A Quick Note from the Tavern

Postmarked & Tipsy: Hi everyone, it's Cara. If you were looking for episode 21 this week and wondering where the hell we went, I wanted to pop into your podcast feed with a quick update. Jessica is very sick right now, and we're hoping her doctors can finally get some answers about what's making her so sick. So obviously, Postmarked in Tipsy is taking a little hiatus. There is no postmarked in Tipsy without Jessica and I sitting together at the tavern, drinking questionable cocktails. Attempting to read other people's handwriting and asking far too many questions about postcards that are more than a hundred years old. Right now, the only thing that matters is Jessica getting better. But I also don't want the tavern to go completely dark while she's away. So I've been cooking up a few things to keep us entertained in the meantime. I'm planning some little postmarked and tipsy field trips where I'll take vintage postcards back to the Rhode Island places pictured on them. Poke around, learn some things, and hopefully find some weird shit to bring home for Jessica and I to investigate later. I'm also putting together something I'm calling cold reads from the tavern. I'm going to recruit some of our listeners, give them the handwritten side of a postcard they've never seen before, put everyone on Zoom, and make them argue about what it says. No Googling, no research, no cheating. What could possibly go wrong? And everything I find while Jessica's away will go into what I'm calling the back to the tavern box. Postcards, mysteries, questions, questionable cold read conclusions, all of it. So when Jessica's feeling better and gets back to the tavern, I could put this box in front of her and say, So, while you were gone, I did some things. In the meantime, we have twenty episodes waiting for you if you haven't heard them all yet. And I'll keep finding ways for all of us to have a little fun together while we wait for Jessica. And if you're the praying type, the good vibes type, the send positive energy into the universe type, or you just want to raise a glass to her, we'd love all of it right now. We miss her.
