:19.040
And I'm curious from an operational standpoint, how did you re-engineer your operations at PC medical centers to prioritize your presence at home?
00:07:20.879 --> 00:07:26.800
Well, uh, number one, I changed my belief of I have to do everything to who can do everything.
00:07:26.800 --> 00:07:33.839
Um, instead of me tactically figuring out how to do something, I would say, well, who already knows how to do that?
00:07:33.839 --> 00:07:42.959
And how can I get the result that I'm after and utilize their time and their expertise and their um the understanding of whatever I'm trying to accomplish.
00:07:42.959 --> 00:07:47.120
Um then we we set clear expectations.
00:07:47.120 --> 00:07:51.680
You know, we use the SMART goals, uh, specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, timely.
00:07:51.680 --> 00:07:54.639
We say, you know, when is this project going to be done?
00:07:54.639 --> 00:07:58.720
How, you know, what uh we go through that whole process.
00:07:58.720 --> 00:08:01.360
When, how, what resources do you need?
00:08:01.360 --> 00:08:02.480
What's the expectation?
00:08:02.480 --> 00:08:04.079
And we set those clear boundaries.
00:08:04.079 --> 00:08:06.639
Once we have that, then it becomes pretty simple.
00:08:06.639 --> 00:08:08.000
Um, then we have check-ins.
00:08:08.000 --> 00:08:12.560
And so I learned that that process, that strategy through my mentors.
00:08:12.560 --> 00:08:15.920
Um, and it's been, you know, very effective.
00:08:15.920 --> 00:08:23.519
Uh, and that'll also allowed me to set boundaries of what was important to me and say, look, I'm gonna leave at X amount of, you know, X amount of time during the day.
00:08:23.519 --> 00:08:24.720
I'm not gonna stay until seven.
00:08:24.720 --> 00:08:25.680
I'm gonna leave at five.
00:08:25.680 --> 00:08:30.639
I'm gonna go hang out with my wife, I'm gonna go to this thing with my kids or whatever.
00:08:30.639 --> 00:08:42.799
And just that one shift in my own perspective, what I learned was that I'm teaching people how to treat me in that process and what their expectations are of me.
00:08:42.799 --> 00:08:51.440
And that I was responsible for my own happiness and my own actions and my own schedule.
00:08:51.440 --> 00:09:02.480
And that my excuses that I was making that I was changing my schedule based on who else wanted me to have a schedule or what their schedule should be for me.
00:09:02.480 --> 00:09:06.159
Um, once I changed that perspective and took control of that, then guess what?
00:09:06.159 --> 00:09:10.879
I didn't uh I didn't have to live by everybody else's rules anymore.
00:09:11.200 --> 00:09:12.960
Yeah, so liberating.
00:09:12.960 --> 00:09:17.840
Let's let's uh let's dial in uh the finance pillar a little bit more.
00:09:17.840 --> 00:09:26.399
Many owners think they need more cash to fix their problems, but you argue that wealth is about cultivating a rich, balanced life.
00:09:26.399 --> 00:09:35.440
How do you help other doctors and entrepreneurs distinguish between chain chasing financial relief and building a sustainable asset?
00:09:36.080 --> 00:09:42.080
Well, revenue in a company doesn't tell you the whole story because revenue is vanity, profit is sanity.
00:09:42.080 --> 00:09:50.639
So it's all about cash flow and profitability because I've been in situations where I've had zero money and negative cash flows, and it's terrifying, scary.
00:09:50.639 --> 00:09:52.720
It's you worry about stuff.
00:09:52.720 --> 00:10:10.480
Um, and if there's no consistency and you feel like everything is under your control or you're responsible for all the numbers, instead of delegating the responsibility to someone else and say, you are responsible for hitting these goals, ultimately I take responsibility for me and my actions.
00:10:10.480 --> 00:10:23.759
And that is an action is delegating that responsibility to someone else and saying, hey, you are in control of the marketing and you need to hit these parameters and these goals and these numbers, and then getting that agreement with them.
00:10:23.759 --> 00:10:35.360
Um, so really it it always comes back up to the CEO or the business owner, all the responsibility really does, but you are responsible in delegating those responsibilities to other people.
