286 - Come Over

WEBVTT
00:06.560 --> 00:08.045
[SPEAKER_01]: Consequence Podcast Network
00:31.391 --> 00:45.834
[SPEAKER_01]: Bora, hey, iconic army, Bora, hey, so now that we've gone to the concert, it has been so fun to wake up every morning and see which surprise songs BTS did at each night of the concert after us.
00:45.914 --> 00:46.054
[SPEAKER_01]: So
00:47.375 --> 01:09.563
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I just had to say like Mexican Army won, first of all, before they even did a show there, they met at the Presidential Palace with Mexico's President Claudia Shai-bomb, and with only five hours notice that BTS were going to appear on the balcony, that Plaza was packed with over 500,000 fans.
01:11.844 --> 01:15.188
[SPEAKER_01]: That's insane iconic like they're influence.
01:15.288 --> 01:27.681
[SPEAKER_01]: I just with that short of notice the plaza being packed out like that They're they're singing to BTS the songs from Auditong from the Plaza like just incredible I have choes right now talking about it.
01:27.761 --> 01:34.348
[SPEAKER_01]: It's so cool that they did that that they met with the president And then they had three incredible shows there first of all
01:35.028 --> 01:45.415
[SPEAKER_01]: They did boy and love and so what Bethany, I have to say I was so jealous about so why it was to imagine if we were at that concert Imagine if being out.
01:45.435 --> 01:46.415
[SPEAKER_02]: We were like it's for us.
01:46.515 --> 01:47.176
[SPEAKER_02]: It's for us here.
01:47.196 --> 01:47.656
[SPEAKER_02]: They know it.
01:47.696 --> 02:00.544
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because we have such a history without song together as friends and Then like the next day, we are bulletproof part two thrown it back to fucking debut and then they did just one day.
02:00.564 --> 02:03.406
[SPEAKER_01]: I like iconic doing just one day
02:04.006 --> 02:14.558
[SPEAKER_02]: Just we're out of the way and doing like the choreo and yeah, yeah, I probably put a cry to that because I mean truly when was the last time they performed that song?
02:15.259 --> 02:24.630
[SPEAKER_01]: Literally and honestly you we were saying before this tour we were like before getting tickets for the tour you can't buy tickets if you don't know the lyrics to just one day like
02:25.130 --> 02:34.135
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like every army can sing this full song and to be there and to listen to it would have just been incredible.
02:34.696 --> 02:38.278
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, and then of course, of course, they had to do airplane part two.
02:39.238 --> 02:45.522
[SPEAKER_02]: Airplane part two with El Mariachi in the lyrics, like very fitting to do that in Mexico, of course.
02:45.602 --> 02:46.342
[SPEAKER_02]: Perfection.
02:46.622 --> 02:47.023
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
02:48.223 --> 02:56.249
[SPEAKER_01]: And I also have to say I'm so proud of Teyang because during his ending speeches, he spoke completely in Spanish.
02:56.309 --> 02:58.630
[SPEAKER_01]: He spoke incredibly in Spanish.
02:59.251 --> 03:06.215
[SPEAKER_01]: He, I would do have to say like he wasn't even looking at the teleprompter on the stage when he was giving his final speech.
03:06.295 --> 03:08.577
[SPEAKER_01]: He just had memorized it and learned it well enough.
03:08.997 --> 03:13.660
[SPEAKER_01]: He spoke a little bit on the balcony at the presidential palace also to armies in Spanish.
03:13.700 --> 03:16.102
[SPEAKER_01]: He was reading off his office's phone at that time,
03:16.842 --> 03:32.434
[SPEAKER_01]: great like incredible pronunciation and incredible like sentences like I was so excited and it made me so happy that like he was like overgoing back to Mexico for the first time since like 2017 let me learn Spanish so I can talk to them.
03:32.894 --> 03:33.914
[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that was so cool.
03:34.114 --> 03:37.316
[SPEAKER_02]: He honestly is a foreign language king.
03:37.336 --> 03:37.836
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
03:38.076 --> 03:44.278
[SPEAKER_02]: We give RM a lot of credit for his English because he is fluent in English and it's such a difficult language.
03:44.798 --> 03:53.982
[SPEAKER_02]: But I feel like Taehyung was like the French and now at the Spanish, like I feel like he's just more open to learning languages.
03:54.062 --> 03:56.823
[SPEAKER_02]: And I feel like they all are open to him, but I feel like Taehyung
03:58.024 --> 04:12.815
[SPEAKER_02]: It just makes sense that he was the one to want to do his speech fully and spanish and I'm just thinking about the Mocho Picante Like he also iconic like that will forever be remembered here.
04:12.916 --> 04:24.465
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he did a great job I also have to talk about how BTS have been performing in Stanford right now and they just did know and they also just did bloodswent years Bethany I know you did dope
04:24.805 --> 04:31.486
[SPEAKER_01]: And don't, you sent me the TikTok to of Jungkook singing with his hood up and his head to back.
04:31.566 --> 04:34.467
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, yeah, that's when tears, but- That's when tears, yeah.
04:34.827 --> 04:38.108
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, and him and Tae Young were doing the choreography towards each other.
04:38.128 --> 04:42.108
[SPEAKER_02]: And you can see Tae Young hand-justoring to Jungkook, like, let's do it together.
04:42.148 --> 04:43.409
[SPEAKER_02]: So together, every one of the chorus heads.
04:43.869 --> 04:46.309
[SPEAKER_02]: And, like, of course, Jungkook caught onto his drift.
04:46.349 --> 04:50.170
[SPEAKER_02]: And, like, they both, at the same time when the chorus heads start doing the choreo together, yeah.
04:50.870 --> 05:07.598
[SPEAKER_01]: I saw also like take hook and gym in doing the no choreography and it was like they just kicked in with muscle memory like just did it you know after all these years I am I'm loving that I don't have to avoid concert spoilers anymore
05:08.318 --> 05:18.626
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just think this is such a cool feature of their tour doing these like two surprise songs to be able to perform some of their classic hits without like getting burned down on them.
05:18.666 --> 05:21.408
[SPEAKER_01]: So I've been living for that this week.
05:21.628 --> 05:23.390
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, me too.
05:23.950 --> 05:28.033
[SPEAKER_02]: I can't wait to see all the other stops and what other songs they I know me too.
05:28.153 --> 05:30.335
[SPEAKER_01]: They've got to have some more good ones coming up here.
05:32.053 --> 05:38.076
[SPEAKER_01]: but we're excited to talk about something else that's concert adjacent this week, which is come over.
05:38.216 --> 05:46.520
[SPEAKER_01]: They're song that's their hidden track on Auditong Deluxe vinyl version that they only perform in concert.
05:46.560 --> 05:49.581
[SPEAKER_01]: So stick with us and we will get into it.
05:50.582 --> 05:50.782
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
05:52.185 --> 05:54.527
[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back, where you're hosts, I'm Kayla.
05:55.387 --> 05:57.569
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm Bethany, and this is Standing BTS.
