00:00:00.320 --> 00:00:03.600
They take off, so I can not see eight off.
00:00:03.759 --> 00:00:06.160
Now I got these rappers, all breaking up in sweat.
00:00:06.240 --> 00:00:08.560
Cause every time I get up on the mic, I come correct.
00:00:08.720 --> 00:00:09.759
And I learned them from the best.
00:00:10.000 --> 00:00:12.480
Low and dressing something fresh with a full-like.
00:00:14.480 --> 00:00:18.879
Yes, they heard I used to write guests, but now I'm rocking clothes and ain't in the stores.
00:00:19.039 --> 00:00:19.359
Yeah.
00:00:19.600 --> 00:00:20.559
Travel back in time.
00:00:20.800 --> 00:00:21.920
I'm in a vortex.
00:00:22.079 --> 00:00:23.120
Tryna make a workout.
00:00:23.280 --> 00:00:24.640
Think I need more reps.
00:00:24.879 --> 00:00:27.199
Used to take a bus, not a boy for jets.
00:00:27.440 --> 00:00:29.760
Cause kids got me bustin' like a foolinette.
00:00:30.000 --> 00:00:32.479
They say I got next, tell them that I got now.
00:00:32.960 --> 00:00:35.359
It's all Disney, but my family's proud.
00:00:35.520 --> 00:00:37.600
Make 'em stay L, make 'em say oh.
00:00:37.840 --> 00:00:40.799
The full tell me yes, the same once I tell you no.
00:00:41.119 --> 00:00:43.039
Whoa, I ain't just an average Joe.
00:00:46.240 --> 00:00:49.039
No matter where my day, find me with a smile.
00:00:49.359 --> 00:00:51.920
So you'd be happy, don't feel like it like a doubt.
00:00:52.159 --> 00:00:54.000
I never died like you need it to me.
00:00:57.920 --> 00:00:59.520
I ain't getting away, but nothing.
00:01:00.079 --> 00:01:01.600
Let's just take my step.
00:01:02.880 --> 00:01:04.400
Life will get better.
00:01:06.959 --> 00:01:12.319
If it ain't about a dream, then it ain't about Go a couple four weeks without a good night's sleep.
00:01:12.799 --> 00:01:15.519
Imagination is making musical creation.
00:01:15.680 --> 00:01:18.079
A journey that I'm fixing, what's the painful that I'm chasing?
00:01:18.239 --> 00:01:20.079
Got me crazy aftertaining with the lanes.
00:01:20.159 --> 00:01:22.079
I see you hating, but there's nothing that you changing.
00:01:22.239 --> 00:01:24.000
Thumbs up or maintaining, no complaining.
00:01:24.159 --> 00:01:25.920
When it's raining, I'll be in another zone.
00:01:29.359 --> 00:01:31.200
I ain't gonna play around no more.
00:01:31.439 --> 00:01:33.439
Find a difference from the ground and the floor.
00:01:33.760 --> 00:01:36.239
If we gotta fight, I'll be down for the wall.
00:01:36.640 --> 00:01:38.560
Dumbs up for me, I'll be sure.
00:01:39.120 --> 00:01:41.840
No matter where life takes, find me with a smile.
00:01:42.319 --> 00:01:44.879
So to be happy, don't be laughing like a child.
00:01:45.120 --> 00:01:46.959
I never died like you need it to me.
00:01:47.280 --> 00:01:49.200
Got your cheese in the cheeky cheek.
00:01:50.879 --> 00:01:52.480
I get away from nothing.
00:01:52.959 --> 00:01:54.319
That just ain't myself.
00:01:55.680 --> 00:01:57.519
Life's gonna get better.
00:01:57.760 --> 00:02:30.879
This will be the best day ever cage, and I've been doing just fine.
00:02:31.039 --> 00:02:33.840
Gotta gotta be down because I want it all.
00:02:34.080 --> 00:02:35.599
I started out with a kiss.
00:02:35.759 --> 00:02:37.360
I didn't even like this.
00:02:37.680 --> 00:02:40.479
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss.
00:02:40.719 --> 00:02:42.159
Now I'm falling asleep.
00:02:42.319 --> 00:02:45.439
And she's calling a cab while it's having a smoke.
00:02:45.599 --> 00:02:46.960
And she's taking the track.
00:02:47.280 --> 00:02:48.639
I've been gonna fed.
00:02:48.879 --> 00:02:54.479
Now my stomach is sick, and it's all in my head, but she's touching this chest now.
00:02:54.960 --> 00:02:57.439
It takes off the streets, too.
00:02:57.520 --> 00:02:58.639
Now it's too bad.
00:06:23.199 --> 00:06:32.800
Look at that, stay the ball night for the last.
00:06:33.120 --> 00:06:34.800
That would be the last.
00:07:10.319 --> 00:07:15.759
Then you walk in, on it, and you look across the room at me.
00:07:17.839 --> 00:07:21.920
Forget the man that I am, what kind of man do you need?
00:07:32.560 --> 00:07:55.360
Inside the Union Valley church again But here's the Oklahoma trap on my sins I know they would do I have to have you, I just can't stand to lose here we go, I'm all time.
00:07:56.240 --> 00:10:32.960
I love you if you let me believe that you walk in for an owner and you look across the room at me the man I am kinda many you need kind of many kind of man in me I've been on the stone down the road still me down What a little bit on the hell off the hell and you won't get the phone on it you look across the room at me Get the man up can I get the man upon baby This is WPPB the Pulse, Rin, Palmetto, Powdersville, Belt and Honeyopath, and ACTC property streaming at mypulse radio dot com.
00:12:07.679 --> 00:12:12.960
Hey everybody and welcome to another Boone Show on My Pulse Radio.
00:12:13.120 --> 00:12:18.159
Happy to be with you on another Tuesday evening or whenever you happen to be listening to this.
00:12:18.399 --> 00:12:24.480
I'm John Boone, and today uh we're gonna talk all about District One and how great it is.
00:12:24.799 --> 00:12:26.720
That is we have two believers here.
00:12:26.960 --> 00:12:28.879
One, uh my co-host is back.
00:12:29.759 --> 00:12:32.399
Yes, I'm very blessed to be back and glad to be back.
00:12:32.559 --> 00:12:37.039
I tried to be here last time, but just one of those things that that happens.
00:12:40.559 --> 00:12:41.279
Season seven.
00:12:41.840 --> 00:12:43.279
Season seven, yes, we have to do that.
00:12:44.960 --> 00:12:45.519
Yeah, yeah.
00:12:45.679 --> 00:12:47.360
And uh episode two, yeah.
00:12:47.440 --> 00:12:50.799
So we have about 20 episodes planned this year, so looking forward to all that.
00:12:50.960 --> 00:12:53.919
And our very special guest, a guy that hasn't been here for a couple of years.
00:12:54.240 --> 00:12:55.919
I was looking up when was the last time he was there.
00:12:56.720 --> 00:13:00.559
It seems like the last time was when you first started as Superintendent.
00:13:00.799 --> 00:13:02.559
I think I had just been named and Mr.
00:13:02.639 --> 00:13:04.320
Benneker was here with me.
00:13:04.960 --> 00:13:08.639
So I think it's when you move up, it just doesn't happen.
00:13:09.600 --> 00:13:10.799
But uh we're with Dr.
00:13:10.879 --> 00:13:20.720
Seth Young, who uh who we've known for a while now, from the days of being principal back at Wren, and uh now that I might have been in season one if we go back and chat.
00:13:22.240 --> 00:13:22.960
We'll have to look at that.
00:13:23.200 --> 00:13:24.399
We'll see way back when.
00:13:24.799 --> 00:13:35.840
But um he's limited on his time tonight, but he uh made time for us, so we want to get right to the point here and talk about everything that's going on in District One and Holly's gonna be a big help for this.
00:13:36.159 --> 00:13:37.679
There's a lot going on in District One.
00:13:38.080 --> 00:13:42.320
I don't uh I don't know a lot of these details, but because I'm just a lowly teacher.
00:13:42.559 --> 00:13:46.000
But these guys, they they know they know they know it all.
00:13:46.080 --> 00:13:47.120
So let's let's talk.
00:13:47.279 --> 00:13:49.519
We've just opened another school year, we're a month in.
00:13:49.600 --> 00:13:50.240
How's it going?
00:13:50.480 --> 00:13:51.600
It's it's been great.
00:13:51.840 --> 00:13:57.840
It's it's hard to believe that um we're like two-thirds of the way through the first nine weeks already.
00:13:58.080 --> 00:14:01.679
It's it's uh it's flying by, but we've got a great start.
00:14:01.919 --> 00:14:06.559
And it's in Anderson One, we we we gotta get used to saying we've got 15 schools.
00:14:06.960 --> 00:14:07.039
Wow.
00:14:07.279 --> 00:14:10.799
So we just opened a brand new school in Powder's Oak Hill Elementary.
00:14:11.039 --> 00:14:11.919
And it's beautiful.
00:14:12.320 --> 00:14:12.799
It's awesome.
00:14:13.039 --> 00:14:20.000
I wasn't familiar with where that was because I'm not real fan, but then I accidentally drove by it the the other day, and I'm like, wow, that's nice.
00:14:20.320 --> 00:14:20.559
Beautiful.
00:14:20.879 --> 00:14:22.799
So do you know where the name Oak Hill came from?
00:14:22.960 --> 00:14:23.279
No.
00:14:23.679 --> 00:14:40.960
So about a hundred years ago, right up the road from where the new school is, there was a school called Oak Hill School that was a little two-room uh uh school that that served grades kindergarten through uh high school that that was right there, so that's where the name Oak Hill came from.
00:14:42.960 --> 00:14:44.799
To the history of that part of the community.
00:14:44.879 --> 00:14:45.919
So it was it's pretty neat.
00:14:46.320 --> 00:14:51.360
And you actually took a portion of the that old school house brick and put it at the front of Oak Hill.
00:14:51.519 --> 00:14:59.279
So when you come up, you see the little again paying respect for those that were here before, and and it was very cool.
00:14:59.679 --> 00:15:07.360
We've had uh class pictures going all the way back to 1910 that people have brought us to to kind of show the old Oak Hill school.
00:15:07.759 --> 00:15:08.559
It's been really good.
00:15:10.320 --> 00:15:12.320
Yeah, it was well they're getting there.
00:15:12.879 --> 00:15:34.960
We we uh hope to have them up on the walls before school opened, but we just got the like fancy little shadow box bulletin board things, and they just got installed Friday, so I I've been keeping all these artifacts, but I trusted uh Miss Horn and Miss Blunt and other ladies to get it organized in a way that would look good rather than me just sticking it on the wall.
00:15:35.200 --> 00:15:36.240
Yeah, that would be new too.
00:15:36.879 --> 00:15:41.519
And there's a lot, there's a lot to having a new building, needless to say, a new school.
00:15:41.840 --> 00:15:52.639
So they you know, you're not just the foundation of the school itself, you've got to staff it and and uh the infrastructure prior to building the school that took years.
00:15:52.960 --> 00:15:54.000
So so Dr.
00:15:54.080 --> 00:16:03.519
Young, in a scale of of time-wise, when you started deciding you were gonna build Oak Hill to when it was completed, what is that time frame for the normal person to understand?
00:16:04.159 --> 00:16:05.360
So it's it's interesting.
00:16:05.600 --> 00:16:06.240
We talked about Mr.
00:16:06.320 --> 00:16:08.080
Benneker being here last time.
00:16:08.320 --> 00:16:14.960
At his very last board meeting, we uh actually finished the process of finding a contractor to build the school.
00:16:15.039 --> 00:16:25.440
So they had spent probably a year, year and a half ahead of time planning, um, finding the property, uh, figuring out what it would look like.
00:16:25.600 --> 00:16:44.320
And then um his last board meeting in May 2024, uh the board-approved uh uh hiring triangle to to build the the school triangle for the general contractors, and then so that took a two-year process to from when we started moving dirt to opening the school.
00:16:44.559 --> 00:16:50.799
Um in the middle of all that, we reorganized concrete primary and powdersville elementary.
00:16:50.960 --> 00:16:58.320
Concrete primary used to serve kindergarten through second grade, and then students would go to Powdersville Elementary for third, fourth, and fifth grade.
00:16:58.480 --> 00:17:03.200
Your daughter did that, and who is now a senior at Powderville High School talking about time flying.
00:17:04.319 --> 00:17:15.119
Um but so now concrete is kindergarten through fifth grade, powdersville's kindergarten through through fifth grade, and Oakill is kindergarten through fifth grade, so three traditional elementary schools.