00:10:35.360 --> 00:10:39.360
And so if you allow people to push it back up the line to you, well, then guess what?
00:10:39.360 --> 00:10:43.039
You're gonna get stuck with all the stuff, and that's how people get bogged down.
00:10:43.039 --> 00:10:48.720
That's why most businesses in America either have um less than two or less than 12.
00:10:48.720 --> 00:10:52.559
So one to two employees or two to 12 employees.
00:10:52.559 --> 00:11:06.559
There's only 600,000 businesses that have more than 12 employees in America, and the reason why is most small businesses run on an individual that knows how to do a thing, and then they get other people to support them, not build a business.
00:11:06.559 --> 00:11:10.720
Um, two different mindsets, two different beliefs, two different strategies.
00:11:10.720 --> 00:11:13.600
Uh, so you have to take different actions with both of those.
00:11:13.600 --> 00:11:23.600
Um, so yeah, I don't know uh if that answered the original question, but that that's just kind of my perspective over the years of how it's evolved and um how I look at things differently.
00:11:23.840 --> 00:11:27.919
Well, and when you when you see those type of business owners, you know, burnout comes to mind.
00:11:27.919 --> 00:11:33.759
I know even in the medical community, that word is just a part of that community.
00:11:33.759 --> 00:11:41.039
When a client comes to you burned out and buried in their practice, what's the first alignment move you make?
00:11:42.080 --> 00:11:44.960
The first thing I ask is, what would you like it to be like?
00:11:44.960 --> 00:11:47.759
What's a perfect scenario for you?
00:11:47.759 --> 00:11:56.000
Because most people spend all their time focused on what they don't like instead of spending time focusing on what they do like.
00:11:56.000 --> 00:12:04.639
So if you ask yourself, and you're very honest with yourself, in a neutral emotional state, what do I want my practice to look like?
00:12:04.639 --> 00:12:06.480
What do I want my days to look like?
00:12:06.480 --> 00:12:12.320
And then start to build accordingly, um, then we can go, okay, well, that's the goal.
00:12:12.320 --> 00:12:14.720
That's the North Star, that's the mountaintop.
00:12:14.720 --> 00:12:16.320
Where are we at now?
00:12:16.320 --> 00:12:19.919
So, what can we do now to move you from here to there?
00:12:19.919 --> 00:12:29.679
So, this the tactical side, after we get what the ideal situation is, is I sit down with them and I go, okay, well, let's go through your marketing, your sales, your HR, your operations, your finances.
00:12:29.679 --> 00:12:31.679
Let's look at all five of those pillars.
00:12:31.679 --> 00:12:34.320
Most people come to me and go, I'm overworked.
00:12:34.320 --> 00:12:38.240
I need more quality new leads and more quality new patients.
00:12:38.240 --> 00:12:42.960
They think it's a marketing problem, but it's typically not a marketing problem.
00:12:42.960 --> 00:12:45.039
It's typically a systems problem.
00:12:45.039 --> 00:12:49.600
Um, after you market and get those leads, where do those leads go?
00:12:49.600 --> 00:12:51.279
How many of them are converting?
00:12:51.279 --> 00:12:55.360
What's the process there where we can maximize your marketing dollar?
00:12:55.360 --> 00:12:57.440
And that's actually where most people have the problem.
00:12:57.440 --> 00:12:58.480
They don't even know it.
00:12:58.480 --> 00:13:01.679
Um, I go through a process with them where they're leaking money.
00:13:01.679 --> 00:13:08.399
Um, there's three things that typically occur in a medical or a clinical setting where you're leaking money and don't even know it.
00:13:08.399 --> 00:13:10.080
And most people don't even know to look there.
00:13:10.080 --> 00:13:14.960
They're always looking forward to new leads, new clients, and new money.
00:13:14.960 --> 00:13:28.240
When I'm like, well, there's this big thing over here where you've already done the treatments and there's insurance leakage, and there's accounts receivable leakage, and there's upsell leakage, where they don't even look at those things.
00:13:28.240 --> 00:13:29.759
And so we do an analysis.
00:13:29.759 --> 00:13:39.759
So we get ideal scenario, where we currently are, and when we do an ideal analysis and figure out where you want to uh what steps you need to take to get there.