05:57.609 --> 05:59.810
[SPEAKER_02]: Your favorite informative funeral podcast.
06:00.511 --> 06:02.712
[SPEAKER_02]: All right, today we're going to hang out for about an hour.
06:02.972 --> 06:06.615
[SPEAKER_02]: And like Kayla said, we are going to be talking about come over.
06:06.675 --> 06:20.885
[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to go into just the background of this song, the hidden track, go through its production, the sound of the song, and then we're going to get into the lyrics, and just kind of discuss what this song's meaning is, and what it's saying, and telling us.
06:21.185 --> 06:33.921
[SPEAKER_01]: yes we're so excited to get into it before we do we want to say things iconic so much for being here and for supporting us and if you'd like to support us any more you can consider joining us at patreon.com slash standing BTS.
06:34.822 --> 06:38.307
[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for being here for all of you support and of course for listening.
06:39.608 --> 06:46.750
[SPEAKER_02]: One last thing before we get into it, I just want to say because you guys have been some of you have been listening to us for a real long time.
06:46.810 --> 06:49.710
[SPEAKER_02]: This podcast started back in 2018.
06:50.611 --> 06:57.592
[SPEAKER_02]: And so a lot of time has passed and some of you may have heard us talk about my dog, hazelnut, or hazel.
06:58.172 --> 07:03.494
[SPEAKER_02]: Unfortunately, she passed away just four days ago.
07:03.614 --> 07:04.354
[SPEAKER_02]: It's been really,
07:09.335 --> 07:10.956
[SPEAKER_02]: rich, adventurous life.
07:11.017 --> 07:18.423
[SPEAKER_02]: She was like the silliest little adventure dog, you know, she hiked mountains and I've just surprised everyone who she passed.
07:18.463 --> 07:25.708
[SPEAKER_02]: She's such a sweet loving girl and I feel like anyone who met her, she's a pug, so like anyone who met her just loved her.
07:26.649 --> 07:30.312
[SPEAKER_02]: I can find peace in knowing that she lived a long life.
07:30.612 --> 07:31.513
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a good life.
07:31.793 --> 07:36.777
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I think she lived the life of 13 dogs combined and that, you know, she
07:37.878 --> 07:42.081
[SPEAKER_02]: is at peace now and that we got to be with her and everything.
07:42.141 --> 07:49.626
[SPEAKER_02]: So I just wanted to share that with you guys and some of you have already reached out to me and it's been very kind and all of your words are really helpful.
07:49.706 --> 07:58.352
[SPEAKER_02]: And just reminiscing on all the good memories really makes it a little bit easier to kind of grieve and continue life without her.
07:58.372 --> 08:00.073
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know she'll always be with us.
08:00.173 --> 08:02.475
[SPEAKER_01]: But anyways, a little shout out to Hazelna.
08:02.515 --> 08:03.035
[SPEAKER_01]: We love her.
08:06.357 --> 08:07.398
[SPEAKER_02]: He's on the track.
08:07.578 --> 08:11.040
[SPEAKER_01]: She's her little snorts are all over this podcast.
08:11.060 --> 08:12.140
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, listen for him.
08:12.401 --> 08:13.481
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we'll shout her out.
08:13.541 --> 08:15.362
[SPEAKER_01]: So special place for Diesel.
08:15.823 --> 08:16.723
[SPEAKER_01]: We love her so much.
08:17.544 --> 08:17.784
[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
08:18.004 --> 08:18.204
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
08:19.084 --> 08:19.385
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
08:19.405 --> 08:22.626
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's go ahead and start talking about come over.
08:22.646 --> 08:29.330
[SPEAKER_01]: So like I said, come over is only available on the deluxe vinyl edition of Auditong.
08:29.350 --> 08:31.872
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a little bit of a lost
08:32.352 --> 08:49.446
[SPEAKER_01]: Like hidden track, not only not released with the original CDs, the original vinyls, but now only released on the Deluxe edition and not on any streaming services you can find it like bootlegged on YouTube and that's it and they get taken down and then reposted so.
08:50.126 --> 08:56.775
[SPEAKER_01]: anyone that you'll find it'll be like posted one day ago because the other ones you know already got taken down.
08:56.835 --> 09:00.079
[SPEAKER_01]: But there are some good quality ones out there if you're still hunting.
09:00.099 --> 09:07.268
[SPEAKER_01]: This song being on the set list going into the concert was the only thing that I was certain about like we didn't have any.
09:07.808 --> 09:29.813
[SPEAKER_01]: Spoilers, we didn't know what the settlers was gonna be, but I just felt like it had to be performed there because you know I just knew like why would they make it this hidden track and it's such an iconic incredible song So I feel like it's a concert goer special gift since the track is so hard to find and so hard to come by that If you do go to the Auditong World Tour you get to hear this song
09:30.413 --> 09:51.432
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think it's kind of crazy that you expected this song to be at the concert because I've really didn't like it was kind of a surprise to me But I think you just you just knew in your heart and with you gaysane, it's like it's a concert song and you're like, yeah It's a concert song, man Honestly, I've just been even more obsessed with it since
09:52.112 --> 09:59.074
[SPEAKER_01]: our concert in Tampa and since we weren't able to cover it on the album reviews, we just knew that it needed its own time to shine here.
09:59.154 --> 10:01.314
[SPEAKER_01]: So, hence a whole episode over it.
10:01.334 --> 10:04.875
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's not your typical hidden track.
10:04.895 --> 10:06.135
[SPEAKER_02]: It really isn't.
10:06.335 --> 10:13.737
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so Junki said that quote, this is a song that I wrote on the first day I arrived in America.
10:14.797 --> 10:16.738
[SPEAKER_02]: It's still an unfamiliar one,
10:21.999 --> 10:34.907
[SPEAKER_02]: And truly, I getting into the lyrics here, I feel like this doesn't lot about you and Ghi having written the song when he first stepped for an America to create Auditong and work on this album.
10:34.967 --> 10:37.909
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, this is something that I would imagine was fresh on his mind.
10:38.509 --> 10:44.032
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he had already been pre-meditating on it, like on the flight over, like, even months before.
10:44.553 --> 10:45.713
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, he had this in mind.
10:45.793 --> 10:49.416
[SPEAKER_02]: And so, I feel like this doesn't lot in terms of the meaning of this song.
10:50.136 --> 10:53.217
[SPEAKER_02]: We keep asking why, this song is so good.
10:53.257 --> 11:01.678
[SPEAKER_02]: We keep asking why is it not included on the album because with it being a hidden track, it's just like, too good to be a hidden track.
11:01.698 --> 11:08.820
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I would imagine when they were going through the discography, how did they land on this one not making the album, right?
11:09.120 --> 11:10.600
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, what's it the runner up?
11:11.040 --> 11:15.181
[SPEAKER_02]: And they just liked all the other songs more or what?
11:15.261 --> 11:18.962
[SPEAKER_02]: But why put it as a hidden track instead of leaving it for later?