00:17:15.279 --> 00:17:28.960
Um now that we have room to to have everybody in their schools, uh we did some renovations of concrete, uh, we did some stuff to fix up Powdersville Elementary School because Pattersville Elementary School um had never had little ones before.
00:17:29.039 --> 00:18:00.720
It had always been third, fourth, and fifth grade, so making sure those kindergarten, first, and second grade classes had bathrooms for the students right there, um and and just little things that that needed to be done to have have it prepared to handle younger students, and then concrete is is a really old one of our older buildings, so doing some renovations there to to make sure that those classrooms are still state of the art and making sure the roof and then redoing the entranceway um has really just been great for concrete.
00:18:01.039 --> 00:18:09.359
So you're looking at really from start to finish a six to seven year process of starting to research as to when the building opened.
00:18:09.839 --> 00:18:17.680
That was uh I I would say let's say four and a half to five instead of six to seven, but um six to seven.
00:18:20.480 --> 00:18:30.880
Even at the district level, we can't but um but yeah, and and working with our person in really every part of the district.
00:18:31.279 --> 00:18:39.039
Um office staff was involved in the transition because I just told you we kinda had to restructure concrete in Powdersville Elementary.
00:18:39.839 --> 00:18:47.920
Well that meant we used to have eleven or twelve teachers teaching fourth grade at Powder's Elementary School or first grade at concrete.
00:18:48.160 --> 00:18:53.440
Well now we we kind of had to disperse those teachers amongst three schools.
00:18:53.680 --> 00:18:57.920
Um so so we didn't have to hire a whole lot of extra staff to open a new school.
00:18:58.000 --> 00:19:02.000
We we had to hire some related arts teachers and some office staff.
00:19:06.240 --> 00:19:13.839
As the students were kind of reconfigured and reshuffled around, then we were able to use staff from within the district to staff the new school.
00:19:14.240 --> 00:19:16.799
So that helps with the growth in the powderville area.
00:19:16.960 --> 00:19:20.240
So now you've got growth not just happening in Powderville area.
00:19:20.319 --> 00:19:21.440
You've got Ren area.
00:19:22.160 --> 00:19:25.359
What now and uh do you have it in the Palmetto area too?
00:19:25.599 --> 00:19:26.960
So now you've got both areas.
00:19:27.039 --> 00:19:28.960
So now what what is your next step?
00:19:29.279 --> 00:19:37.839
So right we've uh got our our our game plan is to address some overcrowding at Spearman Elementary and Ren Elementary in the Renn area.
00:19:37.920 --> 00:19:48.640
Um we've had a lot of growth in Piedmont, and then from Piedmont going out Highway 81 uh past the Anderson Speedway, if if you know that area going towards Brookstone.
00:19:48.880 --> 00:19:56.160
Um there's one neighborhood that's actually been been approved that's gonna have a thousand homes in it that is zoned for spearmen.
00:19:56.240 --> 00:20:04.880
And and so we know that in the next couple years we gotta we gotta come up with a plan to take care of those students because we've already got portables at rent elementary and spearman elementary.
00:20:05.359 --> 00:20:09.440
Which is not safety minded, portables aren't, it's not convenient, right?
00:20:09.519 --> 00:20:11.440
It's not energy efficient.
00:20:12.000 --> 00:20:13.039
There's so many variables.
00:20:13.119 --> 00:20:17.440
I I think I don't think we need to tell anybody why portables isn't the best learning environment.
00:20:17.759 --> 00:20:27.039
We're doing the best we can, but and it and and we're doing with the hand we've been dealt, but uh you know, funding and all that takes into account.
00:20:27.200 --> 00:20:29.759
So uh we're working together with the board.
00:20:30.000 --> 00:20:40.480
The good thing about O'Kill Elementary School, um, just as a quick nugget, is uh we were able to build a forty million dollar facility without doing a bond referendum.
00:20:40.720 --> 00:20:51.920
So that meant nobody's taxes increase, nobody um we didn't have to go, we used local option sales tax money and and some other capital funds to to build that school.
00:20:52.000 --> 00:20:56.319
So we didn't have to go ask anybody to to increase their taxes.
00:20:56.559 --> 00:21:12.000
And our hope is that because of how our board has been so proactive over the years to plan ahead that as we continue to address other needs, like another we'll we'll need to do some sort of other elementary school in the near future, that we can continue to do that without raising taxes.
00:21:12.079 --> 00:21:12.640
That's the plan.
00:21:12.960 --> 00:21:17.519
And with the local office sales tax, you're already paying debt down as it is, right?
00:21:17.680 --> 00:21:23.039
The way it was set up, you're already decreasing the debt that the school districts have already.
00:21:23.680 --> 00:21:24.640
That is exactly right.
00:21:24.799 --> 00:21:33.519
It's not just helping us pay for some of these projects, it's it's it is paying down the debt service um that that our taxpayers are having to pay.
00:21:33.599 --> 00:21:35.200
So it's it's really helping.
00:21:35.359 --> 00:21:43.839
I mean, I think all three of us actually live in Anderson one, so it's helping all of us and everybody else in Anderson one on our on our um property taxes.
00:21:44.480 --> 00:21:47.039
Wow, I can't imagine all that goes into the planning.
00:21:47.119 --> 00:21:57.119
Like you said, you already know you need more uh another elementary building, but of course all those elementary kids are gonna need to go to a middle school. 'Cause there's only one middle school, right?
00:21:57.279 --> 00:21:59.680
I mean well, you got Cowersville and you got rent.
00:22:00.400 --> 00:22:05.039
So you got and and and we've got you just built a new two new middle schools.
00:22:05.359 --> 00:22:08.880
We did, and those middle schools have some room to to absorb growth.
00:22:09.200 --> 00:22:11.440
So we the the the board planned ahead.
00:22:11.759 --> 00:22:14.240
But you got we're we're down here at the career center.
00:22:14.319 --> 00:22:27.039
Um between Shedder, some people some people might call it Cheddar, but between Shedder and Williamston and Pelzer and West Pelzer, uh you you guys see all the houses that are being built down here.
00:22:27.119 --> 00:22:34.160
So it's making sure that we have uh plans in place to to uh to take care of the folks down on this end of the district as well.
00:22:34.240 --> 00:22:41.920
Um one of our board members, Miss Brenda Ellison, uh, she was the principal at Cedar Grove um before she retired, and now she's on our board.
00:22:42.000 --> 00:22:52.400
But she talks about when she was the principal, which was only uh 20 years ago, there was one teacher, maybe two in every grade level, and now we've got four or five in every grade level.
00:22:52.720 --> 00:22:52.880
Wow.
00:22:53.119 --> 00:23:03.119
So we talk a lot about the growth in Powder's and and the Rand community, but that's an example right here on on this side of the district, too, where houses are coming up and people are coming here.
00:23:03.200 --> 00:23:07.039
And is and and we think a big part of that is um our schools.
00:23:07.200 --> 00:23:09.519
We we've got great schools in Anderson One.
00:23:09.680 --> 00:23:14.559
Um all 15 of our schools are great, and and we think that's why people are coming here.
00:23:15.119 --> 00:23:18.720
Which leads great into the next segment of scores.
00:23:19.119 --> 00:23:21.039
Yes, I mean the brag about there.
00:23:21.279 --> 00:23:26.400
Yeah, we we are really proud of our test scores, whether it's elementary school, middle school, high school.
00:23:26.559 --> 00:23:33.519
When you compare us to uh folks around the state of South Carolina, um we got some really good stuff going on.
00:23:33.839 --> 00:23:36.960
One special highlight, our algebra one scores were number one in the state.
00:23:37.200 --> 00:23:39.039
Well, you're a math teacher, you'll love to.
00:23:39.359 --> 00:23:40.000
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:23:40.240 --> 00:23:42.240
So glad you remembered that.
00:23:42.559 --> 00:23:44.799
So you but that's exciting.
00:23:44.960 --> 00:24:02.000
But we're we're in and when you look at end-of-course tests at the high school, we're ranked in the top four districts in in the state, and no matter which subjects you look at, um SC Ready, which is third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth um reading and math.
00:24:02.160 --> 00:24:03.599
We rank really high.
00:24:03.680 --> 00:24:09.680
Um, we'll be second, third, or fourth in most grade levels for those subjects in the state of South Carolina.
00:24:09.759 --> 00:24:11.200
So that's really exciting.
00:24:11.440 --> 00:24:24.559
Um I actually came over here yesterday and and we recorded a little video because of college and career readiness stats that we talk a lot about at the high school level, and the career center is a big part of that.
00:24:24.720 --> 00:24:29.039
Um, we we're one of the top two or three, four districts in the state.
00:24:29.119 --> 00:24:46.960
When you look at our three high schools and the college and career readiness, and the career center is a huge part of that because um get getting students career ready, but it's also a lot of times you you don't realize this, but they're getting dual credit classes down here at the career center that checks that box for college readiness as well.
00:24:47.039 --> 00:24:49.680
So it's it's it's a huge or AP.
00:24:50.000 --> 00:24:52.079
Yeah, yep, AP computer science.
00:24:52.240 --> 00:25:02.240
You got several AP classes down here, like so much stuff that that is happening that uh our students get to to participate in and they get to achieve excellence.
00:25:02.559 --> 00:25:04.400
So, how does this all happen?
00:25:04.559 --> 00:25:09.200
How do you become uh one of the top districts in the state with test scores and all that?
00:25:09.359 --> 00:25:14.079
Obviously, it's a team effort, but I mean you can say, hey, we got these well but how did you get that?
00:25:14.160 --> 00:25:15.759
And how come other schools can't do it?
00:25:16.000 --> 00:25:16.799
I mean, what's the difference?
00:25:17.039 --> 00:25:18.960
Yeah, this is not a fluke gear.
00:25:19.279 --> 00:25:20.480
This is not a fluke gear.
00:25:20.799 --> 00:25:32.799
I think our community has high expectations, and and so we we uh identify teachers and administrators that understand this is the expectation here.
00:25:33.039 --> 00:25:37.680
Um, our teachers, we have the best teachers in in in South Carolina.
00:25:37.839 --> 00:25:47.279
Miss Upton always uh at every board member when we have new folks getting getting hired, uh Miss Upton, our board chair, always says, welcome to the best district in the state of South Carolina.
00:25:47.519 --> 00:25:50.319
And and it's because of our people.
00:25:50.559 --> 00:25:55.839
Um we've got seven board members that are all focused on doing what's best for students.
00:25:56.079 --> 00:26:13.680
Um I try very hard to make sure that the leaders that we have at the district office understand whether you're in maintenance, whether you're in finance, uh, whether you're in any department at the district office, you're helping uh create a learning environment where students can be successful.
00:26:13.839 --> 00:26:25.039
And um then our principals and administration and assistant principals do a great job of identifying great teachers that just bend over backwards, they work together and they're here for the kid.
00:26:25.359 --> 00:26:32.319
Yes, yes, that's ultimately I think what every one of your teachers come back is they're here for the right reason.
00:26:32.559 --> 00:26:34.079
Yep, I I a hundred percent.
00:26:34.240 --> 00:26:41.119
And and it it's um because they could go right over the county line and get more money somewhere else.
00:26:41.359 --> 00:26:42.400
Sometimes they could, yes.
00:26:42.480 --> 00:26:53.039
And and it's our environment and the way that uh we try to take care of folks, Miss Brady, Carol Brooks, um Miss Tollison, our personnel department, that they do a great job.
00:26:53.200 --> 00:26:56.559
Um I mean and it's finding good people.
00:26:56.720 --> 00:26:58.720
Um, and and it's the same thing you do here.
00:26:59.039 --> 00:27:04.480
Like you got great people that that it's a fit for the culture that we have of putting students first.
00:27:04.640 --> 00:27:04.880
Yep.
00:27:05.839 --> 00:27:07.839
And credit to you, Holly.
00:27:08.160 --> 00:27:09.359
Not much turnover.
00:27:09.599 --> 00:27:11.039
No, y'all don't have a lot of turnover.
00:27:11.359 --> 00:27:15.599
There's uh teachers stay for a long time, yep, which is also good building a culture.
00:27:15.920 --> 00:27:23.759
Again, you go back to the fact that you know you could just go within 30 minutes and maybe get paid just a little more, and but people aren't leaving.
00:27:24.079 --> 00:27:27.200
Well, and I mean, just give you give a little shout out to to you.
00:27:27.279 --> 00:27:29.359
You talk about not much turnover impacting.
00:27:29.759 --> 00:27:45.680
Um, we were talking right before we went on the air, and he told me he was gonna be listening, so I'm gonna give him a little shout-out, Thomas Allison talking about you know, that you've you've been here long enough to remember when he walked in your door as a tenth grader, and now he's working at WSPA and making a difference.
