00:00:02.105 -->
00:00:04.793Hi and welcome to the Positioned Podcast.
00:00:04.793 -->
00:00:13.848I am your host, kimberly Knight, and today we are diving into part two of how my business made more money than ever last year.
00:00:13.848 -->
00:00:35.485If you haven't already listened to part one, please go do that now and I will leave a link for you in the show notes that you could click right on over and then come back to this one and I got to be real with you Last year wasn't about making more money, it was about making wiser, more faith-led, god-led decisions that allowed God to multiply what I was doing.
00:00:35.485 -->
00:00:37.987So in this episode I'm not going to gatekeep.
00:00:37.987 -->
00:00:50.180I'm going to share more that made a difference and hopefully you will find something that resonates with you so that you can like or share this broadcast with someone who's also growing their business and wants to do it the right way.
00:00:50.180 -->
00:00:51.021So let's get to it.
00:00:52.625 -->
00:00:59.023One of the things that I did last year on a whole different level was to give.
00:00:59.023 -->
00:01:03.948I gave on a whole different level last year.
00:01:03.948 -->
00:01:05.849Next level living.
00:01:05.849 -->
00:01:11.417Next level revenue requires next level sowing.
00:01:11.417 -->
00:01:24.546So since I received more, I gave more, and this principle has played out not only in my business but in my life and has been a major role in financial breakthrough, since we know we reap what we sow.
00:01:24.546 -->
00:01:26.081Only sow what you want to reap.
00:01:27.543 -->
00:01:35.751Another thing that I did that really helped me to make more money last year in my business than I ever did before was to take a stretch client.
00:01:35.751 -->
00:01:42.308Saying yes to that stretch client really was a game changer for me, and it required next level everything.
00:01:42.308 -->
00:01:58.552It stretched my capacity, it stretched my creativity, it stretched my skillset and there were skills that I already had but it took it to a whole other level and I had to tap in at a whole other level in order to really give this client my A game.
00:01:58.552 -->
00:02:02.971And sometimes that looks like discomfort at first.
00:02:02.971 -->
00:02:18.509Sometimes it was not comfortable Let me just be honest and there were times when I felt like I was in over my head and I was, but it was a good thing because it made me work hard and because it made me work harder and be more intentional.
00:02:18.509 -->
00:02:23.283It stretched me in ways that I will never be the same again.
00:02:23.283 -->
00:02:26.932This level of client is no longer a stretch client for me.
00:02:26.932 -->
00:02:28.365It's now my new norm.
00:02:28.365 -->
00:02:34.939They also paid me more than my normal client, so hallelujah Amen.
00:02:36.823 -->
00:02:47.450Another thing that really helped us raise our revenue last year was what I call MMA not mixed martial arts, but money-making activities.
00:02:47.450 -->
00:02:59.073So a lot of times, as entrepreneurs, we will do busy work we're never bored but it doesn't mean that it is producing or generating revenue.
00:02:59.073 -->
00:03:07.568So we have to be sure that our activities are focused on generating revenue and not just busy work and busy work is not always a bad thing.
00:03:07.568 -->
00:03:09.487I mean, there are some behind the scenes things.
00:03:09.487 -->
00:03:15.212There are some logistics in my business, as well as operations that need to be taken care of.
00:03:15.212 -->
00:03:17.609They don't necessarily need to be taken care of by me.
00:03:17.609 -->
00:03:19.145Some things can be automated.
00:03:19.145 -->
00:03:20.686Some things I had to hire out.
00:03:20.686 -->
00:03:22.866Some things I had the virtual assistant.
00:03:22.866 -->
00:03:24.383I talked about that in the last episode.
00:03:24.383 -->
00:03:26.508You've got to go back and listen to that last episode.
00:03:26.508 -->
00:03:28.252That was a game changer for me.
00:03:28.252 -->
00:03:38.173I'm getting the right tax preparer slash tax strategist Game changer for me Rather than just staying busy by doing my books or creating the PowerPoint.
00:03:38.272 -->
00:03:39.579The PowerPoint needed to be created.
00:03:39.579 -->
00:03:47.917It didn't need to be created by me, and some of you are listening to this and saying I don't yet have the revenue to pay all these people.
00:03:47.917 -->
00:03:51.932If you don't go and find yourself a college student, a high school student.