00:13:39.759 --> 00:13:43.440
It's funny because it's the same process as when you diagnose a human.
00:13:43.679 --> 00:13:43.840
Right.
00:13:44.080 --> 00:13:47.200
You figure out you figure out, okay, where's the pain point?
00:13:47.200 --> 00:13:48.159
What's the problem?
00:13:48.159 --> 00:13:50.080
And let's figure out the goal.
00:13:50.080 --> 00:13:52.639
Well, the goal is either to be out of pain or be able to do something.
00:13:52.639 --> 00:13:54.799
I want to move a certain way or I want to do a certain thing.
00:13:54.799 --> 00:13:57.440
And you're like, okay, here's the treatment plan to get there.
00:13:57.440 --> 00:13:59.039
It's the exact same process.
00:13:59.039 --> 00:14:02.879
It's just instead of for a human body, we use it for a business.
00:14:03.120 --> 00:14:03.440
Yeah.
00:14:03.440 --> 00:14:04.879
What a great approach.
00:14:04.879 --> 00:14:08.639
Um, let's talk about uh fitness and restoration.
00:14:08.639 --> 00:14:10.399
We're to get fun on this.
00:14:10.399 --> 00:14:17.919
We're gonna get away from the uh the debits and credits, and um, let's talk a little bit more about you know personal responsibility.
00:14:17.919 --> 00:14:24.399
You mentioned that a self that uh that self-neglect was crippling your family, your family life.
00:14:24.399 --> 00:14:34.559
In the fitness pillar, how do you manage your physical health today as a non-negotiable part of your CEO toolkit rather than something you sacrifice when your calendar gets full?
00:14:35.279 --> 00:14:38.159
Well, it just goes back to your standards and what's most important.
00:14:38.159 --> 00:14:41.360
I can tell you I go through seasons with that.
00:14:41.360 --> 00:14:51.120
Um, I'm not as consistent as there are some people uh with that, but I do have a process where every month I take note.
00:14:51.120 --> 00:14:53.360
The first day of the month, every month I take note.
00:14:53.360 --> 00:14:56.080
I go, where am I at in my relationships?
00:14:56.080 --> 00:14:57.840
Where am I at with my health?
00:14:57.840 --> 00:14:59.360
Fitness is under that.
00:14:59.360 --> 00:15:00.960
Where am I at with my business?
00:15:00.960 --> 00:15:02.559
Where am I at with my finances?
00:15:02.559 --> 00:15:04.399
And where am I at with my faith?
00:15:04.399 --> 00:15:07.120
And that's also belief, faith and belief.
00:15:07.120 --> 00:15:12.960
I look at all of those things and and uh I reassess, and I just do a simple out of those five things.
00:15:12.960 --> 00:15:16.080
Um, I think Tony Robbins used to do something similar.
00:15:16.080 --> 00:15:17.440
He called it a life wheel.
00:15:17.440 --> 00:15:20.320
But basically, I take those five things and I rank them from zero to ten.
00:15:20.320 --> 00:15:22.159
First day of the month.
00:15:22.159 --> 00:15:31.440
My relationships with my wife, my kids, my staff, my team, the most important relationships to me, my immediately family members, zero to ten, where are they at?
00:15:31.440 --> 00:15:36.639
If it's less than ten, I ask myself, what could I do better this month?
00:15:36.639 --> 00:15:38.639
That would move me towards a 10.
00:15:38.639 --> 00:15:41.039
Um, then I do the that through each one.
00:15:41.039 --> 00:15:44.000
And wealth is one or health is one of those.
00:15:44.000 --> 00:15:45.360
Uh, wealth is another one.
00:15:45.360 --> 00:15:49.919
Um but it's just you can put, you know, it's so simple.
00:15:49.919 --> 00:15:56.799
You can put it on your phone, it's a reminder, it's just the responsibility for yourself to say, I'm gonna sit down and do this.
00:15:56.799 --> 00:16:02.000
Um, because you know, you you do get life gets busy, and especially during different seasons.
00:16:02.000 --> 00:16:09.440
Last fall I found myself in a situation I was in the middle of a lot of uh things going on and I let that slip.
00:16:09.440 --> 00:16:21.120
And notice I'm not saying other things allowed me to do that or other things um, you know, it was their fault, it was that fault of that that made me not work out.