00:27:45.839 --> 00:27:55.359
And uh, I think it's it's just people people stay because they get so invested in folks, and you were just listing off people that are working at different places, and yeah, it's just that culture.
00:27:55.680 --> 00:27:56.400
It's great.
00:27:56.640 --> 00:28:04.799
Uh, and you do it without uh getting the most money per student, which I've I'm which really impresses me.
00:28:04.960 --> 00:28:12.880
Yeah, the funding absolutely districts that uh get a considerable amount more uh and uh do less.
00:28:13.039 --> 00:28:20.720
And so I mean, look at this studio we're sitting in, and look at the facilities elsewhere, and and uh just all the things to help kids learn.
00:28:20.960 --> 00:28:24.480
Um, and yet you do it with less money than other districts.
00:28:24.640 --> 00:28:26.640
And uh first of all, why is that?
00:28:26.880 --> 00:28:28.160
And how do you change that?
00:28:28.240 --> 00:28:31.440
And and you know, that whole yeah, why is that?
00:28:31.839 --> 00:28:36.400
Well, since you brought it up, I think I brought it up the last time he was here too, and she said the exact thing.
00:28:36.559 --> 00:28:37.519
Yes, why is that?
00:28:38.079 --> 00:28:39.680
Anderson School District 1.
00:28:39.759 --> 00:28:49.119
When you look at per pupil expenditures or pure per pupil revenue, we are the lowest funded school district in the state of South Carolina.
00:28:49.359 --> 00:28:49.839
The lowest.
00:28:50.240 --> 00:28:50.799
Crazy, right?
00:28:51.039 --> 00:28:51.680
It is, isn't it?
00:28:51.839 --> 00:28:54.400
And I think I listed off some pretty good test scores earlier.
00:28:54.480 --> 00:28:57.119
Yeah, and I think we've got some pretty good athletic teams.
00:28:57.519 --> 00:29:08.160
And I think we've got teams in this building, including folks that sit in this room that win state and national awards, and we've got ROTC programs that go win awards.
00:29:08.480 --> 00:29:10.960
Your bands, your bands, everything.
00:29:11.279 --> 00:29:25.359
So I I could I could sit here and and and list a whole bunch of stuff about what what's what students in Anderson Wynn are doing that that compare pretty favorably with our neighbors, and and again, that was the lowest um funded.
00:29:25.599 --> 00:29:36.240
And and the the big reason is is uh a law, and I don't want to go into like school finance and I know I know Zach Howard's coming on at the end of the show.
00:29:36.400 --> 00:29:37.440
I want I want our listeners.
00:29:39.200 --> 00:29:42.880
I don't want our listeners to turn off, but there there was a bill called Act 388.
00:29:43.279 --> 00:29:53.119
And that kind of locked locked in um some of our ability to raise uh revenue to do things um in in the district.
00:29:53.279 --> 00:30:02.480
We used before that, that basically took away the um tax or property tax revenue for owner-occupied homes that that goes to school districts.
00:30:02.720 --> 00:30:11.279
So um a lot of there's a little bit of a misconception that your your property taxes help pay teacher salaries and all that kind of stuff.
00:30:11.440 --> 00:30:13.519
Well, that that's not a that's not entirely true.
00:30:13.680 --> 00:30:19.039
If you live in an owner-occupied home, your property taxes do not go to the operation of the school district.
00:30:19.200 --> 00:30:24.799
So when when you have a lot of growth, I mentioned there's a neighborhood with a thousand homes coming in.
00:30:25.440 --> 00:30:34.640
Anderson one's not gonna get any funding from those homes to help pay for teacher salaries, help pay for materials, uh, any of that.
00:30:34.799 --> 00:30:39.119
Um there the facilities and capital needs are are funded differently.
00:30:39.200 --> 00:30:44.720
Um, so families are gonna move in those homes and those kids are gonna show up in our schools.
00:30:44.880 --> 00:30:49.920
So we've got to figure what figure out a way to have teachers teach those kids.
00:30:50.160 --> 00:30:54.799
Um, so we might have one or two more kids in a class compared to some of our neighbors.
00:30:54.880 --> 00:31:07.279
Um, but again, you you're hiring teachers that that put the needs of the students first that are gonna fit into our culture and do whatever it takes to make kids be successful, and and some other time we'll we'll have to have a school finance lesson.
00:31:07.519 --> 00:31:09.519
And I'm sure we'll have lots of people.
00:31:10.160 --> 00:31:14.079
That one will probably go viral more times when we when we have that conversation.
00:31:14.319 --> 00:31:15.599
I I may be sick that day.
00:31:15.920 --> 00:31:16.720
I don't know.
00:31:18.160 --> 00:31:29.519
But you would think, you would think in a in a perfect world that due to merit that you would get more money for the results that you're producing, but it just doesn't quite work that way.
00:31:29.839 --> 00:31:30.960
He doesn't get bonuses for that.
00:31:31.200 --> 00:31:35.519
Yeah, it's a it's a it's a weird setup on how it all plays into it.
00:31:35.680 --> 00:31:37.440
But but you're doing it.
00:31:37.599 --> 00:31:38.400
That's the cool part.
00:31:38.799 --> 00:31:40.160
We're not using that as an excuse.
00:31:40.400 --> 00:31:40.559
Yep.
00:31:40.720 --> 00:31:41.519
Still about the kick.
00:31:41.839 --> 00:31:44.400
We we we we do it everything we can.
00:31:44.559 --> 00:31:56.720
Uh almost 90% of our budget goes directly to the classroom because we're making sure that we invest in our teachers and create the best environment uh possible for our teachers to be successful working with our students.
00:31:57.119 --> 00:31:57.680
That's awesome.
00:31:58.160 --> 00:32:03.599
Um if you don't have any more questions, Holly, we're just gonna kind of quickly go through these other categories.
00:32:03.839 --> 00:32:04.720
School safety.
00:32:04.960 --> 00:32:10.079
I think the last time we were here um was shortly after the incident at concrete.
00:32:10.400 --> 00:32:11.920
Uh or where was it concrete?
00:32:12.079 --> 00:32:18.640
Where was it that the the it was at a middle school where a kid had a gun?
00:32:19.599 --> 00:32:21.920
That was a few years ago, up towards Greenville.
00:32:22.079 --> 00:32:22.640
Tanglewood?
00:32:22.880 --> 00:32:23.119
Tangled.
00:32:23.440 --> 00:32:23.680
Tangled.
00:32:24.000 --> 00:32:24.240
Yeah, okay.
00:32:24.319 --> 00:32:26.079
Tanglewood, I'm sorry, at the wrong school.
00:32:26.559 --> 00:32:31.920
But anyway, we were talking about that, and and the schools all made uh some changes safety-wise.
00:32:32.000 --> 00:32:36.480
I'm interested with with Oak Hill uh implementing them from the start.
00:32:36.640 --> 00:32:38.079
What were some of the things that you did?
00:32:38.400 --> 00:33:03.119
That that's one of the things that being able to design a school with modern day safety, and our two middle schools are this way too, uh being able to uh Palmetto Middle and Rin Middle, being able to start from scratch and see how um safety consultants and architects can really design a building that is built uh for the unfortunate modern day things we have to think about.
00:33:03.200 --> 00:33:05.759
And you know how it is as you've done some improvements in doing that.
00:33:06.000 --> 00:33:07.119
You have to now, right?
00:33:07.359 --> 00:33:08.799
I mean, that's what you got to do now.
00:33:08.960 --> 00:33:09.279
Yeah.
00:33:09.440 --> 00:33:15.279
Um so um you have the secure vestibule where folks get get in.
00:33:15.440 --> 00:33:17.680
I know the the people watching online can see.
00:33:17.759 --> 00:33:22.160
I've got my little badge that I use to get in everywhere that I go.
00:33:22.319 --> 00:33:28.640
Um, we have uh badges now that uh you can press teachers can press a button.
00:33:28.799 --> 00:33:31.279
I was actually at Palmetto Elementary School today.
00:33:31.440 --> 00:33:46.400
Um, a student got sick in the cafeteria, and his teacher was able to buzz uh the principal, hit her badge three times and say, Hey, we're gonna need the nurse and everybody to come down here and help us out because she couldn't leave the rest of her class while the student was sick.
00:33:46.799 --> 00:33:47.599
And ours are coming, Mr.
00:33:47.680 --> 00:33:48.079
Baylor.
00:33:49.039 --> 00:34:00.720
And then if there were ever just a dangerous emergency, you continue to hit that button several times and it would alert law enforcement and anybody else that needed to um respond.
00:34:00.880 --> 00:34:02.319
So so that's a a neat thing.
00:34:02.400 --> 00:34:18.400
But at Oak Hill specifically, um the if if there were ever like a dangerous incident with an intruder or something, uh administrators can really shut down portions of the building to keep that person from being able to travel to a different area of the school.
00:34:18.559 --> 00:34:21.360
We've got safe safety uh doors.
00:34:21.599 --> 00:34:32.400
Um there's uh school guard glass is is a big thing now where um it you you can't shatter it with with a weapon or anything like that.
00:34:32.480 --> 00:34:38.400
And then there's a lot of things you can do with like film and and put putting it over the windows to keep them safe.
00:34:38.559 --> 00:34:56.400
Uh so there's a lot of cameras, all all kinds of stuff that that honestly, I had no idea all the the different stakeholder groups from the sheriff's department to Anderson Emergency Management to different folks um that that you're working with when you're when you're building a school.
00:34:56.719 --> 00:34:57.599
Oh, that's pretty cool.
00:34:57.840 --> 00:35:01.039
Next thing on the list, um cell phone restrictions.
00:35:01.119 --> 00:35:04.000
You've had this law now that it's officially in effect.
00:35:04.239 --> 00:35:07.199
Um Holly, you can certainly comment on this too.
00:35:07.280 --> 00:35:10.239
How's how's this going with the new cell phone restrictions?
00:35:10.559 --> 00:35:18.480
So I talked about you you asked what sets Anderson one apart, and I said we'll start with we have a really good community and high expectations.
00:35:18.719 --> 00:35:21.199
I think we are blessed with really compliant kids.
00:35:21.360 --> 00:35:21.599
Yeah.
00:35:21.760 --> 00:35:30.480
And so when we ask them to put their phones away, um 99% of the time they comply and and do what we ask them to do.
00:35:30.639 --> 00:35:32.960
Um, so I I think it's gone well.
00:35:33.119 --> 00:35:44.079
Um, I I you my daughter who is a senior at Ren was uh telling us the other day like that they're they're talking to each other at lunch and they run out of stuff to talk about.
00:35:44.719 --> 00:35:46.639
I'm like, well, that's a good that's a good thing.
00:35:46.880 --> 00:35:48.079
That's right, that's right.
00:35:48.400 --> 00:35:48.960
Wow.
00:35:49.840 --> 00:35:53.920
Sometimes, yeah, I long for the old days when it was just you know, it was easier.
00:35:54.079 --> 00:35:56.079
It was so much easier, less distraction.
00:35:56.400 --> 00:35:56.639
Yep.
00:35:56.800 --> 00:35:58.800
And that and that's a safety thing too.
00:35:58.960 --> 00:36:08.639
Um is uh I think having your phones put away is a distraction that you're not having to worry about, but there's some drama that's social media.
00:36:09.039 --> 00:36:09.440
Absolutely.
00:36:09.599 --> 00:36:13.519
So it's uh but I think the cell phone stuff's been fine.
00:36:13.760 --> 00:36:15.119
Yeah, and I think it's been minimal.
00:36:15.440 --> 00:36:16.719
I agree, very minimal.
00:36:17.039 --> 00:36:24.159
Yeah, I mean our kids will have it out sometimes just because it's part of an assignment, they'll use it for their script or whatever, but they're not playing around on it.
00:36:24.239 --> 00:36:28.320
Yeah, and so uh yeah, I think they're being very, very compliant.
00:36:28.480 --> 00:36:34.239
Uh the only drama, by the way, seems to come from the Ren Girls that we're having a problem with over here.
00:36:34.320 --> 00:36:41.760
So just so you know, it's uh I haven't heard your daughter's name mentioned, but uh but it seems like there's always drama with the Wren Girls.
00:36:42.000 --> 00:36:43.599
Um, how about AI?
00:36:44.559 --> 00:36:49.920
AI is one of those things that I think every day we're learning more about it.
00:36:50.000 --> 00:36:54.800
And we can we learn more about how it can be a useful tool.
00:36:55.119 --> 00:37:02.159
And I mean, even helping us come up with handouts and that that kind of thing.