00:03:51.932 -->
00:03:55.019Come on, you do it on your level, and I talk about that.
00:03:55.019 -->
00:03:56.471Do it on your level.
00:03:56.471 -->
00:04:01.455I'm not asking you to have a whole division or a whole department and put somebody on salary.
00:04:01.455 -->
00:04:14.246Do it on your level If you cannot hire someone on salary.
00:04:14.265 -->
00:04:15.407I didn't hire someone as a full-timer or even a part-timer.
00:04:15.407 -->
00:04:18.889I took on persons who were doing gig jobs, or my virtual assistant, who I know, you know, who was a repeat performer and she's back this year and I'm so incredibly grateful.
00:04:18.889 -->
00:04:21.331Y'all will be hearing more about her because she is the hostess with the mostest.
00:04:21.331 -->
00:04:22.172I'm loving this girl.
00:04:22.172 -->
00:04:26.095So do it on your level where you can afford it.
00:04:26.095 -->
00:04:27.896But I am telling you it's going to be a game changer.
00:04:27.896 -->
00:04:34.341I have been doing PowerPoints for I don't know decades, I don't know Long, long, long, long, long time.
00:04:34.341 -->
00:04:43.365But this person I paid gave me a PowerPoint that, when I did the client presentation, they said, wow, this looks really great.
00:04:43.365 -->
00:04:53.437It was worth every dime, because the time I would have spent, the time I would have been spent, was spent in money-making activities that generated a higher income.
00:04:53.437 -->
00:04:55.524That really warranted my hiring.
00:04:55.524 -->
00:05:01.338This person pay for this person and gave me revenue above and beyond with my stretch client.
00:05:01.338 -->
00:05:04.048So do you see how all this is working together for my good?
00:05:04.048 -->
00:05:05.892Hallelujah, amen.
00:05:06.613 -->
00:05:19.365Another thing that we did last year yeah, okay, so this one was mainly me, but I chose life-giving conversations and protected my peace.
00:05:19.365 -->
00:05:27.274I'm going to say that again for the people in the back I chose life-giving conversations and protected my peace.
00:05:27.274 -->
00:05:31.855I was very intentional about where I invested my energy and my time.
00:05:31.855 -->
00:05:36.372Remember, there's a difference between spending your time and energy and investing your time and energy.
00:05:36.372 -->
00:05:38.521Go back to part one.
00:05:38.521 -->
00:05:41.168There's a difference between spending it and investing it.
00:05:41.168 -->
00:05:45.923Investing it multiplies, it increases.
00:05:45.923 -->
00:05:47.014There's a positive energy that comes from it.
00:05:47.014 -->
00:05:48.098There's something's a positive energy that comes from it.
00:05:48.098 -->
00:05:50.901There's something good, a benefit, that comes from it.
00:05:51.386 -->
00:06:01.781So if the conversations weren't going to lead to something positive, I'm not going around in circles.
00:06:01.781 -->
00:06:07.257I don't want to disturb my peace.
00:06:07.257 -->
00:06:09.788I don't want to disturb my peace.
00:06:09.788 -->
00:06:15.495I get inspired by progress and clarity, wisdom, mutual respect.
00:06:15.495 -->
00:06:19.079So if the conversations weren't leading in that direction, I cut them short.
00:06:19.079 -->
00:06:20.860And that doesn't mean I'm rude.
00:06:20.860 -->
00:06:25.982I wasn't rude or disrespectful or dishonoring.
00:06:25.982 -->
00:06:27.579I mean there were times I could have been a little sharp.
00:06:27.579 -->
00:06:39.533I have to admit that, and there were some times I had to apologize, and I do that because that's what I should do, but I also had to learn how to walk away with grace.
00:06:39.533 -->
00:06:42.166And that doesn't mean you need a big announcement.
00:06:42.166 -->
00:06:43.911That doesn't mean you need to put a post on Facebook.
00:06:43.932 -->
00:06:45.937Sometimes, protecting your peace means you don't have to tell anybody.
00:06:45.937 -->
00:06:49.127Sometimes, protecting your peace means you don't have to tell anybody.
00:06:49.127 -->
00:06:51.533You're protecting your peace, you just do it.