00:16:21.120 --> 00:16:22.159
No, it was me.
00:16:22.159 --> 00:16:30.559
I allowed that to happen because I was focused on other stuff, and so I was one of the heaviest I've been last fall.
00:16:30.559 --> 00:16:36.000
And then once my alarm came up, it was December, I went, Well, this is unacceptable.
00:16:36.000 --> 00:16:36.799
I need to get back.
00:16:36.799 --> 00:16:40.159
So started lifting again, started getting back into the regular flow.
00:16:40.159 --> 00:16:42.399
But I basically said, How's my how's my health?
00:16:42.399 --> 00:16:45.039
And I went, I'm like a four.
00:16:45.039 --> 00:16:47.200
You know, it just was.
00:16:47.200 --> 00:16:48.480
And I was like, What am I doing?
00:16:48.480 --> 00:16:48.960
Okay.
00:16:48.960 --> 00:16:55.200
So then the question becomes, well, if I'm a four and I want to be a 10, what things am I currently doing that are moving me away from the goal?
00:16:55.200 --> 00:16:58.639
And what things I'm doing uh currently that are moving me toward the goal?
00:16:58.639 --> 00:17:11.839
Then I eliminate the things that are moving me away, things like uh eating out, snacking, not working out, um, uh drinking, whatever, whatever it is, you say, Hey, I gotta limit those or reduce those or eliminate those.
00:17:11.839 --> 00:17:14.400
And then I'm gonna double down on the things that are working.
00:17:14.400 --> 00:17:15.680
What was I doing at the time?
00:17:15.680 --> 00:17:17.839
Well, I had a treadmill and I was using it occasionally.
00:17:17.839 --> 00:17:19.440
Okay, what can I do more of on that?
00:17:19.440 --> 00:17:21.519
It's working, I shouldn't do more of it.
00:17:21.519 --> 00:17:23.599
And that's just the process.
00:17:23.599 --> 00:17:26.000
Um, and you get into a habit of doing it.
00:17:26.000 --> 00:17:32.400
So literally the first of the month, you know, it's like people, you know, look at the first of the month as a reset.
00:17:32.400 --> 00:17:33.599
It's a new month.
00:17:33.599 --> 00:17:41.839
Um, why not reset your own personal beliefs and responsibilities about what you're going to accomplish this next month and what you're focused on this next month?
00:17:42.079 --> 00:17:42.319
Yeah.
00:17:42.319 --> 00:17:45.359
I mean, you're either getting closer or further away from your goals, right?
00:17:45.359 --> 00:17:49.599
You're either, you know, growing or stagnant.
00:17:49.599 --> 00:17:53.119
So that's a really simplified way of looking at things.
00:17:53.119 --> 00:17:54.640
And I I like that approach.
00:17:54.640 --> 00:17:57.039
And it's I like that you check in with yourself.
00:17:57.039 --> 00:17:59.119
You check in yourself, you rate yourself.
00:17:59.119 --> 00:18:01.279
Um, that's not something I've done.
00:18:01.279 --> 00:18:15.680
Uh, but it's a it's a good reminder that, and I and I wondered, you know, do you do you find yourself, is it is it practical to think that you're gonna be all tens, or or you know, or you go through where some things are better than the others and you just gotta adjust, right?
00:18:15.920 --> 00:18:18.079
Yeah, yeah, it's just it's a self-awareness tool.
00:18:18.079 --> 00:18:19.119
You'll never be all tens.
00:18:19.119 --> 00:18:22.000
If you're all tens, then you are um mistaken.
00:18:22.000 --> 00:18:26.799
You're you're missing something because there's no way that every you're never, I mean, I'll never be all tens.
00:18:26.799 --> 00:18:30.720
Yeah, um, you know, there's always some place that you can improve and do something better.
00:18:30.720 --> 00:18:36.799
So you want to um constantly say and really be introspective in that and say, How can I improve?
00:18:36.799 --> 00:18:37.680
How can I do better?
00:18:37.680 --> 00:18:38.799
How can I be better?
00:18:38.799 --> 00:18:43.839
Um, and and that's once you do that enough times, it just becomes your mantra.