00:37:02.480 --> 00:37:14.000
Um, but it's it's we have some guidelines that that we have where um at the elementary level, um, these are the expectations with using AI, which is very minimal.
00:37:14.159 --> 00:37:34.719
But then when you get to middle and high school, really trying to spell out the expectations that we all have for students completing work um and and making sure it's their work, um, and and realizing that AI is becoming one of those things that kids are are more comfortable using than than we are.
00:37:34.800 --> 00:37:42.800
So it's like my son, who's a college student, will put a paper in and copy and paste it in the chat GPT and say, check, check my grammar on this.
00:37:43.679 --> 00:37:53.440
Or um did I uh he was even telling me, oh, tell him if he's plagiarized something, making sure that he's got the correct citations in place to do things.
00:37:53.599 --> 00:37:59.280
So I think AI is not this big scary thing we all need to be afraid of as much.
00:37:59.519 --> 00:38:02.400
Um, but it's one of those things we're continually learning about.
00:38:02.480 --> 00:38:17.760
Every time I go to a state meeting, I feel like an hour of it or or two hours of it is devoted to AI because it is one of those things that we know we have to have some guardrails up to make sure that that we have appropriate policies to protect everybody involved.
00:38:18.239 --> 00:38:21.360
And you know, we did the same thing with cell phones when cell phones came out, right?
00:38:21.519 --> 00:38:29.599
We had the same apprehension to a point, and then we just need to utilize it because this is part of the work world, yep, right.
00:38:29.920 --> 00:38:39.199
And AI is going to be used for good or bad, and then and so we have to teach the proper way to do that, and you have to teach the teachers because things evolving all the time.
00:38:39.440 --> 00:38:39.840
Absolutely.
00:38:40.000 --> 00:38:41.199
Um, they've got to know what's going on.
00:38:41.920 --> 00:38:42.480
It's weird.
00:38:42.559 --> 00:38:50.639
I I uh suddenly I look around the room when I'm in like staff meetings and stuff, and I'm like, well, I'm I'm one of the older people in here.
00:38:52.000 --> 00:39:02.960
But our this is where and we need to pause and listen to some of our younger folks because they have been around, they've lived with this and understand it a little bit better.
00:39:03.039 --> 00:39:12.800
And and it's not something we need to be scared of, but uh as we get more um experienced, sometimes changing, and I've noticed that that's a little more difficult for me.
00:39:12.880 --> 00:39:14.639
I get kind of stuck in my ways a little bit.
00:39:14.880 --> 00:39:17.440
That's the way my dad was when computers first came out.
00:39:17.679 --> 00:39:19.760
He never really got onto a computer.
00:39:19.840 --> 00:39:25.280
Yeah, you just do everything the old way and read the newspaper and write on paper and do all the old things.
00:39:25.519 --> 00:39:26.719
And now there's like no newspapers.
00:39:27.039 --> 00:39:27.199
Right.
00:39:27.280 --> 00:39:28.159
There's no newspapers.
00:39:28.559 --> 00:39:30.079
You have to do everything digitally.
00:39:31.039 --> 00:39:35.679
Um and you know, the cell phone was next, and now we've got AI, and who knows what'll be next.
00:39:35.840 --> 00:39:39.280
That's that's the only scary part of AI, is it's just gonna get better and better.
00:39:39.440 --> 00:39:40.639
And how are you gonna tell the difference?
00:39:40.800 --> 00:39:41.199
Yeah, that's right.
00:39:41.280 --> 00:39:44.079
Uh we'll have holograms for teachers pretty soon and all that.
00:39:44.239 --> 00:39:46.400
So there's nothing that can replace the teacher.
00:39:46.639 --> 00:39:47.119
That's right.
00:39:47.199 --> 00:39:48.400
That's what I like to hear.
00:39:48.559 --> 00:39:49.039
All right.
00:39:49.119 --> 00:39:51.679
Um, anything else you want to add, uh, Dr.
00:39:51.760 --> 00:39:54.800
Young, before we move on to the uh less serious part of the show?
00:39:55.599 --> 00:39:56.320
I think I hit it.
00:39:56.719 --> 00:39:57.920
Okay, I think you hit it too.
00:39:58.079 --> 00:39:58.800
I think we covered everything.
00:39:58.880 --> 00:40:00.320
Holland, you got anything to add?
00:40:01.119 --> 00:40:01.599
I'm good.
00:40:01.760 --> 00:40:05.440
I think he's I'm fortunate that my kids in in Anderson One.
00:40:05.519 --> 00:40:12.079
I'm fortunate that we have good kids and that we work very well together because it wouldn't work if this didn't happen this way.
00:40:12.400 --> 00:40:12.480
Yeah.
00:40:12.719 --> 00:40:13.760
I love Anderson One.
00:40:13.840 --> 00:40:16.159
I mean, we moved actually, I don't live in Anderson One anymore.
00:40:16.320 --> 00:40:17.760
We moved down to O'Coney County.
00:40:18.000 --> 00:40:18.559
We gotta come back.
00:40:18.719 --> 00:40:20.719
Yeah, and O'Coni gets more money per kid.
00:40:20.800 --> 00:40:21.280
Yeah.
00:40:21.519 --> 00:40:23.280
But our kids go to school in Anderson One.
00:40:23.440 --> 00:40:24.159
Good figure.
00:40:24.400 --> 00:40:26.880
Um, and uh it just wasn't the same.
00:40:27.039 --> 00:40:33.199
We did try to put them in there at first when we moved down there, and then we're like, nah, we're going back to Anderson One.
00:40:33.280 --> 00:40:33.679
We love it.
00:40:34.079 --> 00:40:45.280
So uh Holly, yes, can you, as my wonderful assistant, uh, grab the trays that are outside as we prepare for this highly educational segment of the show?
00:40:45.920 --> 00:40:50.480
Um we uh just to give you a little background, Dr.
00:40:50.559 --> 00:40:50.960
Young.
00:40:51.119 --> 00:40:54.960
I uh my wife actually is responsible for this segment.
00:40:55.119 --> 00:41:01.360
All right, but we were going through TikTok, which is of course where this is exciting.
00:41:02.079 --> 00:41:05.920
You can have everything on there, and there's even extra you can take home.
00:41:06.159 --> 00:41:12.880
Um but we were, of course, getting our news off of TikTok because that's the most uh reliable news source out there, 100%.
00:41:13.360 --> 00:41:18.880
And uh saw a guy that was doing this little thing, and I thought, uh, you know, maybe that'll be fun to do on a show.
00:41:19.039 --> 00:41:21.760
Holly always likes things that are that are food related.
00:41:22.000 --> 00:41:22.159
I do.
00:41:22.400 --> 00:41:22.960
She's a foodie.
00:41:23.760 --> 00:41:24.239
Yes.
00:41:24.480 --> 00:41:32.559
Um, so these things that we're gonna try here are trying to combine foods to taste like another food.
00:41:32.800 --> 00:41:33.199
Huh.
00:41:33.440 --> 00:41:33.760
Okay.
00:41:34.400 --> 00:41:35.360
So I don't know.
00:41:35.440 --> 00:41:37.119
We may have to get a here.
00:41:37.199 --> 00:41:40.719
I'm gonna try to we might need a knife or something for the banana thing.
00:41:41.440 --> 00:41:41.920
Yeah, keep it.
00:41:42.159 --> 00:41:42.719
What I've got here.
00:41:42.880 --> 00:41:43.280
I'm trying.
00:41:43.679 --> 00:41:44.880
I think I think that's pretty good.
00:41:44.960 --> 00:41:45.519
Turn it a little bit.
00:41:45.679 --> 00:41:46.079
Can you see it?
00:41:46.320 --> 00:41:46.800
Turn it a little bit.
00:41:46.960 --> 00:41:47.199
There we go.
00:41:48.159 --> 00:41:48.719
So we got a plate.
00:41:48.880 --> 00:41:52.239
Oh no, no, now it's all mixing together.
00:41:52.480 --> 00:41:52.880
All right.
00:41:52.960 --> 00:41:56.320
So the first one on the list there is get uh get a piece of lemon.
00:41:56.480 --> 00:41:56.639
Okay.
00:41:56.880 --> 00:41:58.000
Maybe we should have utensils.
00:41:58.320 --> 00:41:59.840
You want to uh I can do utensils.
00:42:02.559 --> 00:42:03.760
Well, yeah, we'll need that.
00:42:04.000 --> 00:42:04.960
I don't have any of those.
00:42:05.039 --> 00:42:06.800
I have paper towels right outside the door there.
00:42:07.840 --> 00:42:08.960
Good to be prepared for everything.
00:42:09.119 --> 00:42:09.360
I understand.
00:42:09.519 --> 00:42:13.679
But we're combining a lemon and a piece of banana.
00:42:14.159 --> 00:42:20.719
Okay, so uh thanks to uh Chef Maure for putting this together for us today.
00:42:20.960 --> 00:42:22.880
So we're doing uh lemon and banana.
00:42:23.119 --> 00:42:24.400
So I need to eat it together?
00:42:24.880 --> 00:42:25.119
Together.
00:42:25.280 --> 00:42:26.079
You have to eat it together.
00:42:26.480 --> 00:42:27.360
Yeah, we might need a knife.
00:42:27.840 --> 00:42:28.719
Yeah, for the banana.
00:42:29.039 --> 00:42:31.280
Even just for the lemon.
00:42:31.679 --> 00:42:35.679
I'm just gonna take it like this and pour the lemon on top of it.
00:42:35.760 --> 00:42:36.480
Pour the lemon on top of it.
00:42:36.559 --> 00:42:37.920
So you're gonna pour like squirt the lemon.
00:42:38.320 --> 00:42:39.599
Squeeze the lemon on top of it.
00:42:39.840 --> 00:42:40.079
Okay.
00:42:40.239 --> 00:42:41.440
So that's what I'm gonna do too.
00:42:41.760 --> 00:42:42.719
I square it a lot.
00:42:42.960 --> 00:42:43.920
So I'm gonna do this, right?
00:42:44.159 --> 00:42:45.039
Can you see me here we got it?
00:42:46.079 --> 00:42:46.320
All right.
00:42:46.480 --> 00:42:47.920
I got plenty of lemon juice on here.
00:42:48.239 --> 00:42:49.360
I do too, and then we eat it.
00:42:49.760 --> 00:42:54.159
You taste it and tell me if it tastes like any other food, and I'll tell you what it's supposed to be.
00:42:55.519 --> 00:42:56.079
Alright.
00:42:57.519 --> 00:42:58.400
Oh my!
00:43:01.280 --> 00:43:02.800
I probably didn't get enough lemon on it.
00:43:02.880 --> 00:43:03.519
What do you think it is?
00:43:03.920 --> 00:43:05.440
It definitely tastes different.
00:43:05.760 --> 00:43:07.760
It's supposed to taste like pineapple.
00:43:09.199 --> 00:43:09.519
Pineapple?
00:43:09.840 --> 00:43:11.039
I could see that a little more if I got it.
00:43:11.519 --> 00:43:12.960
It has a pineapple aftertaste, too.
00:43:13.280 --> 00:43:14.079
That's what I was just gonna say.
00:43:14.159 --> 00:43:15.519
I didn't get it till the aftertaste.
00:43:15.760 --> 00:43:15.840
Yeah.
00:43:16.719 --> 00:43:20.239
And probably because I didn't get a big chunk of lemon, I just had the lemon juice.
00:43:20.480 --> 00:43:24.079
Yeah, I'm putting a way, I'm gonna try this again and do way more lemon juice this time.
00:43:25.840 --> 00:43:27.840
Yeah, I think if you do make way more lemon juice.
00:43:28.239 --> 00:43:29.679
I don't like pineapple, so I won't try it anymore.
00:43:29.920 --> 00:43:30.960
I do like pineapple.
00:43:31.360 --> 00:43:36.000
But maybe if you got a little uh little bit part of the lemon on there.
00:43:36.320 --> 00:43:38.639
I definitely I I can you can see where that's happening.
00:43:39.840 --> 00:43:40.079
Okay.
00:43:40.639 --> 00:43:43.679
Um that that may be legit.
00:43:43.840 --> 00:43:44.159
All right.
00:43:44.239 --> 00:43:49.039
The next one, also a piece of banana you're gonna need for this and a piece of cantaloupe.
00:43:49.360 --> 00:43:49.599
Okay.
00:43:50.000 --> 00:43:51.039
Okay, so try that.
00:43:51.280 --> 00:43:57.199
So can I just take can I do it together, like take a small bite of cantaloupe and then a bite of and chew it up together?
00:43:57.519 --> 00:43:59.679
Store that in your mouth a little bit the first one.
00:44:00.079 --> 00:44:01.519
And then put the second one in.