00:06:51.533 -->
00:07:10.079And an amazing thing happens when you protect your peace, not only are you investing your time, energy, effort and conversations into people and conversations that grow you, but it also leaves you margin for creativity.
00:07:10.079 -->
00:07:15.475Here's the interesting thing about protecting your peace this way as well.
00:07:15.475 -->
00:07:23.204Not only did it give me the margin to use my creativity now for money-making activities, it gave me the margin.
00:07:23.204 -->
00:07:24.165I needed that.
00:07:24.165 -->
00:07:39.952When something that wasn't positive came up, when something that was a challenge came up, when things didn't go my way, I had the capacity and the margin to deal with them on a whole other level, in a whole different way, because all of my energy had not been spent.
00:07:39.952 -->
00:07:46.130It had been invested, so that I had margin.
00:07:46.130 -->
00:07:54.985I had enough to now deal with the issue without having a complete come apart or even stopping my business flow.
00:07:54.985 -->
00:08:01.973So we had a much better, much more continuous flow of income because I had the margin now to deal with it.
00:08:02.800 -->
00:08:03.925Protect your peace, people.
00:08:03.925 -->
00:08:05.485It's not selfish.
00:08:05.485 -->
00:08:07.569Protecting your peace, people, it's not selfish.
00:08:07.569 -->
00:08:08.759Protecting your peace is strategic.
00:08:08.759 -->
00:08:12.406Again, I say hallelujah and amen.
00:08:12.406 -->
00:08:24.869Now here's something else, and I mean these are not traditionally the things that you would think of that increase your revenue, but I can tell you every last one of them worked, and here is one of those.
00:08:25.550 -->
00:08:26.833No is a complete sentence.
00:08:26.833 -->
00:08:30.841And here is one of those no is a complete sentence.
00:08:30.841 -->
00:08:37.501I said some no's last year that probably a year prior, not even probably, I know the year prior I said yes to, but every no is a yes somewhere else.
00:08:37.501 -->
00:08:39.866Every yes is a no somewhere else.
00:08:39.866 -->
00:08:42.352So you have to choose your yeses and no's.
00:08:42.352 -->
00:08:45.149The word says let your yay be yay and your nay be nay, right.
00:08:45.149 -->
00:08:55.172So I had to learn that saying no to things that weren't aligned for bigger opportunities for me was okay.
00:08:55.172 -->
00:09:05.625It's okay to say no to things that are not aligned to where you're going, and it may have been great and it's time, or it and it may be time to let it go.
00:09:05.625 -->
00:09:10.173So I had to say no to some certain things, and I'm okay with that.
00:09:11.722 -->
00:09:14.311And let me, let me just give a caveat to that.
00:09:14.311 -->
00:09:17.009I am not talking about being irresponsible.
00:09:17.009 -->
00:09:24.413I am not talking about just walking away from things and and not being integral with your word.
00:09:24.413 -->
00:09:29.201I'm not talking about that being integral with your word.
00:09:29.201 -->
00:09:30.102I'm not talking about that.
00:09:30.102 -->
00:09:32.629I am saying there are times when things you used to do you can't do them any longer.
00:09:32.629 -->
00:09:47.114But if that be the case, to the best of your ability, as much as it is within you, make sure that you do it responsibly, make sure that you do it with grace and wisdom, make sure that you are not leaving people just like in a lurch, like hope you make it.
00:09:47.114 -->
00:09:48.024That's not.
00:09:48.024 -->
00:09:49.799That's not what I'm talking about.
00:09:49.799 -->
00:09:52.447I'm talking about choosing how you invest that time.
00:09:52.827 -->
00:10:11.087Saying no to spending time with, with people, places and things, or in, even in organizations that no longer aligned with where I'm going and and they're either their ideology or, um, what they're moving into next just wasn't part of my new yes.
00:10:11.087 -->
00:10:18.966So here's another thing that I have to say, and I hadn't planned on saying this, but I guess somebody needs to hear it.
00:10:18.966 -->
00:10:33.052My husband has this, saying that just because they came with you doesn't mean they can go with you, and sometimes that means some things that have been a part of your past are not necessarily going to be a part of your future.
00:10:33.052 -->
00:10:36.707And it's not that anything is wrong or they did anything wrong.
00:10:36.707 -->
00:10:43.421It's just that you've grown in ways that no longer support those types of conversations and relationships, and that is okay.