00:18:43.839 --> 00:18:52.960
Um, you know, if you forget, if you don't pay attention to it, then you've heard, you know, Tony Robbins says this a lot.
00:18:52.960 --> 00:18:55.759
I know I've quoted Tony Robbins a couple times, but it's just come up.
00:18:55.759 --> 00:18:59.519
But you know, where you focus, uh where your focus goes, energy flows.
00:18:59.519 --> 00:19:07.119
Well, right, if you're focusing on if you're not focusing on yourself, well then no energy is flowing toward it.
00:19:07.119 --> 00:19:13.200
And then how can you be your greatest for everybody else around you if you're not focusing on yourself?
00:19:13.200 --> 00:19:16.240
Um, and that sounds selfish, but it's really not.
00:19:16.240 --> 00:19:21.519
It's it's selfish of other people to expect you to be what they want you to be.
00:19:21.519 --> 00:19:22.000
Right.
00:19:22.000 --> 00:19:24.400
That's selfish on them.
00:19:24.400 --> 00:19:24.960
Yeah.
00:19:24.960 --> 00:19:29.519
So be selfish for yourself, be who you want to be and build the life you want to build.
00:19:29.839 --> 00:19:33.200
Well, and then you know, I think people pleasers really battle with that, right?
00:19:33.200 --> 00:19:40.160
Where they they give their all to other people and they're neglecting themselves, and then they're not the best version of themselves to actually help people.
00:19:40.160 --> 00:19:42.960
So it's uh roundabout way just doesn't work, right?
00:19:42.960 --> 00:19:45.200
It just it just it's a myth.
00:19:45.200 --> 00:19:46.960
So you gotta take care of yourself.
00:19:46.960 --> 00:19:59.680
And you know, speaking of being best for yourself and for other people, you know, you've been pretty public-facing with you know, navigating the health battle with your son and how that strained your marriage in terms of faith and family.
00:19:59.680 --> 00:20:06.000
How has the process of aligning your business with your values helped you become a better husband and father?
00:20:09.920 --> 00:20:24.880
How has aligning my um values as business well, I mean, they they who you are as a business person or as a business owner um should be the same as who you are at home.
00:20:24.880 --> 00:20:27.279
Um that's the right answer, Doc.
00:20:27.279 --> 00:20:36.960
So if you're coming, if you're going into work and you're putting on a fake face and you're becoming somebody else, it'll just drain you because you're not being authentic.
00:20:36.960 --> 00:20:41.680
Authenticity is if you look at everything in this world vibrates.
00:20:41.680 --> 00:20:45.359
Um and they all have a you can all measure the vibration of everything.
00:20:45.359 --> 00:20:51.839
And humans have an ability to vibrate at higher or lower levels based on their emotional um state.
00:20:51.839 --> 00:20:57.599
Well, authenticity, when you are most authentic, that's when you are vibrating at the highest state.
00:20:57.599 --> 00:21:07.359
And the way to really say that is when you are most in spirit, which is when you are doing the things that you know you were put here to do and light you up and get you excited.
00:21:07.359 --> 00:21:12.240
The more you do of those things, the more in spirit you are, and the more inspired you become.
00:21:12.240 --> 00:21:15.039
And that's one of the things I talk about a lot.
00:21:15.039 --> 00:21:28.480
Um, because if you're in spirit and inspired, then you're more likely to do things that um are going to be, you know, are going to be great and light you up and get you uh excited.
00:21:28.640 --> 00:21:31.200
So and it's uh and it's a cycle.
00:21:31.200 --> 00:21:36.559
It it it it continues to improve the the longer you stick with that methodology.
00:21:36.559 --> 00:21:37.680
I love that.
00:21:37.680 --> 00:21:40.799
Um let's talk about leadership and legacy.
00:21:40.799 --> 00:21:44.240
You're now a philanthropist, investor, and coach.
00:21:44.240 --> 00:21:54.160
As you look at your legacy, what is the one thing that you want your children to remember about how you handled the curveball of 2028 versus the business you lead today?
00:21:54.559 --> 00:21:58.240
Yeah, so 2008 was when uh when the curveball of uh my son came around.
00:21:58.240 --> 00:21:59.920
Well, there's been many curveballs along the way.