00:44:05.199 --> 00:44:14.480
Okay, I got some kind of uh doesn't taste like a whole lot.
00:44:14.639 --> 00:44:14.880
No.
00:44:15.119 --> 00:44:16.639
It almost cancels each other out.
00:44:16.800 --> 00:44:17.199
Mm-hmm.
00:44:17.440 --> 00:44:18.559
I would agree with that.
00:44:18.800 --> 00:44:20.559
I suppose it tastes like bubblegum.
00:44:21.039 --> 00:44:22.559
No, I do not taste bubblegum.
00:44:22.719 --> 00:44:26.000
It tastes like bubblegum after you've it's lost its flavor.
00:44:26.800 --> 00:44:31.039
And again, if there's any taste of it, I think it again comes with the aftertaste.
00:44:31.280 --> 00:44:31.599
I agree.
00:44:31.679 --> 00:44:33.840
I I now I'm getting an aftertaste of it.
00:44:34.320 --> 00:44:34.719
Not at all.
00:44:36.559 --> 00:44:37.119
Are y'all getting it?
00:44:37.280 --> 00:44:37.920
Try it again, holly.
00:44:38.159 --> 00:44:45.199
I wonder, I wonder if it's because with that one that we you put the cantaloupe in there first, so you're I don't know how all that works.
00:44:45.440 --> 00:44:52.159
Like I don't know how the biology of your mouth and taste buds and if it's I can, you know, I got a little aftertaste that time.
00:44:52.320 --> 00:44:52.960
I like the first one.
00:44:53.199 --> 00:44:54.800
I feel the aftertaste of it big time.
00:44:55.039 --> 00:44:55.360
Okay.
00:44:55.599 --> 00:44:55.920
All right.
00:44:56.000 --> 00:44:57.119
You ready for the third one?
00:44:57.280 --> 00:44:57.679
Mm-hmm.
00:44:58.000 --> 00:45:00.159
You got uh you got a cucumber here.
00:45:00.719 --> 00:45:02.800
You want to put a little sugar on it.
00:45:03.920 --> 00:45:05.199
Sugar on the cucumber?
00:45:05.360 --> 00:45:06.320
So just dip it in?
00:45:06.559 --> 00:45:06.719
Yeah.
00:45:07.039 --> 00:45:07.440
Just dip it?
00:45:07.840 --> 00:45:08.960
Pour it on, whatever.
00:45:09.760 --> 00:45:10.320
Alright.
00:45:10.719 --> 00:45:12.000
I just had a party foul.
00:45:12.239 --> 00:45:14.159
I just thought you put it everywhere.
00:45:16.800 --> 00:45:19.440
This one does taste like what it's supposed to taste like.
00:45:20.880 --> 00:45:22.320
What do you think it tastes like?
00:45:26.400 --> 00:45:27.599
All right, I gotta do that again.
00:45:28.239 --> 00:45:30.400
Do it again, because this one I got right away.
00:45:32.960 --> 00:45:33.760
How much sugar is it?
00:45:34.000 --> 00:45:35.760
The texture is even I use a lot.
00:45:37.760 --> 00:45:40.000
The texture is even similar.
00:45:41.280 --> 00:45:42.320
It does taste different.
00:45:42.719 --> 00:45:43.119
What's it?
00:45:43.199 --> 00:45:43.840
What is it?
00:45:44.559 --> 00:45:45.280
I don't know.
00:45:45.519 --> 00:45:48.320
It's supposed to be watermelon, which I can get.
00:45:48.639 --> 00:45:49.920
I think I taste that.
00:45:50.639 --> 00:45:52.320
Maybe I'm not putting enough sugar on it.
00:45:52.559 --> 00:45:53.360
Just pour it on there.
00:45:53.599 --> 00:45:54.639
How much sugar are you putting on?
00:45:54.880 --> 00:45:55.039
Okay.
00:45:55.119 --> 00:45:55.599
Oh, watch.
00:45:56.079 --> 00:45:56.960
He's putting a lot.
00:45:57.519 --> 00:45:59.760
Am I gonna need more cucumber in a little bit?
00:46:01.360 --> 00:46:01.679
No.
00:46:02.079 --> 00:46:02.400
Okay.
00:46:03.519 --> 00:46:05.280
Am I gonna need more sugar in a little bit?
00:46:05.599 --> 00:46:05.840
No.
00:46:08.719 --> 00:46:09.360
Do you get it now?
00:46:09.679 --> 00:46:10.559
I think you have to have a lot of sugar.
00:46:10.719 --> 00:46:13.760
But your cucumber ratio needs to equal out.
00:46:14.400 --> 00:46:14.880
And I agree.
00:46:17.280 --> 00:46:18.639
I can definitely taste some watermelon.
00:46:19.039 --> 00:46:19.840
Not even aftertaste.
00:46:19.920 --> 00:46:20.559
Like as soon as we're gonna go.
00:46:20.719 --> 00:46:21.360
Yeah, right away.
00:46:21.519 --> 00:46:21.840
Right away.
00:46:21.920 --> 00:46:22.400
I got that one.
00:46:22.639 --> 00:46:22.960
Yeah.
00:46:23.280 --> 00:46:25.840
Like I said, this is very educational for our listeners and viewers.
00:46:26.159 --> 00:46:27.039
But it's fun for us.
00:46:27.440 --> 00:46:28.559
All right, the next one.
00:46:29.360 --> 00:46:33.519
Take a couple of potato chips and put that tomato in the middle.
00:46:34.079 --> 00:46:37.199
Oh, the tomato put the tomato in like a tomato sandwich with potato chips.
00:46:42.559 --> 00:46:42.639
There.
00:46:43.519 --> 00:46:44.159
Tomato.
00:46:58.719 --> 00:46:59.840
I just tasted tomato.
00:47:00.400 --> 00:47:00.800
I did too.
00:47:00.880 --> 00:47:01.440
That's what I was gonna say.
00:47:02.079 --> 00:47:02.880
I may need more chips.
00:47:03.440 --> 00:47:04.079
Is it ham?
00:47:05.039 --> 00:47:05.360
No.
00:47:07.440 --> 00:47:08.800
It's supposed to be pizza.
00:47:09.360 --> 00:47:12.079
But I think I needed more chips for that to happen.
00:47:12.400 --> 00:47:15.199
I wonder if my chip to tomato ratio was too much.
00:47:15.519 --> 00:47:19.679
I'm gonna be honest, it made me remember like a tomato.
00:47:20.480 --> 00:47:21.360
Like a good tomato sandwich.
00:47:21.519 --> 00:47:24.960
Yeah, a good southern tomato sandwich with some cute's mail.
00:47:26.880 --> 00:47:27.760
Did you say pizza?
00:47:28.079 --> 00:47:28.880
Pizza, yeah.
00:47:30.000 --> 00:47:30.880
Not really getting that.
00:47:31.199 --> 00:47:34.079
Although when you think about it, you can see how it could.
00:47:34.960 --> 00:47:40.639
Because it's tomato and the chips have the saltiness and whatever of the I like it.
00:47:41.360 --> 00:47:42.079
Bread or whatever.
00:47:42.239 --> 00:47:43.199
But yeah, interesting.
00:47:43.440 --> 00:47:47.119
If you come in with a bowl of chips and tomato, now I wanna know why.
00:47:47.360 --> 00:47:48.159
Alright, there's one more.
00:47:48.320 --> 00:47:48.639
Okay.
00:47:49.599 --> 00:47:52.159
Um you're gonna leave gonna need the lemon again.
00:47:52.320 --> 00:47:52.559
Okay.
00:47:52.800 --> 00:47:54.320
Lemon with uh cinnamon.
00:47:54.400 --> 00:47:55.679
This is cinnamon over here.
00:47:55.920 --> 00:47:58.400
So we we're gonna have to take a bite of it this time, right?
00:47:58.639 --> 00:47:59.840
I yeah, I guess so.
00:48:00.960 --> 00:48:01.280
Okay.
00:48:01.679 --> 00:48:02.079
All right.
00:48:02.239 --> 00:48:06.239
So we're uh I was gonna say I I want to say the ratio.
00:48:06.400 --> 00:48:08.000
Oh goodness, thought we're young.
00:48:08.239 --> 00:48:09.280
I'm getting after it.
00:48:10.000 --> 00:48:15.360
At least we're not doing the cinnamon challenge where you this makes me a little bit nervous biting into the lemon, but I'm going for it.
00:48:15.519 --> 00:48:16.000
Okay, you're gonna.
00:48:16.320 --> 00:48:16.559
Me too.
00:48:16.719 --> 00:48:16.960
Go ahead.
00:48:17.199 --> 00:48:17.679
Going for it.
00:48:24.159 --> 00:48:24.559
All right.
00:48:24.800 --> 00:48:26.079
I'm not really getting that one.
00:48:26.960 --> 00:48:27.840
Where'd my water?
00:48:29.840 --> 00:48:32.159
Aftertaste again, but I had too much lemon.
00:48:32.559 --> 00:48:33.440
Too much lemon.
00:48:38.880 --> 00:48:39.920
That was a great one to end on.
00:48:41.760 --> 00:48:42.800
I had too much lemon.
00:48:43.039 --> 00:48:44.320
I think I would rather like to do the lemon.
00:48:44.800 --> 00:48:46.079
What's the aftertaste though?
00:48:46.800 --> 00:48:47.760
I I missed it.
00:48:48.239 --> 00:48:49.519
I think I got a coffee.
00:48:50.000 --> 00:48:50.880
Okay, you're close.
00:48:51.360 --> 00:48:52.239
It is a drink.
00:48:55.039 --> 00:48:56.880
You're just pouring the cinnamon in your mouth?
00:48:57.280 --> 00:49:00.480
I took it I took a bite of the lemon and then put the cinnamon in.
00:49:00.800 --> 00:49:01.519
I'm very curious.
00:49:01.840 --> 00:49:02.400
It's Coke.
00:49:02.960 --> 00:49:03.840
Coca-Cola.
00:49:05.840 --> 00:49:06.159
No?
00:49:06.639 --> 00:49:08.960
I think it's more coffee-like.
00:49:11.599 --> 00:49:12.960
I may I must not be doing it.
00:49:13.840 --> 00:49:15.760
I guess it all depends on the the ratio.
00:49:15.840 --> 00:49:17.760
But when I bit that lemon, that was the end of it for me.
00:49:17.920 --> 00:49:18.639
I didn't get any cinnamon.
00:49:18.960 --> 00:49:20.559
I still can only taste lemon, yeah.
00:49:20.880 --> 00:49:23.039
And I tried to load it up with some cinnamon.
00:49:24.800 --> 00:49:26.000
No, I wasn't impressed with that one.
00:49:26.159 --> 00:49:27.519
I squirted myself and everything.
00:49:28.000 --> 00:49:28.800
I'm not impressed with that.
00:49:29.199 --> 00:49:30.320
All right, so those are five.
00:49:30.400 --> 00:49:32.880
If you can look on, and those were the best ones.
00:49:33.360 --> 00:49:36.639
There were some other ones that were really the guy was like choking up on it.
00:49:36.719 --> 00:49:37.840
I'm like, I'm not trying those.
00:49:37.920 --> 00:49:39.599
I'll try the five most successful.
00:49:39.920 --> 00:49:41.440
So um interesting.
00:49:41.760 --> 00:49:43.280
So how did we do?
00:49:43.920 --> 00:49:46.000
Lemon and banana, did it taste like pineapple?
00:49:46.239 --> 00:49:46.719
I'll say yes.
00:49:46.880 --> 00:49:46.960
Yes.
00:49:47.199 --> 00:49:49.280
I'll say yes, yes, especially on the aftertaste.
00:49:49.519 --> 00:49:50.719
Cantaloupe and banana?
00:49:50.880 --> 00:49:51.119
Yes.
00:49:51.360 --> 00:49:52.639
Did it taste like bubblegum?
00:49:52.880 --> 00:49:54.079
No, not bubblegum.
00:49:54.320 --> 00:49:55.599
I didn't get that one either.
00:49:55.840 --> 00:49:59.760
But there was a little aftertaste, but not as obvious as the first one.
00:50:00.000 --> 00:50:02.320
Uh, sugar and cucumber equals watermelon.
00:50:02.559 --> 00:50:04.159
That one I'd say probably the best one of the lot.
00:50:04.559 --> 00:50:07.519
And I think it even goes down to the texture of it, right?
00:50:07.840 --> 00:50:08.480
Like I think all of it.
00:50:08.800 --> 00:50:14.559
Because when you bid in, and of course I knew ahead of time, but biting in it it felt like you're eating watermelon.
