Tanner and Friends celebrated National Make a Dog’s Day with plans to spoil Lucy, Tanner’s black lab, with a new toy, even if she destroys it in seconds. Bull Nation was invited to share pet photos for the Real House Pets of the PNW, while the morning roll call brought family updates, weekend countdowns, and congratulations to Chris from Gig Harbor as he and his wife prepare to welcome a baby.
The show discussed a possible early end to the Ship Canal Bridge lane closure, an unconfirmed McRib return, and fan speculation about another Post Malone and Morgan Wallen collaboration. Tanner also revisited the cursive debate after a teacher shared a student’s description of handwriting as “founding father font.” Listeners weighed whether cursive remains a useful skill or belongs in the past.
Good vibes included a free weekend with no obligations, a baby sleeping six hours straight, and an older dog rediscovering his playful side. Tanner shared the story of two women whose friendship at a Georgia gas station led to an adoption and an extended family, with both the adoptive mother and birth mother remaining part of baby Nolan’s life.
Rachel from Tacoma won Zach Bryan tickets in Minute to Win It, but the round also led to an on air geography correction. Tanner mistakenly rejected her King County answer for Auburn, and Seth the IT MVP stepped in afterward as listeners filled the text line with corrections. Tanner owned the mistake and apologized to Auburn.
A Halloween debate asked whether anyone can be too old to trick or treat. Some listeners wanted to save the candy for younger children, but Tanner and many callers argued that teenagers choosing costumes and candy should be allowed to enjoy childhood a little longer. One parent revealed that her height lets her blend right in with the kids while trick or treating in costume.
The Truth Jar revealed Danielle’s childhood dream of becoming an NFL kicker, a goal she insisted might still be on the table. Tanner immediately started planning a field goal challenge, complete with practice, a possible wager, and an Eye of the Tiger training montage. Danielle was willing to put football loyalties aside if it meant getting her shot.
Headline in a Haystack featured a drone delivering chicken nuggets, fries, dipping sauce, and alcohol to an inmate at a Canadian correctional facility. The bizarre delivery kept Kelly from Puyallup’s winning streak alive at six, while Danielle wondered how anyone gives directions to the correct cell window.
The mailbox segment covered Tanner’s Puyallup High School roots, tickets for the Antoine Tyler show, and Claire’s trip to Memphis to prepare for St. Jude fundraising. It also revived the mystery of the unopened box in Tanner’s attic. Danielle volunteered to investigate, but Tanner made one condition clear: he does not want to be home when that box gets opened.