11:19.542 --> 11:21.784
[SPEAKER_01]: and it could have just been a 15th track.
11:21.804 --> 11:23.726
[SPEAKER_01]: It could have fit in somewhere.
11:23.766 --> 11:33.034
[SPEAKER_01]: Like it could go like after normal, you know, like it would fit there in that kind of section that's a little bit more rocky and, you know, very vocal heavy.
11:33.054 --> 11:42.983
[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, and Yungi, I can't find the clipper the quote now, but I had seen him talking about like I kept asking why it wasn't included on the album.
11:43.403 --> 11:51.969
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're asking Jungi's asking and I have a personal head cannon as to why and this is obviously just pure conjecture.
11:52.490 --> 12:06.540
[SPEAKER_01]: But I feel like there's too much power in a song that would have a produced by Shoga tag at the end of it, which the song most definitely would, you know, come over parentheses, produce by Shoga.
12:07.301 --> 12:21.741
[SPEAKER_01]: This being BTS's first major album in six years and then wanting to like promote the specific songs that I chose like Body to body and 2.0 and who'll again along with swim obviously?
12:22.842 --> 12:41.135
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe they were worried that a song that was labeled produced by sugar with all these other names on this album that army We are known to go so hard in the paint for BTS that we would stream this song above all the other songs And I mean, I bet if they put this song on streaming services right now That's exactly what would happen.
12:41.175 --> 12:47.599
[SPEAKER_01]: It would go number one on like billboard hot 200 so That's what I think I kind of
12:48.820 --> 12:54.541
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I hope that's not the case of why it wasn't, but I'm just trying to make sense of why it wouldn't be the answer.
12:54.561 --> 12:58.242
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, yeah, I can follow you with it.
12:58.262 --> 13:03.763
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I see this is their first OT7 album after all of the solo work.
13:04.043 --> 13:04.303
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
13:04.663 --> 13:06.884
[SPEAKER_02]: All of the songs are OT7.
13:06.904 --> 13:11.125
[SPEAKER_02]: There's not even a rap line song, so maybe just the produced by Sugarwood.
13:13.325 --> 13:19.606
[SPEAKER_02]: Somehow, not aligned with Auditong being all of them and maybe giving him a little bit more credit.
13:19.706 --> 13:21.986
[SPEAKER_02]: I could see that a little bit.
13:22.047 --> 13:22.347
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
13:22.747 --> 13:34.069
[SPEAKER_02]: And I will say at the concert, like, Nom Jr. and I'm pretty sure said, like, produce by Shaga, like, before the song or, like, after the song, like, they made sure to, like, really credit him at the concert.
13:34.129 --> 13:38.269
[SPEAKER_02]: So that makes me believe your head can't in a little bit more that his members were even, like,
13:43.030 --> 13:47.132
[SPEAKER_02]: Another reason that maybe it just didn't fit with Auditong.
13:47.192 --> 13:49.713
[SPEAKER_02]: I know that you said that maybe you could have gone after normal.
13:50.714 --> 14:01.779
[SPEAKER_02]: It really, to me, the song kind of lies with, it's not like a so-wet song, but like the build of this song has so much energy to it and a motion to it that I just feel that like
14:03.840 --> 14:06.922
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just a little nostalgic and how it comes across.
14:07.002 --> 14:13.766
[SPEAKER_02]: Like maybe it wasn't really the style of Auditong, which is this 2.0, a little bit more experimental.
14:14.107 --> 14:23.352
[SPEAKER_02]: Things we've never heard from them before, while still being kind of like orange and sound as well, like this hip-hop feel, but like this song just feels more nostalgic.
14:23.372 --> 14:27.255
[SPEAKER_02]: Like this feels like it could have been on like, like a love yourself album.
14:27.275 --> 14:30.357
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like this could be on like the love yourself tier or something.
14:30.817 --> 14:39.682
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I agree with you that it does have that like 2018 to 2020 kind of BTS sound.
14:40.302 --> 14:40.642
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
14:41.203 --> 14:42.203
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we love it, though.
14:42.383 --> 14:43.544
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, yes, of course.
14:43.744 --> 14:46.426
[SPEAKER_02]: Ah, like inject it in my veins, right?
14:47.046 --> 14:49.808
[SPEAKER_02]: It is, it is so nostalgic feeling.
14:49.928 --> 14:54.910
[SPEAKER_02]: It has the very similar formatting and organization to a lot of those songs that we just mentioned.
14:54.950 --> 14:57.272
[SPEAKER_02]: It just kind of lies and suit with those older tracks.
14:58.032 --> 15:05.656
[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's what we can kind of appreciate it for that, like it feels a little bit more comfortable and familiar, yet being a completely new song for them.
15:06.116 --> 15:21.704
[SPEAKER_01]: But I agree with you, maybe they felt like it doesn't fit on what the goal or the purpose of Auditong as an album is because of that completely 100% OT7 that they didn't want to set any one member.
15:22.284 --> 15:48.026
[SPEAKER_01]: apart in any way but also the overall sonic vibe of the song I agree with you it does feel a little bit more like six years ago BTS dot BTS 2.0 so yeah yeah well we'll keep asking though we want to know we want it on stream in service yes I have to talk more about it than the room let's go ahead and talk about the overall production of come over
15:48.626 --> 16:04.414
[SPEAKER_01]: So, yes, of course, Chuga produced this, but also along with circuit and ammo, handful of writers on this song Henry Walter, Joshua Coleman, Chuga himself, Jacob Casher, Hindland, Gregory Alde, we see Alde here again, RM and Jay Hope.
16:04.814 --> 16:13.159
[SPEAKER_01]: So it seems like just seeing the three rappers here that they did write their own verses, which when they are delivering their verses, it feels like they wrote their own verses.
16:14.039 --> 16:15.060
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, this was
16:15.500 --> 16:26.115
[SPEAKER_01]: We're introduced mainly by Shogo who's also credited with playing the synthesizers, the bass, the guitar, the drums, and the programming of the song, and damn he hit those synths hard!
16:27.183 --> 16:29.044
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he did and the bass.
16:29.084 --> 16:29.924
[SPEAKER_02]: You kidding me.
16:30.024 --> 16:30.505
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
16:30.525 --> 16:33.286
[SPEAKER_02]: He's credited playing the bass shit.
16:33.826 --> 16:34.987
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we saw him.
16:35.067 --> 16:36.407
[SPEAKER_01]: We saw him in that documentary.
16:36.447 --> 16:38.108
[SPEAKER_01]: He was like on the guitar the whole time.
16:38.788 --> 16:39.489
[SPEAKER_01]: That is hot.
16:39.669 --> 16:40.369
[SPEAKER_01]: That is hot.
16:40.609 --> 16:46.352
[SPEAKER_01]: Menungi and Minjunus like he is such an instrumental music genius.
16:47.032 --> 16:53.456
[SPEAKER_01]: The vibe of this song, Yugi himself described it as a stadium anthem, and I just think that's such a perfect description.