00:50:14.960 --> 00:50:18.639
Um, tomato in between potato chips equaling pizza.
00:50:18.880 --> 00:50:19.039
No.
00:50:19.360 --> 00:50:20.400
No, I didn't really get that.
00:50:20.559 --> 00:50:21.119
That was lame.
00:50:21.360 --> 00:50:22.320
I just needed mayonnaise.
00:50:22.639 --> 00:50:27.519
And then and then uh lemon with cinnamon equaling Coca-Cola.
00:50:27.760 --> 00:50:29.199
No, I didn't get that.
00:50:29.760 --> 00:50:31.760
I wonder if I had lemon juice.
00:50:32.320 --> 00:50:33.280
If it would make a difference.
00:50:33.599 --> 00:50:34.079
Well, try that.
00:50:34.400 --> 00:50:36.159
No, I'm pour it in the cinnamon.
00:50:36.320 --> 00:50:39.280
I wonder if we could do some lemonade with cinnamon.
00:50:39.599 --> 00:50:40.320
Oh, pour it in the colour.
00:50:40.480 --> 00:50:41.519
Maybe it tastes like coke?
00:50:41.679 --> 00:50:42.159
Yeah.
00:50:42.400 --> 00:50:43.199
That's interesting.
00:50:43.440 --> 00:50:44.800
Pour it in the cinnamon now.
00:50:44.880 --> 00:50:45.199
That might be.
00:50:45.440 --> 00:50:45.760
I'm doing it.
00:50:46.400 --> 00:50:47.039
I am, I'm doing it.
00:50:47.199 --> 00:50:49.440
I've got plenty of lemon juice over here, too.
00:50:50.639 --> 00:50:50.880
Oh.
00:50:51.679 --> 00:50:52.480
But it doesn't mix well.
00:50:52.880 --> 00:50:53.280
Yeah, I came.
00:50:53.599 --> 00:50:54.079
It does not mix.
00:50:54.400 --> 00:50:58.400
It might be late for the tennis match because I was it doesn't mix well.
00:50:58.639 --> 00:51:03.679
I'm gonna have to say, stand outside in the heat and have this aftertaste for the next couple hours.
00:51:04.000 --> 00:51:04.559
Didn't work.
00:51:04.800 --> 00:51:05.519
No, I'll take your word.
00:51:06.079 --> 00:51:06.239
Yep.
00:51:06.639 --> 00:51:07.519
Don't, don't, don't, yeah.
00:51:07.760 --> 00:51:10.400
I was about to fall victim to peer pressure and try it myself.
00:51:10.719 --> 00:51:12.480
But then when I saw her face, yeah.
00:51:12.639 --> 00:51:12.880
No.
00:51:13.199 --> 00:51:13.519
It doesn't.
00:51:13.840 --> 00:51:18.480
Okay, so we you you have to leave in a couple of minutes, and of course, every show we get the recommendations.
00:51:18.719 --> 00:51:19.039
Okay.
00:51:19.280 --> 00:51:22.880
So uh entertainment and food recommendations, Dr.
00:51:23.039 --> 00:51:23.920
Seth Young.
00:51:24.000 --> 00:51:25.199
What do we got for entertainment?
00:51:25.360 --> 00:51:29.599
Whether we're watching something, binging something, movie, book, whatever.
00:51:30.079 --> 00:51:34.960
Well, first off, I'm sure most people have seen it, but the Odyssey was terrific.
00:51:35.199 --> 00:51:35.440
Was it?
00:51:35.519 --> 00:51:36.159
I haven't seen it.
00:51:36.480 --> 00:51:36.960
Yeah, you gotta see it.
00:51:37.119 --> 00:51:37.360
It really was.
00:51:37.840 --> 00:51:38.960
You gotta see the Odyssey.
00:51:39.199 --> 00:51:40.239
Um kudos.
00:51:40.480 --> 00:51:40.639
Yeah.
00:51:41.760 --> 00:51:45.280
Um and then Netflix show Night Agent.
00:51:45.440 --> 00:51:46.000
Yeah, that's good.
00:51:46.559 --> 00:51:50.559
Somebody recommended Night Agent to us, and we we watched several seasons of it.
00:51:50.719 --> 00:51:52.079
There's a new season coming out, I think.
00:51:52.320 --> 00:51:52.639
Is there?
00:51:52.719 --> 00:51:53.599
I thought it got canceled.
00:51:53.679 --> 00:51:55.760
But I think I think it I think I saw one more.
00:51:56.159 --> 00:51:56.639
One more season.
00:51:58.000 --> 00:52:01.440
But I'll I I especially enjoy the first season of that when they were setting it all up.
00:52:01.840 --> 00:52:04.719
You kind of know what to expect after that, but yeah, that was good.
00:52:05.039 --> 00:52:06.800
Um Eversteen Slow Horses.
00:52:07.360 --> 00:52:08.000
Oh, that's awesome.
00:52:08.239 --> 00:52:09.920
And it starts this week.
00:52:10.239 --> 00:52:13.039
And and that so I didn't realize it was based on books.
00:52:13.280 --> 00:52:13.519
Yes.
00:52:13.599 --> 00:52:16.320
Um Apple TV.
00:52:16.480 --> 00:52:17.119
It's on Apple TV.
00:52:18.000 --> 00:52:24.079
My dad got me the book, and the book is even better because it's into the background of the whole bunch of books, right?
00:52:24.239 --> 00:52:24.320
Yeah.
00:52:24.559 --> 00:52:36.320
And it gets into the background of the characters, and it it because I don't think this is spoiling anything because it happens in the first episode, but you remember Cartwright gets sent to Slow Horse.
00:52:36.880 --> 00:52:44.800
Well, you kind of you get to learn more in the book about his backstory, which I I thought I had I wish I had known more about that.
00:52:45.039 --> 00:52:47.440
What and his dad and granddad and all that stuff.
00:52:48.159 --> 00:52:54.480
You get you get more behind the scenes in how he landed there and why people are looking after him and that kind of thing.
00:52:54.800 --> 00:52:59.280
Yeah, it's about British agents who basically get punished for something that has happened.
00:52:59.599 --> 00:53:08.559
So they go to the lowest level of of the agents, and they're still agents, but they get you know all the bad cases and all supposedly.
00:53:08.719 --> 00:53:11.119
But then the team is great at solving things.
00:53:11.440 --> 00:53:12.079
Is it just one season?
00:53:12.559 --> 00:53:13.840
No, there's like several six.
00:53:14.159 --> 00:53:15.440
Oh, okay, yeah, stuff like that.
00:53:16.000 --> 00:53:18.400
And it starts uh 16th, that's Wednesday.
00:53:18.480 --> 00:53:18.800
That's tomorrow.
00:53:19.039 --> 00:53:20.559
Yeah, the new season starts tomorrow.
00:53:20.960 --> 00:53:22.239
And all the seasons are good.
00:53:22.639 --> 00:53:23.920
I've only watched the first two.
00:53:24.239 --> 00:53:24.960
They are they are.
00:53:25.119 --> 00:53:25.760
I've watched them.
00:53:25.840 --> 00:53:26.400
They're they're great.
00:53:26.559 --> 00:53:26.880
Okay.
00:53:27.039 --> 00:53:29.519
And it's great, you know, espionage type things.
00:53:29.840 --> 00:53:30.000
Okay.
00:53:30.159 --> 00:53:30.719
It's really good.
00:53:30.800 --> 00:53:31.360
And it's funny.
00:53:31.599 --> 00:53:32.960
Gary O is it Gary Open?
00:53:33.199 --> 00:53:34.639
Yeah, he is phenomenal.
00:53:34.880 --> 00:53:35.519
He's very good.
00:53:35.679 --> 00:53:36.079
Yes.
00:53:36.239 --> 00:53:38.000
Um, all right, how about food?
00:53:38.320 --> 00:53:39.119
Food.
00:53:39.760 --> 00:53:43.119
Um y'all digging lately.
00:53:44.159 --> 00:53:49.280
Honestly, I've gone to the nosedive in downtown Greenville and Main Street a couple times recently and just loved it.
00:53:49.519 --> 00:53:51.920
And then I always what did you have there?
00:53:52.079 --> 00:53:53.440
Um I've been there.
00:53:53.679 --> 00:53:57.519
I the thing I got one time was like their special.
00:53:57.840 --> 00:54:03.760
It was like a um like a barbecue type sandwich thing that was really good.
00:54:04.079 --> 00:54:06.559
But you ever ever been there for Sunday brunch?
00:54:07.199 --> 00:54:07.840
I have.
00:54:08.159 --> 00:54:08.800
It's delicious.
00:54:09.519 --> 00:54:10.000
What do they have?
00:54:10.320 --> 00:54:10.559
Everything.
00:54:11.039 --> 00:54:15.039
Everything they've got their grits are super good.
00:54:15.360 --> 00:54:19.599
Um, but they've got some like fancy French toast stuff that is so good.
00:54:19.920 --> 00:54:21.360
It's is top-notch.
00:54:21.519 --> 00:54:31.440
And then my son transferred to Anderson University, and we introduced him to uh we we don't go to Anderson like we go to Greenville, but Earl Street Cafe.
00:54:31.760 --> 00:54:32.320
Oh, that's great.
00:54:32.639 --> 00:54:33.199
That place is great.
00:54:33.519 --> 00:54:35.440
And the prices are manageable.
00:54:35.599 --> 00:54:44.960
So I was telling telling my son Grant, like, this is a place that you know every once in a while you can come get a good meal when it's not bad, or if a real good meal.
00:54:45.119 --> 00:54:51.679
If you needed to take his girlfriend or something, you gotta have a girlfriend, but yeah, like that's a good date spot that you can afford.
00:54:52.239 --> 00:54:52.639
Sure, sure.
00:54:52.800 --> 00:54:55.679
Yeah, Mary Bortz was the one that first recommended on our show.
00:54:55.840 --> 00:54:56.159
Yeah, yeah.
00:54:56.320 --> 00:54:58.960
So and that's when I went, and we've gone several times since great place.
00:54:59.519 --> 00:54:59.920
Great place.
00:55:00.239 --> 00:55:01.199
Nashville hot chicken.
00:55:01.360 --> 00:55:04.239
Oh, Steve, I'm not a huge hot chicken fan.
00:55:04.320 --> 00:55:06.880
Oh but uh people that like it love it.
00:55:07.119 --> 00:55:07.519
Collard greens.
00:55:07.760 --> 00:55:08.719
Their collard greens are good.
00:55:08.880 --> 00:55:12.159
Oh, I could I could eat something this big of collard greens.
00:55:12.400 --> 00:55:12.800
Big trade.
00:55:13.199 --> 00:55:14.239
The collard greens are good.
00:55:14.320 --> 00:55:18.320
We I had the chicken fried chicken once, and it comes with it, and it's delicious.
00:55:18.639 --> 00:55:18.880
Yep.
00:55:19.199 --> 00:55:19.519
All right.
00:55:19.599 --> 00:55:23.920
Well, uh, I know you gotta go, and uh hopefully your your daughter wins her match tonight.
00:55:24.159 --> 00:55:24.559
I appreciate it.
00:55:25.199 --> 00:55:25.679
Emerald.
00:55:26.000 --> 00:55:26.320
Okay.
00:55:26.800 --> 00:55:27.360
All right.
00:55:27.599 --> 00:55:29.280
And uh how's the team this year?
00:55:29.760 --> 00:55:30.880
They they're off to a good start.
00:55:30.960 --> 00:55:36.320
They they lost a tight one to Powdersville last week, so um, we'll see how that plays out in the region.
00:55:36.480 --> 00:55:39.679
But they they've had a really good start to the year, and Lydia's playing good.
00:55:40.000 --> 00:55:40.480
That's awesome.
00:55:40.639 --> 00:55:41.119
That's awesome.
00:55:41.199 --> 00:55:42.719
Yeah, thanks for joining us, taking your time.
00:55:42.800 --> 00:55:47.119
We know you're a very busy man, and uh people can catch your podcast now.
00:55:47.519 --> 00:55:55.760
Uh on uh yeah, the Anderson One website it's called A1 Excellence Excellence and Action Action Podcast.
00:55:55.920 --> 00:56:03.679
And it it after every board meeting, we kind of give a 10-minute snapshot of what we talked about and what's going on in Anderson One.
00:56:03.760 --> 00:56:04.880
So trying to keep you back.
00:56:05.280 --> 00:56:12.320
They can see that on the Tuesdays after our board meetings are on Tuesday night, so the Wednesday mornings after that we usually record it.
00:56:12.480 --> 00:56:13.760
Um it's video too?
00:56:13.920 --> 00:56:14.400
Yep, it's video.