00:21:59.920 --> 00:22:05.440
I mean, the legacy I want to leave for anybody is that um there's always a way to figure it out.
00:22:05.440 --> 00:22:07.519
There's always a way to figure it out.
00:22:07.519 --> 00:22:14.319
And um as long as you never give up, then failure is impossible.
00:22:14.319 --> 00:22:17.519
Failure, the only failure, is giving up.
00:22:17.519 --> 00:22:33.200
So if you stay rooted in your faith, if you stay rooted in who you are, in in your authenticity as much as possible, then um there will always be a way to figure out whatever challenge you're facing.
00:22:33.200 --> 00:22:38.319
I look at challenges as just a um growth opportunity.
00:22:38.319 --> 00:22:44.720
So if you look at it that way, then you say, well, what can I, what resources do I have to overcome this challenge?
00:22:44.720 --> 00:22:45.920
What's available?
00:22:45.920 --> 00:22:55.680
Doesn't mean I'm like perfect and I never get emotionally charged and you know, don't freak out sometimes, because sometimes you do, especially when unexpected things happen.
00:22:55.680 --> 00:23:00.079
But I always revert back to what resources do I have?
00:23:00.079 --> 00:23:02.880
What's the worst thing that could possibly happen with this?
00:23:02.880 --> 00:23:05.440
What's the best thing that could possibly happen with this?
00:23:05.440 --> 00:23:12.720
And um, what are the best solutions uh that I can come up with or the best options that I can come up with that make the most sense.
00:23:12.720 --> 00:23:17.440
And if you start really working through it logically, the emotional charge kind of goes away.
00:23:17.440 --> 00:23:25.599
Uh, because most of the time you'll find that your emotional charge comes from you telling yourself stories of of what could potentially happen.
00:23:25.599 --> 00:23:28.799
Um, but it doesn't mean it's going to happen.
00:23:28.799 --> 00:23:32.640
What could potentially happen is not necessarily what's going to happen.
00:23:32.640 --> 00:23:34.160
Only one thing will happen.
00:23:34.160 --> 00:23:49.519
And so if you uh if you never give up, stay authentic as much as you possibly can, then you know the whole point of your life is to enjoy and be in an emotional state that is enjoyable for most of it as much as possible.
00:23:49.519 --> 00:23:54.160
Uh and uh if you learn how to do that and be intentional about it, then guess what?
00:23:54.160 --> 00:23:57.599
You are in control of the quality of your own life.
00:23:57.599 --> 00:23:58.319
Yeah.
00:23:58.960 --> 00:23:59.839
Great legacy.
00:23:59.839 --> 00:24:00.720
I love that.
00:24:00.720 --> 00:24:05.920
All right, we're we're ready for the breakthrough uh uh rapid fire round here, Dr.
00:24:05.920 --> 00:24:06.319
G.
00:24:06.319 --> 00:24:07.519
All right, quick.
00:24:07.519 --> 00:24:11.039
The most dangerous lie medical entrepreneurs tell themselves.
00:24:11.440 --> 00:24:15.119
If I just see more people, I will make more money.
00:24:15.119 --> 00:24:17.359
What is one see more people?
00:24:17.599 --> 00:24:17.839
Go ahead.
00:24:17.839 --> 00:24:20.640
Yeah, right, more revenue, more people, more patients.
00:24:20.640 --> 00:24:25.039
What is one daily habit that keeps you aligned with your core purpose?
00:24:25.680 --> 00:24:28.720
Morning, my morning routine, being aligned.
00:24:28.720 --> 00:24:32.799
Um, looking at my goal sheet every single day.
00:24:32.799 --> 00:24:38.319
Um, I have a laminated sheet that is uh has all my goals for the year of what I'm working towards.
00:24:38.319 --> 00:24:42.559
And I read that um at least once a day, but most of the time twice a day.
00:24:42.960 --> 00:24:43.519
Love it.
00:24:43.519 --> 00:24:46.480
And then uh sometimes we refer to Vici as victory.
00:24:46.480 --> 00:24:48.799
What does victory look like for Dr.
00:24:48.799 --> 00:24:50.640
G in 2026?