16:53.956 --> 17:00.120
[SPEAKER_01]: I think he wrote it in mind of like, I want this song, I want this to be on our tour.
17:00.801 --> 17:03.042
[SPEAKER_01]: It feels like it needs to be performed live.
17:03.282 --> 17:07.445
[SPEAKER_01]: Each of the members, they have a slight echo effect on their vocals.
17:07.825 --> 17:10.670
[SPEAKER_01]: which makes it feel like it's being echoed around a stadium.
17:11.150 --> 17:18.322
[SPEAKER_01]: There's also claps within the beat that feels like the audience clapping along with the song that add to the stadium vibe as well.
17:19.158 --> 17:41.929
[SPEAKER_02]: yeah absolutely I love the vocal effect that echo effect on the vocals for sure it is meant to be in a stadium absolutely yeah there's also this super strong deep bass the strumming of this bass you hear it mostly like right before the verses before the rap line delivery and it's just so
17:46.751 --> 18:07.724
[SPEAKER_02]: Haunting in its own way, you know, like sugar also has these, like, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, mm
18:08.965 --> 18:10.246
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just so deep.
18:10.286 --> 18:11.046
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like so good.
18:11.126 --> 18:13.267
[SPEAKER_02]: It's like an additional base with his voice.
18:13.307 --> 18:33.515
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's so good It's using like his own humming as a part of the production, which I love When artists do that when they use their vocals as a production feature of the song Just to just just go on the the journey with me of visualizing Jungi sitting in the studio like Lips and mouth really close to the mic
18:34.335 --> 18:35.076
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm okay.
18:35.096 --> 18:35.716
[SPEAKER_02]: I close.
18:35.756 --> 18:43.682
[SPEAKER_01]: He's holding the guitar that he's strumming and that's when he's like Yeah, like that's hot as hell.
18:43.842 --> 18:55.091
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean just like oh, I just I Love that I am glad you took a ser because I would love to see that in a documentary Please I could just visualize it right now because that actually happened
18:57.192 --> 19:10.382
[SPEAKER_01]: Man like I said he's he did the synths and I fucking love the synths in this song like in the chorus It's especially in the post chorus when they come through even more and they just like blast off It's just ethereal.
19:10.622 --> 19:13.924
[SPEAKER_01]: It makes me feel like I'm levitating like literally
19:15.085 --> 19:17.727
[SPEAKER_01]: Like arms back head, like I'm flying, man.
19:18.047 --> 19:24.110
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it is absolutely that meme where you like just like crank up the bottom of the way and you just like ascend.
19:24.170 --> 19:27.172
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it's the SpongeBob with the headphones ascending.
19:27.272 --> 19:28.693
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
19:29.454 --> 19:31.695
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the dolphins jumping over the water.
19:31.735 --> 19:33.116
[SPEAKER_01]: The dolphins are Frank Dolphins.
19:35.397 --> 19:38.659
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, that is what these sunset are getting, absolutely.
19:38.739 --> 19:48.543
[SPEAKER_02]: And the vocal line really contributes to it too, because their vocals are so powerful and pleading, like we are just absolutely obsessed with the vocal line delivery.
19:48.603 --> 19:55.046
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, as good as the verses are, the chorus and pre-chorus really truly make the song what it is.
19:55.066 --> 20:02.050
[SPEAKER_02]: And like, I would say this chorus and pre-chorus is what is giving the most, like, love yourself, era, can be T.S.
20:03.130 --> 20:10.616
[SPEAKER_01]: but also like, it kind of makes me think of some of their even older like the H-Rama H era type of stuff, you know?
20:11.077 --> 20:21.005
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, like the tone of the vocals, the emotion that comes through is a little bit of like a, a hold me tight or love is not over of like, you know, let me just hear it.
20:21.025 --> 20:22.246
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm just leaning.
20:22.346 --> 20:26.430
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, just leaning it all out here this raw emotion.
20:26.450 --> 20:26.550
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
20:28.091 --> 20:50.285
[SPEAKER_01]: and then like kind of on the opposite side of these beautiful locals are those the rap verses that are very pointed and also poignant like there is a bit of a sadness or sometimes like regret or anger or you know just like a little bit of hope you know that they're working through this confusion but all of them have this very pointed deliberate
20:56.008 --> 20:56.809
[SPEAKER_02]: or the struggle.
20:57.149 --> 21:02.952
[SPEAKER_02]: Like their voices are definitely like showing the heartache, the struggle, the challenges.
21:03.793 --> 21:13.799
[SPEAKER_02]: And the vocal line is very much like the hopeful component of like or like the pleading, you know, like despite the challenges, you know, the pleading out to kind of work through it.
21:13.839 --> 21:15.320
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're not ready to give up.
21:15.840 --> 21:22.922
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like we said, this is something that's all trick about the song and how it sounds, but it also is very hopeful.
21:23.782 --> 21:26.782
[SPEAKER_02]: The sense make me a little excited.
21:26.802 --> 21:29.263
[SPEAKER_02]: The energy kind of really brings you up.
21:29.343 --> 21:36.805
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's not quite like a party-fest pumping song, but there's an energy to it that makes you just a little excited.
21:37.265 --> 21:37.525
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
21:39.066 --> 21:54.284
[SPEAKER_02]: Definitely can tell that the song is produced by Sugar with how complex and just the various levels and sections of the song like we're saying like his voice being used as like an additional instrumental layering of the production.
21:55.085 --> 21:58.128
[SPEAKER_02]: Just the build with the sense and the bass and the guitar like it.
21:58.228 --> 21:59.549
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just so genius.
21:59.609 --> 22:13.459
[SPEAKER_02]: It's man genius Yeah, and It's made us think of a lot of his other well-known produced songs like stale live autumn leaves It's just that level of excellent production going top tier top tier.
22:13.479 --> 22:21.024
[SPEAKER_01]: We're so lucky to have young gay and BTS We are I mean absolutely to live at the same time as him is just
22:21.885 --> 22:30.237
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, to know him right now, you know, in his prime, like that's crazy and that he's like our age to all the time.
22:30.277 --> 22:37.487
[SPEAKER_01]: We're like content areas with these like incredibly talented men that just blow us away all the time with their music.
22:37.747 --> 22:38.007
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
22:38.648 --> 22:44.535
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's talk about the lyrics here for Come Over and we're doing something slightly different.
22:44.555 --> 22:46.277
[SPEAKER_01]: We're kind of going a little bit out of order.
22:46.297 --> 22:48.439
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going in the order of the rap verses.
22:48.900 --> 22:54.906
[SPEAKER_01]: And then we will talk about the chorus or the post chorus last to kind of wrap it all up.
22:55.327 --> 22:59.552
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to mention though that the song originally begins with the chorus.
23:00.032 --> 23:01.133
[SPEAKER_01]: And I love this.
23:01.173 --> 23:07.075
[SPEAKER_01]: Like Bethany was saying the song feels nostalgic and a lot of classic BTS song start with the chorus, right?