00:56:14.800 --> 00:56:16.079
So it's on YouTube and all that too?
00:56:16.320 --> 00:56:16.800
It is correct.
00:56:16.960 --> 00:56:17.199
Perfect.
00:56:17.599 --> 00:56:21.280
We've uh learned people would rather listen to stuff than than read stuff.
00:56:21.360 --> 00:56:24.320
So trying to trying to give the people what they want.
00:56:24.639 --> 00:56:24.960
That's it.
00:56:25.039 --> 00:56:26.480
That's what we try to do here too.
00:56:26.880 --> 00:56:27.280
All right.
00:56:27.360 --> 00:56:29.039
Um thanks again for joining us.
00:56:29.119 --> 00:56:30.880
And uh tell Zach I said hello.
00:56:31.119 --> 00:56:33.280
Yeah, well he should be calling here any minute, Holly.
00:56:33.360 --> 00:56:34.239
So look at that.
00:56:34.559 --> 00:56:35.280
Real real concern.
00:56:35.519 --> 00:56:38.480
I'm really concerned about Clemson football.
00:56:38.559 --> 00:56:40.800
So uh whatever recommendations he has, yeah.
00:56:41.440 --> 00:56:42.400
I'll pass them right along.
00:56:42.480 --> 00:56:42.800
Yeah, sure.
00:56:43.039 --> 00:56:43.519
I will.
00:56:43.760 --> 00:56:44.559
All right, thanks again.
00:56:44.719 --> 00:56:44.880
Thank you.
00:56:45.119 --> 00:56:45.679
Thanks again.
00:56:45.920 --> 00:56:49.440
Uh while we wait for uh Zach to call, Holly.
00:56:49.679 --> 00:56:51.519
Yes, uh, what's what's been going on with you?
00:56:51.599 --> 00:56:56.639
Didn't you take a little trip or something while um well I was in Columbia.
00:56:57.119 --> 00:56:57.760
Thank you, sir.
00:56:58.400 --> 00:56:58.639
Thank you.
00:56:58.800 --> 00:57:00.559
I appreciate you saying, Oh, not that.
00:57:00.639 --> 00:57:02.960
I mean before that, didn't you go on some vacation or something?
00:57:03.280 --> 00:57:04.960
Well, I mean, I went oh I did.
00:57:05.119 --> 00:57:10.800
I took um the day three through eight off with my husband.
00:57:10.960 --> 00:57:12.880
I went to Reno, Nevada.
00:57:13.199 --> 00:57:16.159
Um I really liked taking the first week of school off.
00:57:16.320 --> 00:57:16.880
All the problems are.
00:57:17.119 --> 00:57:22.559
I don't think we liked it very much, but uh all the problems are solved um by the time I get back.
00:57:22.639 --> 00:57:29.679
You know, I've been doing this 30 years, and uh I think it's the first time ever I've taken the first week practically off of school.
00:57:29.920 --> 00:57:32.320
Um so what'd you like out there in Reno?
00:57:32.639 --> 00:57:33.840
So where all did you go?
00:57:34.079 --> 00:57:37.039
I'll be honest with you, it's really not a whole lot.
00:57:37.360 --> 00:57:43.280
Um Zach should be calling in in just a second, so I'm gonna have to check and um grab the phone.
00:57:43.519 --> 00:57:47.280
Um, but there's really it's like an old Vegas to a point.
00:57:47.440 --> 00:57:47.840
Yeah.
00:57:48.000 --> 00:57:48.800
Um it does.
00:57:49.119 --> 00:57:49.920
Did you go to Lake Tahoe?
00:57:50.559 --> 00:57:52.559
We did, and without now, that's gorgeous.
00:57:52.639 --> 00:57:52.800
Yeah.
00:57:52.960 --> 00:57:55.519
I would, in a heartbeat, go back to Lake Tahoe.
00:57:55.679 --> 00:58:02.960
Um, not I'm not a big gambler, so I'm not, you know, Vegas doesn't throw me, and obviously neither does Lake Tahoe now.
00:58:03.760 --> 00:58:08.239
Um so, but yeah, but uh Lake Tahoe is just beautiful.
00:58:08.480 --> 00:58:10.000
So there we go.
00:58:10.239 --> 00:58:10.719
There he is.
00:58:10.880 --> 00:58:15.599
Yeah, we had a story on the last show from Lake Tahoe where a woman was attacked by an otter.
00:58:15.840 --> 00:58:19.840
Um and we talked about that because that's big news on our show.
00:58:20.159 --> 00:58:21.920
Did you say did you say otter?
00:58:22.079 --> 00:58:23.920
Yes, that's why it was funny.
00:58:25.440 --> 00:58:28.480
How many times do you hear people getting attacked by an otter?
00:58:28.719 --> 00:58:31.199
Yeah, they're cute things that swim around.
00:58:31.519 --> 00:58:33.599
But anyway, Zach, are you there?
00:58:34.000 --> 00:58:34.800
I'm here.
00:58:35.039 --> 00:58:38.480
Yes, thank you for uh for adjusting a little bit.
00:58:38.559 --> 00:58:38.800
Dr.
00:58:38.880 --> 00:58:47.519
Young said he's sorry he missed you because I know uh he knows you well, and uh, but he had to get out of here for his daughter's tennis match.
00:58:47.679 --> 00:58:49.039
So how are you?
00:58:49.679 --> 00:58:50.719
I'm doing good, man.
00:58:50.800 --> 00:58:51.679
I'm sorry about that.
00:58:51.840 --> 00:58:59.199
Adjusting to this new schedule has my brain all out of whack and trying to just you know call orders and all that stuff.
00:58:59.519 --> 00:58:59.599
Yeah.
00:58:59.760 --> 00:59:10.400
I don't know where my reminder went because I always had a reminder set in my phone to call, and Tiffany would even text, would even call and say, Hey, did you remember to call?
00:59:10.559 --> 00:59:10.960
I don't know.
00:59:11.039 --> 00:59:16.800
I I I'm gonna have to start putting a reminder in there because everything going on it totally slipped my mind.
00:59:17.119 --> 00:59:20.960
Yeah, but you're running around with the little ones these days, too, aren't you?
00:59:21.119 --> 00:59:23.519
Yeah, picking them up for school and all that.
00:59:23.760 --> 00:59:27.039
So uh Zaching around uh hold on, hold on.
00:59:27.599 --> 00:59:29.119
I'm sorry, I don't want to interrupt your second.
00:59:30.239 --> 00:59:34.400
I'm trying to I'm chasing around my little ones like the Phillies are trying to chase the ones.
00:59:34.480 --> 00:59:34.880
Yeah, yeah.
00:59:34.960 --> 00:59:36.320
Well, I I've given up on that.
00:59:36.400 --> 00:59:38.320
So that you're not gonna get to me with that.
00:59:38.480 --> 00:59:41.199
Like I told you, just wait till the postseason, we'll see what happens.
00:59:41.599 --> 00:59:41.840
Yeah.
00:59:42.239 --> 00:59:44.159
You're right about that, for sure.
00:59:44.480 --> 00:59:47.760
But um, you know, I didn't watch all the Clemson game the other night.
00:59:47.840 --> 00:59:54.800
Of course, the big delay again, and then uh um, you know, it wasn't very exciting when I was watching it.
00:59:54.960 --> 01:00:03.280
But uh then I tune in later, and the positive spin makers were like, oh, this new quarterback, he he led them on five scoring drives.
01:00:03.440 --> 01:00:06.000
I'm like, wow, they must have scored like 30 some points.
01:00:06.400 --> 01:00:09.039
And then I found out four of them were field goals.
01:00:09.199 --> 01:00:09.519
Yes.
01:00:09.679 --> 01:00:11.280
Uh five of them were field goals.
01:00:11.519 --> 01:00:13.920
Okay, we scored a touchdown and we scored.
01:00:14.079 --> 01:00:14.320
Yes.
01:00:14.480 --> 01:00:15.039
Yeah, okay.
01:00:15.119 --> 01:00:16.239
So that's what you're down to now?
01:00:16.400 --> 01:00:21.119
You went from national championships down to we scored against Georgia Southern.
01:00:21.360 --> 01:00:22.639
So what's going on, Zach?
01:00:22.719 --> 01:00:25.599
Was it any better this week than last week?
01:00:25.840 --> 01:00:31.280
I'm gonna be honest with you, and I'm not, and I'm not, and I'm not making up excuses whatsoever.
01:00:31.599 --> 01:00:39.519
But I think the two-hour weather delay has a lot to do with it.
01:00:39.679 --> 01:00:48.320
I I I I I really do, because you know, you take a two-hour delay when y'all go into work, and you know, your schedule's just all out of whack.
01:00:48.400 --> 01:00:51.199
When you you've been waiting for this, not making up excuses.
01:00:51.679 --> 01:00:52.239
That's an excuse.
01:00:52.400 --> 01:00:53.440
That's an excuse.
01:00:53.840 --> 01:00:54.719
That's an excuse.
01:00:55.119 --> 01:00:55.679
I promise.
01:00:55.840 --> 01:01:15.599
I promise I'm not doing that, but when you go out there and you warm and you're warming up and it's 30 minutes till kickoff, and then you know, you get you're all warmed up and everything, and then oh no, you've got to wait two more hours, but then all the focus comes off, and you're back to square one and and and you know, and all that stuff.
01:01:15.920 --> 01:01:17.199
No, I'm not making up excuses.
01:01:17.440 --> 01:01:23.440
It's just those sunbelt teams like that, they're gonna give you your best shot anytime.
01:01:23.840 --> 01:01:27.039
I mean, they are they're you're gonna get their best shot anytime.
01:01:27.920 --> 01:01:30.800
Um you know, I I always hate playing them.
01:01:30.960 --> 01:01:39.039
I would rather play um Georgia than I would any of that because I mean you're just gonna get the those are the ones that can sneak up and beat you.
01:01:39.199 --> 01:01:50.880
Uh I mean, and when you're not when you walk in there, hey, we're supposed to win by you know, I know Clemson's supposed to blow all these teams out and all that stuff, and it may not look good, but you know, it it it it is what it is.
01:01:51.199 --> 01:01:59.199
Clemson's a young team, and I'm gonna tell you right now, this this this new quarterback that they've got, he is the he's the real deal.
01:01:59.360 --> 01:02:04.320
I mean, he blew everybody out in the quarterback competition in Florida.
01:02:04.480 --> 01:02:05.440
He's from Arizona.
01:02:05.599 --> 01:02:07.360
I mean, he's also a key sport athlete.
01:02:07.519 --> 01:02:11.039
He'll be playing baseball for Clemson too, um, in center field.
01:02:11.199 --> 01:02:19.440
So um if if I I I'm not sure if you'll be able to do that in college like you could in high school, you'll probably he'll probably end up having to pick one or the other.
01:02:19.760 --> 01:02:20.719
That's what he's usually doing.
01:02:22.320 --> 01:02:24.719
He's a lot better at baseball than he is football.
01:02:24.880 --> 01:02:25.119
Oh, really?
01:02:25.360 --> 01:02:28.719
James Clemson done it at Florida State, so we'll we'll we'll see.
01:02:28.880 --> 01:02:32.960
Kyle Parker done it at Clemson, but he ended up playing um football.
01:02:33.119 --> 01:02:34.159
So we'll see.
01:02:34.559 --> 01:02:36.000
That's why you play the game.
01:02:36.159 --> 01:02:37.199
So we'll see.
01:02:37.280 --> 01:02:38.880
Just you gotta take it one game at a time.
01:02:39.039 --> 01:02:39.840
You can't look ahead.
01:02:40.159 --> 01:02:41.760
So you're still being patient.
01:02:42.480 --> 01:02:44.559
Yeah, I I'm I I'm still being patient.
01:02:44.719 --> 01:02:48.800
I trust Dabo, because I'm gonna tell you right now, and you heard it on these airways.
01:02:49.039 --> 01:02:54.960
If Clemson University gets rid of Dabo Sweeney, I'll never pull for Clemson in football again.
01:02:55.119 --> 01:02:55.920
I never will.
01:02:56.320 --> 01:02:59.199
Because who are you gonna go get to run that program?
01:02:59.519 --> 01:03:04.639
Don't don't tell me Tony Elliott, because Dabo Sweeney made Tony Elliott as good as he is.
01:03:04.960 --> 01:03:06.719
Don't tell me Kirby Smart.
01:03:06.800 --> 01:03:09.039
I don't want Kirby Smart coming to run my program.
01:03:09.360 --> 01:03:11.920
You know, I don't want none of these crooks coming to run my program.
01:03:12.079 --> 01:03:12.880
That's what they are.