00:10:43.421 -->
00:10:46.044Again, you don't have to make a big announcement.
00:10:46.044 -->
00:10:52.715You don't have to hurt that person's feelings or start posting on Facebook about how you're cutting people off.
00:10:52.715 -->
00:10:58.308You can go quietly, and sometimes it's not just cutting that person off.
00:10:58.308 -->
00:11:03.251Sometimes it's just spending less time or investing spending or investing.
00:11:03.251 -->
00:11:14.503You make the distinction spending or investing less time and energy in that particular relationship and sometimes those relationships come back and sometimes they don't, and I've had experience with both.
00:11:14.503 -->
00:11:18.297And if you want an episode on that, send me an email.
00:11:18.297 -->
00:11:20.702We'll get an episode on that, all right?
00:11:20.903 -->
00:11:31.067Last tip that helped me to make more money, increase our revenue exponentially last year, better than ever before, and on track to do even better this year.
00:11:31.067 -->
00:11:33.592Here's the last tip, and this is big.
00:11:33.592 -->
00:11:36.304This is so big that I think I'm going to do.
00:11:36.304 -->
00:11:47.303I think I'm actually going to host a class on this, I think, and if you would like that, please send me an email about this one Strategic planning Now.
00:11:47.303 -->
00:11:50.326For those of you who know me, please send me an email about this one Strategic planning Now.
00:11:50.346 -->
00:11:51.927For those of you who know me, I've always strategically planned.
00:11:51.927 -->
00:11:52.249That is not new.
00:11:52.249 -->
00:11:53.850I learned it as part of my.
00:11:53.850 -->
00:11:58.394It's part of my educational background, it is part of my professional background.
00:11:58.394 -->
00:12:02.197It is part of what I just love to do, naturally, and what I'm gifted to do.
00:12:02.197 -->
00:12:06.567But I planned at a whole different level this year.
00:12:06.567 -->
00:12:24.192The prophetic strategic planning session that I hosted in the beginning of last year set the tone for my entire year and I have to tell you that plan I took it to a whole new level and I also I got some help with that.
00:12:24.192 -->
00:12:29.567It's like a surgeon doesn't operate on themselves, so I got some backup on my plan.
00:12:29.700 -->
00:12:34.349What do you think of this plan From somebody who specializes in strategic planning as well?
00:12:34.349 -->
00:12:35.392What do you think of this plan?
00:12:35.392 -->
00:12:42.951And showed me my blind spots, and those blind spots were causing me to leave money on the table, with commas, y'all.
00:12:42.951 -->
00:12:49.172I'm going to say that again those blind spots, even though I'm good at what I do.
00:12:49.172 -->
00:12:56.264I am really good at strategic planning, and I'm not saying that out of pride.
00:12:56.264 -->
00:12:58.268I'm saying that because that's the grace that God has given me.
00:12:58.268 -->
00:13:04.405But this person showed me some blind spots that would have left money with commas on the table.
00:13:04.405 -->
00:13:13.671So I do think this year I am going to host something to help you all strategically plan.
00:13:13.811 -->
00:13:18.582I hosted one last January and everyone who attended has increased their revenue.
00:13:18.582 -->
00:13:23.933They increased their revenue, so I think I'll do that again.
00:13:23.933 -->
00:13:32.495If that's something you want to take part of, or you think I really should do that, why don't you drop me an email?
00:13:32.495 -->
00:13:38.469I'm going to put a link in the show notes about that as well, and stay tuned for more announcements in future episodes.
00:13:38.469 -->
00:13:44.062Again, I'm going to encourage you to go back and listen to part one, because there's some nuggets there that you don't want to miss.
00:13:44.062 -->
00:13:52.826Miss, because this could be the year that you have the same testimony that your business made more revenue than any other year prior to this one.
00:13:52.826 -->
00:14:01.225It was your best year yet Not ever but yet this was the first one of many, many, many more to come, so I want to hear from you.
00:14:01.225 -->
00:14:03.448Be sure to like, tag and share the broadcast.
00:14:03.448 -->
00:14:07.184Share it with friends who need to make some money, share it with friends who need to make some money.
00:14:07.184 -->
00:14:09.269Share it with friends who need to make some money too.
00:14:09.269 -->
00:14:12.394And until next time, be wonderfully blessed.