23:07.215 --> 23:09.156
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, kicks us all at the beginning with it.
23:09.676 --> 23:20.100
[SPEAKER_01]: So this does that same thing, but the chorus serves as a way of immediately throwing us into all the complex feelings of this song and sets the tone for the following rap verses.
23:20.180 --> 23:24.102
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what I like about it starting off and then we get into the first verse here.
23:24.842 --> 23:26.563
[SPEAKER_02]: It catches your ear right at the beginning.
23:26.663 --> 23:27.303
[SPEAKER_02]: Immediately.
23:28.784 --> 23:33.746
[SPEAKER_02]: So the first verse, it makes total sense that it's sugar who kicks off the song.
23:34.186 --> 23:39.949
[SPEAKER_02]: I feel like it is his song, so it just is fitting and who else is going to kick it off other than sugar.
23:40.729 --> 23:42.170
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm just going to read his verse.
23:42.390 --> 23:45.251
[SPEAKER_02]: So he says, baby, don't do me like that.
23:45.511 --> 23:47.752
[SPEAKER_02]: Such a long time has passed already.
23:48.353 --> 23:51.334
[SPEAKER_02]: After that day, that separated us, each other's stories.
23:51.734 --> 23:52.975
[SPEAKER_02]: Why don't we put those behind us?
23:54.235 --> 23:55.397
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry, I'm a little late.
23:55.817 --> 23:58.080
[SPEAKER_02]: You've been doing well without any troubles, right?
23:58.721 --> 24:02.846
[SPEAKER_02]: We starting again, let us never part away again.
24:04.047 --> 24:12.418
[SPEAKER_02]: And we do have to say that we got these from Dorset because this translation is a little bit different than what you'll see on genius and we just really trust Dorset.
24:13.098 --> 24:33.798
[SPEAKER_02]: But these lyrics right off the bat, like I just feel when you picture him coming to America to work on Audit on and in his verse for one of the very first ones that he's worked on he's saying so much time has passed already like after that day that separated us like we immediately can help but to be taken to
24:34.778 --> 24:37.300
[SPEAKER_02]: That's the 2022, that's where I go.
24:37.380 --> 24:44.546
[SPEAKER_02]: I just think that's when they were the most raw with us and open with us about maybe some of the struggles that they were coming across as a group.
24:44.946 --> 24:47.928
[SPEAKER_02]: All the same as pasts are about to go into military service.
24:48.529 --> 24:50.950
[SPEAKER_02]: They all have so much different musical styles.
24:50.990 --> 24:53.813
[SPEAKER_02]: They probably want to do some creativity on their own.
24:54.433 --> 24:55.294
[SPEAKER_02]: But here he's saying,
24:56.635 --> 25:01.779
[SPEAKER_02]: those things that day that separated us, each other's stories like can we just put those behind us?
25:01.819 --> 25:02.959
[SPEAKER_02]: Like let's move forward.
25:03.320 --> 25:07.563
[SPEAKER_02]: Not like totally forgetting it, but like so much time has passed already.
25:07.703 --> 25:09.104
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I think we can move on.
25:09.264 --> 25:10.885
[SPEAKER_02]: Like I think we can move past that.
25:11.826 --> 25:13.768
[SPEAKER_02]: I love that he says I'm sorry I'm a little late.
25:14.048 --> 25:29.361
[SPEAKER_02]: It just makes me too think of like him going and doing his service and like he literally dropped off the face of the earth like we didn't hear from him He was doing like a world tour or a US tour and then all of a sudden like boom gone Van is never to be seen again.
25:29.381 --> 25:35.747
[SPEAKER_01]: Well like also he was the last one out so he could be telling his members because they've all been out trying to like oh
25:36.147 --> 25:41.772
[SPEAKER_01]: Hold it down for BTS until they could start working on the album and, you know, he was, oh, sorry.
25:41.812 --> 25:43.913
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm late guys, like six months later.
25:43.933 --> 25:48.517
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he checks on them, like, hope you're doing well without any troubles, right?
25:48.597 --> 25:48.977
[SPEAKER_02]: Uh-huh.
25:49.217 --> 25:52.640
[SPEAKER_02]: We're starting again at let us never part ways again.
25:52.800 --> 25:58.285
[SPEAKER_02]: And like, we just think about you and Gise and they're going to be playing as BTS into their 60s.
25:58.325 --> 25:59.926
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, they're going to be doing this for a long time.
25:59.946 --> 26:00.206
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
26:01.567 --> 26:06.009
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is so him too being like you've been doing well without any troubles, right?
26:06.069 --> 26:11.511
[SPEAKER_01]: As if like not only did he follow us off the face of the earth with army, but also with his members.
26:11.551 --> 26:13.032
[SPEAKER_01]: Like he hasn't talked to anybody.
26:13.092 --> 26:21.195
[SPEAKER_01]: He's just been, you know, just going through day by day and just kind of in his own little world and now he's like reconnecting and
26:21.990 --> 26:29.257
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, good verse to kick us off, especially with just thinking about like coming back together.
26:29.277 --> 26:31.540
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like a message to his members.
26:31.800 --> 26:32.421
[SPEAKER_01]: I think so too.
26:32.461 --> 26:32.741
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
26:33.462 --> 26:44.173
[SPEAKER_01]: RM gets into the second verse and he says, knock knock knock on your door, my blood on the floor, just checking on your door, parentheses, what the hell am I doing this for?
26:44.673 --> 26:52.616
[SPEAKER_01]: You act like you're done with the past life, then you pass like dust in a flashlight, smoke in black night, we so dead, right?
26:53.017 --> 26:54.477
[SPEAKER_01]: But I hate metaphors.
26:55.398 --> 26:58.619
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just love these last two lines of like, we so dead, right?
26:58.639 --> 26:59.719
[SPEAKER_01]: But I hate metaphors.
26:59.960 --> 27:08.703
[SPEAKER_01]: They feel so sarcastic and biting, especially because this entire verse is talk full of metaphors, every single line is a metaphor.
27:09.504 --> 27:12.445
[SPEAKER_01]: Because of that, because of these sarcastic lines at the end,
27:13.025 --> 27:19.770
[SPEAKER_01]: The verse feels full of resentment, tired of being impassive about the issues that they need to face.
27:20.411 --> 27:27.076
[SPEAKER_01]: RM, like the visual of knocking on the door and having blood on the floor, makes me really think about knocking down someone's walls.
27:27.356 --> 27:35.983
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, knocking down somebody's walls that they've built up around them, blood on the floor, like I'm thinking like blood is what interior is your passion.
27:36.423 --> 27:41.387
[SPEAKER_01]: How much of himself he's spilling out to try to break down these walls and to
27:43.488 --> 27:48.612
[SPEAKER_01]: regain this, this connection here, then seeing a person on the other side.
27:48.732 --> 27:50.473
[SPEAKER_01]: Right, to reach a person on the other side.
27:50.773 --> 27:54.175
[SPEAKER_01]: And having like a little bit of that self-doubt like what the hell am I doing this for?