00:24:52.880 --> 00:25:02.720
Victory is just constant movement towards the goals um and enjoying the ride and being as emotionally um present and positive as I possibly can.
00:25:02.720 --> 00:25:03.920
Not fake.
00:25:03.920 --> 00:25:10.480
I mean in control of my emotions and doing things that light me up and get me excited and being authentic.
00:25:10.480 --> 00:25:14.720
That's consistent victory across the board, really forever.
00:25:14.720 --> 00:25:18.880
Um, it's never necessarily a monetary uh goal.
00:25:18.880 --> 00:25:19.920
That's not victory.
00:25:19.920 --> 00:25:30.160
I mean, yes, we have those, but it's mostly how can I enjoy my time while I'm here and make an impact with other people while I'm here.
00:25:30.480 --> 00:25:33.839
I mean, with that mindset, you know, that's daily victory.
00:25:33.839 --> 00:25:34.640
So I love that.
00:25:34.640 --> 00:25:35.039
Right.
00:25:35.039 --> 00:25:35.440
Okay.
00:25:35.440 --> 00:25:41.279
Um just to recap, wealth is a comprehensive state, not a bank balance.
00:25:41.279 --> 00:25:45.119
True leadership is your alignment, not just escalation.
00:25:45.119 --> 00:25:58.319

Those links are gonna be in the show notes, uh, as well as Instagram, LinkedIn.
00:26:03.920 --> 00:26:06.160
There, you're gonna be able to uh have access to Dr.
00:26:06.160 --> 00:26:06.480
Greg.
00:26:06.480 --> 00:26:07.119
Dr.
00:26:07.119 --> 00:26:10.240
Greg, anything else you want to leave our uh audience with?
00:26:10.559 --> 00:26:15.200
Yeah, if you're interested in anything that I said or you want to um have more information, you can DM me on Instagram.
00:26:15.200 --> 00:26:17.839
That's generally the best way to get a hold of me and my team.
00:26:17.839 --> 00:26:22.559
Um just direct message me that you saw us on Vici and that you um that you had a question.
00:26:22.559 --> 00:26:25.119
Uh, you know, I'm I'm here as an open book.
00:26:25.119 --> 00:26:26.480
Watch my uh content.
00:26:26.480 --> 00:26:33.440
I really spend a lot of time and energy spent sending uh information out to people uh to to help them improve.
00:26:33.440 --> 00:26:43.839
And really, I am an open book and I'm very candid, can't candid about the things that I've dealt with in my own life and the mistakes that I've made um and how I can help other people.
00:26:43.839 --> 00:26:45.839
So um that's ultimately the goal.
00:26:45.839 --> 00:26:48.400
I thanks, you know, appreciate you for having me on here, Joe.
00:26:48.400 --> 00:26:54.480
And um, and uh if there's anything I can do for you or your uh listeners, I'm I'm happy to uh to do that.
00:26:54.480 --> 00:27:02.160
Um last, I guess the last thing would be uh one of the goals that I have for people is I have an owner out method.
00:27:02.160 --> 00:27:15.119
So the owner out method is working with individuals in order to um help the owner that owns the business um create an exitable uh enterprise value.
00:27:15.119 --> 00:27:22.400
So an actual business that runs uh without them as much as possible, and that they can do what they love to do with all these things I just talked about.
00:27:22.400 --> 00:27:26.480
Um so if they're interested in that, they can direct message me on Instagram.
00:27:26.799 --> 00:27:28.319
Well, that sounds like a good deal.
00:27:28.319 --> 00:27:32.240
I think we all would uh appreciate some help in that area.
00:27:32.240 --> 00:27:34.559
Um well, that's it.
00:27:34.559 --> 00:27:41.359
Prioritize your alignment, protect your family, and remember that real wealth is a life lived on purpose.
00:27:41.359 --> 00:27:43.759
We'll see you all in the next episode of the Vici Code.
00:27:43.759 --> 00:27:44.480
Cheers.
00:27:44.480 --> 00:27:51.599
Thanks for tuning in to the Vici Code, where the underdogs rise and the numbers finally make sense.
00:27:51.599 --> 00:27:54.319
If today's story hit home, share it.
00:27:54.319 --> 00:27:59.839
And remember, faith fuels a fight, and your comeback is already in progress.
