Welcome to the Get Set! Podcast our FIRST CASTING DIRECTOR, (and an EMMY WINNER no less)... JAZZY COLLINS!!
Jazzy Collins is the first Black Primetime Emmy winner for Reality Casting for her work on the first season of Peacock's The Traitors, and was previously nominated for Amazon’s Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Girls. Jazzy’s other casting credits include 5 seasons for The Bachelor / Bachelorette franchise, Very Important People, Love Island USA, and over 40 other TV and feature projects across all genres!
On this episode Jazzy, dispels the rumors of the audition room, strips away the smoke and mirrors of the casting world, explains the hierarchy of titles in Casting within scripted and unscripted, who actors should reach out to to get on that casting office’s radar, how to green light the work you want to see, her best advice for those interested in a career in casting, and of course the whole experience of winning an Emmy!!
We also get into why and how she started her own production company, what she looks for in a project, and the filmmakers she likes to back, and the new feature she has in development, Jay Peg's Auto Mart.
Visit her company's website for all their production updates: Forcedperspective.tv and of course follow her on Instagram @JazzyCasting