27:54.215 --> 27:55.876
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this is so hard.
27:56.296 --> 27:57.257
[SPEAKER_01]: We've gone through so much.
27:57.277 --> 28:02.060
[SPEAKER_01]: There's been so much time like that question of like, is this worth it, you know?
28:02.100 --> 28:06.262
[SPEAKER_01]: To be putting myself out there again, and going into this again.
28:06.643 --> 28:07.923
[SPEAKER_01]: But then he goes with like,
28:08.944 --> 28:23.251
[SPEAKER_01]: you act like you're done with the past life and this is so sarcastic too he's like you're not done you're not done with what we used to do you know that you're not like you're ready to keep going and but when it goes into like dust and a flashlight and smoke in a black night
28:24.471 --> 28:27.634
[SPEAKER_01]: representing how it's hard to see where they're going.
28:27.834 --> 28:32.178
[SPEAKER_01]: They know where they've been, but now that they're thinking about what they're going to do.
28:32.278 --> 28:33.679
[SPEAKER_01]: Think about when this song was made.
28:33.819 --> 28:36.522
[SPEAKER_01]: They're thinking about what they want to do with Auditong.
28:37.303 --> 28:40.085
[SPEAKER_01]: What direction do they want to take their music on this new album?
28:40.525 --> 28:41.166
[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to see.
28:41.386 --> 28:48.793
[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to know and they can feel a little bit lost in that floating through as they're trying to figure it out.
28:48.913 --> 28:50.975
[SPEAKER_01]: So figure out what that direction is.
28:51.595 --> 29:07.339
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think this is a verse of overall like breaking down those barriers that just time has created of coming back together and just figuring it out together, you know, working your way through that ambiguity as a team.
29:07.359 --> 29:21.282
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, as a team and the resilience in doing so, like I really do have the line of what the home I do in this for like right when you want to give up, you know, questioning what you're doing because you feel like you're making no progress or it seems like an impossible task.
29:21.702 --> 29:23.463
[SPEAKER_01]: And then getting right back into it after that.
29:23.503 --> 29:31.665
[SPEAKER_01]: Like that line being in the middle of us of that verse would be way different if it were at the end of the verse Right definitely show resilience.
29:32.425 --> 29:36.606
[SPEAKER_02]: His verse is so honest and I love it I love it.
29:36.787 --> 29:48.310
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so Jayhub's verse He says I knock on my heart as if I want the world to see right now life all makes up and confused just standing at the edge of a cliff
29:49.050 --> 29:51.812
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if I suffer in pain and cry again.
29:52.192 --> 29:52.713
[SPEAKER_02]: Can I?
29:53.413 --> 29:53.953
[SPEAKER_02]: Can I?
29:54.114 --> 29:55.214
[SPEAKER_02]: Like can I do that?
29:56.215 --> 29:58.036
[SPEAKER_02]: If it's for you, I don't mind anything.
29:58.476 --> 29:59.157
[SPEAKER_02]: My savior.
29:59.877 --> 30:03.860
[SPEAKER_02]: Even if it's so sharp that I get cut, that too is my page.
30:04.741 --> 30:05.881
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm past the pain.
30:06.182 --> 30:09.384
[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe this is the reason why I fought myself every day.
30:10.044 --> 30:11.105
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I rover.
30:11.125 --> 30:14.647
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a rover that has found the answer.
30:14.667 --> 30:15.307
[SPEAKER_02]: I row.
30:15.847 --> 30:16.668
[SPEAKER_02]: Can I come over?
30:16.688 --> 30:17.848
[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's not over.
30:18.749 --> 30:21.630
[SPEAKER_02]: And oh, there's just so much to unpack here.
30:21.830 --> 30:24.612
[SPEAKER_02]: Him starting off with, I knock on my heart.
30:25.952 --> 30:45.461
[SPEAKER_02]: really takes us to just the visual of Arsen and his heart being completely like charcoal burnt to the end and the knocking on his heart makes us really think of like he's like trying to like recestitate it like he's knocking on his heart to bring his passion back.
30:46.381 --> 30:54.647
[SPEAKER_02]: And him going in to like, I mean, Arson was all about just like working tirelessly and needing to just be done.
30:54.747 --> 30:57.769
[SPEAKER_02]: Like it's done, like I can't continue this.
30:57.789 --> 30:59.671
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't, I don't have anything else to give.
30:59.691 --> 31:00.531
[SPEAKER_01]: I've given my house all the way.
31:00.551 --> 31:01.452
[SPEAKER_01]: I have something else to give.
31:02.012 --> 31:18.136
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and he's even questioning like I don't care if I suffer and pay and pain and cry again like can I and he's basically saying like Yeah, like I'm past that pain now like maybe the reason I fought myself every day is like yeah, like It was worth it.
31:18.496 --> 31:23.297
[SPEAKER_02]: It was worth it in the end and he's like trying to find that passion within himself
31:24.397 --> 31:25.097
[SPEAKER_02]: and I love it.
31:25.577 --> 31:43.302
[SPEAKER_02]: I absolutely love this and the the saying my savior I think is I do think he's talking about both BTS and ARMY here because I feel like he's referred to ARMY as like a savior to him but his shoulders are so close to him so and I think in this particular song we mentioned so much about
31:43.902 --> 32:01.361
[SPEAKER_02]: This being the members coming together, and so it just feels like These are his brothers, you know, and so it's not like just coming back for himself or solo work or solo tour He's Resuscitating and reviving his heart for his members his seniors.
32:01.561 --> 32:02.482
[SPEAKER_01]: This is his reason
32:03.263 --> 32:04.824
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
32:04.844 --> 32:11.767
[SPEAKER_02]: I really love the end, too, of when he says, yeah, a rover that has found the answer I row.
32:12.208 --> 32:26.575
[SPEAKER_02]: And I just think of a rover on another planet that, like, with Stan's dust storms and unpredictable weather and, like, foreign land, only able to cover, like, short amounts of land within
32:27.435 --> 32:34.078
[SPEAKER_02]: a short period of time, but doing it for years and years and years, just in hope that you find that one piece of life.
32:34.578 --> 32:38.920
[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like so optimistic here and saying, a rover that has found the answer.
32:38.940 --> 32:44.343
[SPEAKER_02]: And it's very optimistic and that like, yeah, I found my passion again.
32:44.363 --> 32:49.665
[SPEAKER_02]: I found a way that we can continue as seven and come back as a group after all this time.
32:50.085 --> 32:50.745
[SPEAKER_02]: And I love it.
32:50.865 --> 32:53.587
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a fantastic verse to end the song.
32:54.847 --> 32:55.328
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
32:56.048 --> 32:56.989
[SPEAKER_01]: I so agree with you.
32:57.069 --> 33:08.700
[SPEAKER_01]: I think also I think about like him roving like on his tour all around You know, yeah, and I love that going all over on his own I think about it.