01:03:13.360 --> 01:03:14.880
There's discipline at Clemson.
01:03:15.199 --> 01:03:18.079
You don't hear about these guys, okay.
01:03:18.159 --> 01:03:20.800
You hear you heard about Vic Burley getting suspended.
01:03:21.199 --> 01:03:22.639
Debo suspended him.
01:03:22.960 --> 01:03:27.920
Debo made him work for his part, but you don't hear him about going to jail and getting pulled over.
01:03:28.079 --> 01:03:34.079
You don't hear coming from South Carolina, Shane Beamer and Daibo Sweeney are both discipline coaches.
01:03:34.239 --> 01:03:38.239
I don't want no crook coming here running the Clemson program, but you heard it on these airways.
01:03:38.400 --> 01:03:42.000
I'll never pull for Clemson again if they get rid of Daibo Sweeney.
01:03:42.159 --> 01:03:49.199
Daibo Sweeney made Clemson football what it is today, and they can't people can say that all they want to about the portal and this and that.
01:03:49.280 --> 01:03:55.039
Yeah, maybe he should use a little bit more, but you're seeing what it can do to you with the Luke Farrelli situation.
01:03:55.199 --> 01:04:00.320
That's probably why Daibo stays away from it, because it's nothing but a batting game now.
01:04:00.559 --> 01:04:01.840
Nothing but a batting game.
01:04:02.559 --> 01:04:03.039
That's all it is.
01:04:03.440 --> 01:04:11.360
But it is what it is, it is what it is, and you've got to use the tools that's there, or they're gonna go against you.
01:04:11.840 --> 01:04:17.119
Well, well, that is that that is true, but you've got to have the money.
01:04:17.280 --> 01:04:26.719
That's like if I'm making a certain amount at my job, and another job comes and offers me more money.
01:04:27.119 --> 01:04:29.119
Do you think I'm gonna stay where I'm at?
01:04:29.199 --> 01:04:30.639
Or am I gonna do what's best for me?
01:04:30.719 --> 01:04:31.039
And my family.
01:04:31.199 --> 01:04:32.880
I'm gonna do what's best for me and my family.
01:04:33.119 --> 01:04:35.760
Luke Pirelli, we can agree to disagree.
01:04:35.920 --> 01:04:39.760
I've disagreed with people over this the entire year.
01:04:40.000 --> 01:04:43.280
Luke Pirelli was in classes.
01:04:43.519 --> 01:04:48.400
He was at practice, he had practice twice with the team for two weeks.
01:04:48.639 --> 01:04:55.599
He was on the team, was in classes, and he goes in case of him.
01:04:56.159 --> 01:04:58.559
What about what's it gonna cost to buy you out?
01:04:58.639 --> 01:04:59.760
It's not the kids' fault.
01:05:00.000 --> 01:05:01.199
He's gonna go after the money.
01:05:01.280 --> 01:05:02.960
He's 17, 18 years old.
01:05:03.280 --> 01:05:04.960
I understand you've got us before.
01:05:05.519 --> 01:05:06.000
I understand that.
01:05:06.239 --> 01:05:08.239
And he did use it a little bit this time.
01:05:08.480 --> 01:05:10.559
He did use it a little bit this time.
01:05:10.880 --> 01:05:14.719
But Clinton don't have the money Ohio State has.
01:05:18.559 --> 01:05:22.400
I mean, you know, they just can't compete with these high market players.
01:05:23.119 --> 01:05:23.920
They can't.
01:05:24.559 --> 01:05:33.599
They can't because what happens is okay, you bring in a$10 million quarterback, then you may lose your two-star receiver somewhere.
01:05:33.920 --> 01:05:36.719
Then the quarter, then the quarterback has nobody to bring to.
01:05:37.519 --> 01:05:43.599
I would rather have a rookie quarterback and bring it wrestling with DJ Moore.
01:05:43.920 --> 01:05:54.400
Then Larry Manson who's done the same thing to do, who was found to do found a new contract, mainly come a collar, and he left Dutch and went to my hand.
01:05:54.800 --> 01:05:57.679
Because he's he he he chased the bag.
01:05:57.840 --> 01:05:59.840
He chased the bag, and I understand you guys.
01:06:15.360 --> 01:06:17.760
I agree that I don't think Dabo needs to go.
01:06:18.079 --> 01:06:18.960
I totally agree.
01:06:19.039 --> 01:06:22.719
And I agree with the fact that you said Dabo has made that program.
01:06:22.800 --> 01:06:25.440
And I 100% agree with you on that as well.
01:06:25.679 --> 01:06:29.679
I don't necessarily say that I'm never gonna pull for them again.
01:06:29.920 --> 01:06:40.320
Um and I guess my husband's much more um knowledgeable about what he's done and what he hasn't done and the the money and the portal and all this.
01:06:40.559 --> 01:06:56.880
But I do know that, you know, as as you move through society, if you don't keep up with what is happening, you don't keep up with technology, whether it be in education, whether it be in sports or anywhere, that you're gonna fall behind no matter what.
01:06:57.440 --> 01:06:57.920
I agree.
01:06:58.239 --> 01:07:00.400
I agree a hundred percent, and that's what's happening.
01:07:01.039 --> 01:07:01.519
I agree.
01:08:08.559 --> 01:08:12.320
It's just as as Holly was saying, and you're alluding to, is it's a different game.
01:08:12.400 --> 01:08:15.119
It's you're watching a program now, not a college.
01:08:15.519 --> 01:08:17.600
It's like they're not loyal to the colleges anymore.
01:08:17.760 --> 01:08:19.760
They're the players are on different teams every year.
01:08:20.000 --> 01:08:20.800
You don't know who they are.
01:08:20.880 --> 01:08:24.079
They're just a bunch of all-star teams to these big teams with the money.
01:08:24.479 --> 01:08:28.159
You don't recognize the that's what made it so cool in college.
01:08:28.479 --> 01:08:29.520
But you don't have a choice now.
01:08:29.920 --> 01:08:30.720
But that's the way it is.
01:08:30.800 --> 01:08:31.520
Yeah, that's terrible.
01:08:31.840 --> 01:08:32.960
And they don't have any rules.
01:08:33.199 --> 01:08:34.159
There's no rules for all this.
01:08:34.720 --> 01:08:37.439
Same thing with AI in our facilities and our schools.
01:08:37.760 --> 01:08:41.920
We don't have a choice, so we've got to figure the way to utilize it, a way to train people.
01:08:42.079 --> 01:08:44.000
And he and Zach, you're exactly right.
01:08:44.159 --> 01:08:47.680
I mean, our our high school students are leaving for a quarter more an hour.
01:08:47.920 --> 01:08:49.600
You know, I mean, they're up and going.
01:08:49.840 --> 01:08:52.800
Where, you know, 15, 20 years ago that didn't happen.
01:08:53.039 --> 01:08:59.199
And now we've got football, college football leaving for you know, several thousand dollars or whatever.
01:09:00.159 --> 01:09:04.000
Or a million different, you know, uh I mean, we work for money.
01:09:04.399 --> 01:09:10.079
I mean it's a hate to say that, but it's it's in the high school game.
01:09:10.560 --> 01:09:16.720
I mean, there was a ring player to remember all their names.
01:10:44.319 --> 01:10:45.359
What do you think I'm gonna get?
01:10:47.039 --> 01:10:48.479
You think I'm gonna go play for Oregon?
01:10:48.880 --> 01:10:50.560
I'm gonna go for Oregon.
01:10:52.239 --> 01:10:55.439
So so everybody's gotta be on the same page with this.
01:10:55.600 --> 01:11:00.880
Everybody's gotta keep up with technology, keep up with what's going on, because if not, you're gonna be behind.
01:11:00.960 --> 01:11:03.680
And you're right, Zach, it's not it's never gonna be what it was.
01:11:03.760 --> 01:11:05.520
It's never gonna be that way.
01:11:06.319 --> 01:11:15.760
No, I mean, you know, I'll I'll pull for women, and I know I'll probably I I was I was just saying, back it up, back it up.
01:11:16.479 --> 01:11:18.479
Clinton football, clear football.
01:11:18.560 --> 01:11:23.119
I just can't imagine football without neighbor's wing.
01:11:23.439 --> 01:11:28.640
I'm just saying, but you just listed the reasons why if they're coming to kids with money, they're gonna leave.
01:11:28.720 --> 01:11:30.399
It doesn't have anything really to do with him.
01:11:30.720 --> 01:11:33.760
I mean, you got you got cool bars that play for clinics.
01:11:34.000 --> 01:11:34.239
You know what?
01:11:36.000 --> 01:11:36.479
Georgia.
01:11:36.880 --> 01:11:39.039
Why would he leave that swinging program?
01:11:39.600 --> 01:11:41.439
You gotta play for somebody like Kirby Smart.
01:11:43.199 --> 01:11:44.000
That's exactly it.
01:11:53.199 --> 01:11:56.720
I'm sorry, I'd rather play for that Kirby Smart.
01:11:58.640 --> 01:12:06.560
Well, you know, even the kid you were talking about, like the whole allness thing, and even with him, he was loyal to a point.
01:12:06.720 --> 01:12:08.479
He didn't take the first offer.
01:12:09.359 --> 01:12:13.439
He was gonna stay, and then they upped the offer, and he went.
01:12:14.479 --> 01:12:17.279
So you know, he had at least a little loyal.
01:12:17.680 --> 01:12:19.439
I was impressed at the beginning of the saga.
01:12:19.600 --> 01:12:21.279
I was like, wow, he's gonna stay.
01:12:21.520 --> 01:12:24.960
And then they like doubled the offer, and he was out of there.
01:12:25.199 --> 01:12:29.680
So, but anyway, we're uh we could talk about this for a long time, and we have already.
01:12:29.920 --> 01:12:33.520
Uh but what what else you got going on before we leave?
01:12:34.000 --> 01:12:35.520
Oh well, re-employee.
01:12:35.840 --> 01:12:36.880
Oh, re-employee.
01:12:39.920 --> 01:13:47.359
And um, we're gonna be gotta be gotta be able to do it.
01:13:58.319 --> 01:14:00.640
You got wrestling coming November 9th.
01:14:02.880 --> 01:14:03.760
Do you have tickets yet?
01:14:04.640 --> 01:14:05.760
You gotta have tickets.
01:14:06.239 --> 01:14:10.560
Yeah, that's another controversy we could talk about is how they've jacked up all those tickets.
01:14:13.439 --> 01:14:14.079
But anyway.
01:14:14.239 --> 01:14:16.159
Alright, well, we will be back next week.
01:14:16.399 --> 01:14:18.239
So you uh plan on being here.
01:14:18.479 --> 01:14:19.600
And who's on next week, Mr.
01:14:19.760 --> 01:14:20.000
Brady?
01:14:20.239 --> 01:14:21.199
Who is on next week?
01:14:21.600 --> 01:14:23.760
Uh next week is Ag Week.
01:14:24.720 --> 01:14:29.359
We have uh Catherine Garrison, we have Cody Simpson, and we have Trey Harris.
01:14:29.760 --> 01:14:30.800
Okay, yeah, awesome.
01:14:31.199 --> 01:14:32.319
So big week next week.
01:14:32.399 --> 01:14:34.640
So uh Zach, we will talk to you then.
01:14:35.439 --> 01:14:36.800
All right, that sounds good, y'all.
01:14:36.880 --> 01:14:37.279
Have a good week.
01:14:37.840 --> 01:14:38.319
You too.
01:14:38.560 --> 01:14:40.479
And uh what a great way to end it, honey.
01:14:40.640 --> 01:14:40.880
That was great.
01:14:41.439 --> 01:14:42.560
You're learning this stuff.
01:14:43.520 --> 01:14:44.880
After seven seasons.
01:14:45.760 --> 01:14:47.439
I know how to do a good segue.
01:14:47.680 --> 01:14:49.359
But uh thanks again to uh Dr.
01:14:49.520 --> 01:14:51.920
Seth Young for joining us today.
01:14:52.079 --> 01:14:52.800
He's he's great.
01:14:53.199 --> 01:14:56.319
He is, he's um he's great to talk to, he's a great person.
01:14:56.560 --> 01:15:00.159
Uh you can see him all over the place because he's doing all these videos everywhere.
01:15:00.319 --> 01:15:03.520
I can't open up Facebook or Instagram without seeing his face nowadays.
01:15:03.840 --> 01:15:05.439
But he's kinda awesome, isn't it?
01:15:05.680 --> 01:15:06.399
He's doing a great job.
01:15:06.960 --> 01:15:09.439
And uh Jen's really helping him with that too.
01:15:09.680 --> 01:15:10.560