33:08.800 --> 33:16.708
[SPEAKER_02]: So check to like I just think about his energy, you know like that man never stops all energy level all over
33:18.209 --> 33:26.595
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so let's get into the chorus then, finally, because I feel like the chorus lends itself to the verses so much.
33:26.675 --> 33:34.500
[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, they go hand in hand here in this song, but the chorus to us kind of rounds out the whole meaning of the song.
33:34.620 --> 33:34.860
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
33:35.140 --> 33:35.421
[SPEAKER_01]: So...
33:36.441 --> 33:43.868
[SPEAKER_01]: In the chorus they say, when a hollow empty night comes, I call out to you again like this, yam lost, can I come over?
33:44.348 --> 33:45.670
[SPEAKER_01]: Yam lost, can I come over?
33:46.230 --> 33:47.912
[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to say, I'm sorry.
33:47.932 --> 33:50.334
[SPEAKER_01]: I just hate myself like this.
33:50.634 --> 33:52.115
[SPEAKER_01]: Yam lost, can I come over?
33:52.636 --> 33:54.077
[SPEAKER_01]: Yam lost, can I come over?
33:54.097 --> 34:02.385
[SPEAKER_01]: And then in the post chorus, you'll never love me like the way you did before, but would you open up if I knocked on your door?
34:04.186 --> 34:08.148
[SPEAKER_01]: So, that's a chorus, so freaking good.
34:08.328 --> 34:10.489
[SPEAKER_02]: It is so good, so let's unpack it.
34:11.510 --> 34:25.636
[SPEAKER_02]: Truly ever since 2022, Festa, we and BTS, I think, experienced so much trauma with just like inner band issues and COVID-19, and COVID times in general.
34:26.257 --> 34:30.919
[SPEAKER_02]: So, it maybe gives us a little tunnel vision on the songs and it's kind of,
34:31.419 --> 34:46.541
[SPEAKER_02]: we're there for all that and we've known the group for so long and so we just can't help it to hone in on that a little bit and it just makes us think of BTS to Army but also like just the message to the bandmates like I picture
34:47.903 --> 35:10.218
[SPEAKER_02]: someone even known for a long time and you've kind of gone your separate ways or like let's say you kind of Get a new group of friends that maybe like are little troubling or something like that and You find yourself in a really low place and You can't help but to go back to that person who's known you for so long and to just say like I'm lost I'm lost.
35:10.338 --> 35:12.819
[SPEAKER_02]: Can I come over like I just hate myself like this?
35:13.941 --> 35:17.777
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry for what I said, you're not like just feeling like
35:20.158 --> 35:27.581
[SPEAKER_02]: you've gone on without them and you just kind of realize that like, nah, like this, I need the people to know.
35:27.761 --> 35:28.761
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's not right.
35:29.561 --> 35:47.947
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly it feels like a coming home to like this best friend or you know, like this person that for whatever reason you drifted apart either through something you did or life events or both whatever, but like maybe even family is a better way to put it.
35:48.527 --> 35:54.611
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like there's a, it's kind of making it to, it's exactly what it is.
35:54.691 --> 35:56.532
[SPEAKER_01]: It's talking about an unbreakable bond.
35:56.732 --> 36:04.677
[SPEAKER_01]: It is a, I know that we have gone through so much and maybe I haven't been the best, but like, I really need you right now and like,
36:06.098 --> 36:09.179
[SPEAKER_01]: I think like even though it's would you open up if I knocked on your door?
36:09.219 --> 36:10.539
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like they know that they will.
36:10.659 --> 36:14.320
[SPEAKER_01]: You just have to ask when you just have to ask to be let back in.
36:14.340 --> 36:17.441
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, damn.
36:17.481 --> 36:19.022
[SPEAKER_01]: I like have full body here.
36:19.202 --> 36:20.442
[SPEAKER_01]: I know good bombs.
36:20.462 --> 36:20.842
[SPEAKER_01]: You know?
36:20.882 --> 36:28.044
[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's so I think that's why this song hits so hard for me because it's like I think about our friendship, you know?
36:28.544 --> 36:33.506
[SPEAKER_01]: We have gone through so many seasons of life together throughout our
36:36.778 --> 36:39.040
[SPEAKER_01]: 12 years of friendship.
36:39.180 --> 36:39.900
[SPEAKER_01]: 13 years of friendship.
36:41.041 --> 36:45.404
[SPEAKER_01]: It's been so different and so wonderful and beautiful.
36:45.624 --> 36:57.312
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just know that if we, just because of circumstances of life, if we went six months without talking to each other or something, I just know if I were going through a crisis,
36:57.992 --> 37:00.553
[SPEAKER_01]: you'd be the one that I would call and you would pick up.
37:00.853 --> 37:03.134
[SPEAKER_01]: And we would figure it out together, you know?
37:03.154 --> 37:05.154
[SPEAKER_01]: That's like, that's what this is.
37:05.195 --> 37:10.836
[SPEAKER_01]: That's talking about that type of deep bond friendship, familial bond, whatever.
37:10.856 --> 37:14.638
[SPEAKER_01]: That like you know this person is like you guys are tied together for life.
37:15.638 --> 37:27.868
[SPEAKER_01]: And I just think it's such a beautiful feeling, like the speaker in this song, you know, the members and the chorus are owning up to their mistakes and their faults, but wanting to reconcile.
37:28.529 --> 37:38.717
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's as if both parties, you know, everybody involved is wanting to reconcile, especially as we really feel like this is a BTS2 BTS song, like this song written,
37:39.437 --> 38:00.881
[SPEAKER_01]: by members for the members, and then finding a way to through all of this time, and all of their solo work and their disagreements about the English discography of if they were going to do songs or not, and you know, for them to come back together as a group with synergy and a soul focus in mind.
38:01.481 --> 38:25.299
[SPEAKER_01]: It really feels like they're declaring to each other that they want to come back together that they're excited, that they want to continue as a group despite all that they've gone through, and that they felt like so much time has passed since those difficult times, that now they have a united and common goal to once again be back together as a group, and that passion is re-agniting.
38:25.799 --> 38:33.501
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and I think with it being the chorus of them coming together, I think it really shows that they were all in the same place.
38:33.601 --> 38:40.662
[SPEAKER_02]: Like they were all eager to figure it out and continue on after all this time.
38:40.963 --> 38:43.923
[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, a declaring of wanting to be back together.
38:44.203 --> 38:45.964
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's comforting to know.
38:46.184 --> 38:46.484
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
38:47.664 --> 38:50.905
[SPEAKER_02]: I wish that the song would have made it onto the album, Dammit.
38:57.026 --> 39:00.927
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sorry is in this chorus really stand out.
39:01.407 --> 39:05.228
[SPEAKER_02]: It makes it feel like it's a BTS member to be a T.S.
39:05.268 --> 39:23.052
[SPEAKER_02]: member song like we've been saying it really confirms their e-gerness to Forget the challenges of the past and want to reconcile their relationship and move forward as like 2.0 BTS the future BTS I don't really feel like they're coming to say I'm sorry to army like they never really loved us.
39:23.112 --> 39:23.813
[SPEAKER_02]: They did it every day
39:25.973 --> 39:26.333
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
39:27.014 --> 39:31.956
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it feels like a member to member love and reconnection and rekindling.
39:31.976 --> 39:33.517
[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
39:33.537 --> 39:34.157
[SPEAKER_01]: I totally agree.
39:34.517 --> 39:43.982
[SPEAKER_01]: I also have to say if this were a BTS to army song, I think it would have been on the album and not as a hidden track.
39:44.022 --> 39:54.607
[SPEAKER_01]: Like we think about those two, three's microcosmos like those types of BTS uplifting army songs and talking about how much they love us songs
39:55.047 --> 39:57.528
[SPEAKER_01]: those are always on the album, you know?
39:57.908 --> 40:03.351
[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like in this album you could say that that's like into the sign or you know, something like that.
40:03.431 --> 40:09.854
[SPEAKER_01]: But I just feel like with it being a hidden track, it feels more honest and raw.
40:10.514 --> 40:13.756
[SPEAKER_01]: And I also just want to say like, don't leave me.
40:14.036 --> 40:15.157
[SPEAKER_01]: This song just makes you think about
40:24.541 --> 40:28.743
[SPEAKER_01]: It was the reason why BTS did not disband in 2018.
40:29.123 --> 40:34.445
[SPEAKER_01]: They had been thinking about disbanding because they had been going through such tough times.
40:34.465 --> 40:44.168
[SPEAKER_01]: They were so stressed, they were overworked, it was really, really weighing on them and they seriously were going to disband and then they wrote, don't leave me.
40:45.389 --> 40:48.873
[SPEAKER_01]: they recorded it, they listened to it in a room together and cried.
40:48.993 --> 40:53.178
[SPEAKER_01]: They all cried and then decided we don't want to be done.
40:53.198 --> 40:54.660
[SPEAKER_01]: We're not ready to be done.
40:55.060 --> 40:57.443
[SPEAKER_01]: We love each other and this project too much.
40:57.623 --> 40:59.746
[SPEAKER_01]: We can't walk away.
40:59.766 --> 41:02.729
[SPEAKER_01]: And like this one is like the...
41:03.270 --> 41:13.654
[SPEAKER_01]: Almost the opposite version of that like not the pleading of like please don't leave me, but the pleading of like Please come back to me like let's let's do this whole thing again.
41:13.674 --> 41:15.914
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I love that.
41:15.934 --> 41:21.576
[SPEAKER_01]: I love it so much I love don't leave me I love this song.
41:21.656 --> 41:27.098
[SPEAKER_01]: I love what this song can represent for The beat comes back to me, but can I come back to you?
41:27.118 --> 41:28.459
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I come back to
41:30.881 --> 41:35.392
[SPEAKER_02]: You're prompting it man like I this is why we do this.
41:35.592 --> 41:39.020
[SPEAKER_01]: This is true That's it is very true.
41:39.080 --> 41:39.882
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not even a
41:41.438 --> 41:41.999
[SPEAKER_01]: Come back to me.
41:42.039 --> 41:43.640
[SPEAKER_01]: It's can I come back to you.
41:44.420 --> 42:00.173
[SPEAKER_01]: It's can can we an asking for permission and hope it's amazing and apologizing and taking ownership and you know finding the common ground again and knowing like we have so much history here like we will always be connected
42:02.315 --> 42:03.376
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh it's so beautiful.
42:03.396 --> 42:05.258
[SPEAKER_02]: I love it so much.
42:05.358 --> 42:26.036
[SPEAKER_02]: It's one of these songs that like I just could not find a good quality version of it that I was struggling but after hearing it in concert and seeing it performed right in front of us like it was so intimate so special like we were on the side stage so like for them to be in a line just like singing the song right to us from row five
42:27.036 --> 42:35.859
[SPEAKER_02]: I absolutely have been listening with a song with a different lens and filter and I'm just like I love it and then getting into these lyrics.
42:35.899 --> 42:43.362
[SPEAKER_02]: I hadn't looked at the lyrics at all and I just am so sad that it's not on the album.
42:43.722 --> 42:45.083
[SPEAKER_02]: But it is.
42:45.143 --> 42:50.705
[SPEAKER_01]: And to perform in it just in a straight line like the power in
42:51.845 --> 43:00.908
[SPEAKER_01]: Just letting the song in the lyrics and the emotion speak for itself when they perform the song Nothing all the most I do is like sway sway their arms.
43:01.088 --> 43:02.488
[SPEAKER_01]: So we get our army bombs going.
43:02.508 --> 43:06.509
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like But the rest is just like just listen to this.
43:06.569 --> 43:16.712
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I love that If it is true like we believe through this analysis that this is a song that they wrote for each other I love that they're like
43:18.152 --> 43:33.826
[SPEAKER_01]: Taking the time to sing it in concert to sing it for each other in concert Like maybe it's not so much for us as it is for them For them and for them to like have that moment To soak it in and like to think about like why did we start all this again?
43:33.986 --> 43:39.131
[SPEAKER_02]: Isn't it right before we get into theirments to like their ending men?
43:39.171 --> 43:39.591
[SPEAKER_02]: Damn
43:42.974 --> 43:47.159
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it sits up the reflection time a little bit of reflection for them.
43:47.379 --> 43:49.401
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's beautiful.
43:50.041 --> 43:54.326
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, well, I'm glad we got to cover it here in this episode too.
43:54.846 --> 44:00.973
[SPEAKER_02]: It deserves its own time to really get into it because it is such a fantastic song.
44:01.393 --> 44:02.274
[SPEAKER_02]: Best hit in track.
44:03.295 --> 44:04.715
[SPEAKER_01]: Best hit and track of all time.
44:04.795 --> 44:05.096
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
44:05.796 --> 44:07.416
[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
44:09.397 --> 44:21.600
[SPEAKER_01]: We definitely would put some YouTube links in the description, but you know they'll be taken down in two days, so just go and click find the one that has the most views, because that one is probably the best quality.
44:22.180 --> 44:25.123
[SPEAKER_01]: and listen to it until it gets taken down, you have to find another one.
44:25.684 --> 44:27.906
[SPEAKER_01]: But we just love this song so much.
44:27.926 --> 44:32.691
[SPEAKER_01]: We hope that you guys enjoyed our deep dive about it.
44:33.152 --> 44:36.976
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you have any additional thoughts about come over that we didn't mention.
44:37.256 --> 44:38.016
[SPEAKER_01]: Let us know!
44:38.036 --> 44:48.280
[SPEAKER_01]: Let us know when you think about this song, tell us on the Spotify comments, tell us on our Instagram comments because we just adore this song so much and we'd love to hear you guys' thoughts.
44:48.360 --> 44:54.023
[SPEAKER_01]: So yes, of course you can find links for all of the things in the description.
44:54.323 --> 44:57.304
[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for listening and thanks for standing BTS.
