We are PJ & AJ Williams. Husband and wife podcasters, affectionately known as #TeamPanda. Our podcast takes is a TrueCrime and Travel podcast. We highlight victims that lost their lives tragically around the world in some exotic locations while on vacation. We also seamlessly infuse vacation/travel information about the locations and countries these tragedies occur as a way to encourage travel and to take away from subconcious apprehension of visitnig these great locations because of the tragic death we highlight.
Our listeners are people that love TrueCrime stories and also loce to travel/vaction aroudn the world.

► Why & how did you start this podcast?
We started this podcast because we thought we could bring a different perspective to the TrueCrime genre of podcasting. We identified the things we were passionate about which are TrueCrime and Travel. The we infused both into our show Tragedy in Paradise.
Initially we wanted to create a podcast that people like us would listen to. Something that highlighted to victims and their story.
We started our podcast in April 2021 and it took us about a week to release the podcast because we have a full recording and editing studio in our home for our other ventures. So it was an easy transition into podcasting.

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We find the time to do the podcast by utilizing good time management skills. We have regular careers and children, but we worked out a system to do research, write and record.
It usually takes us 2 days produce our podcast.
We find time to produce our podcast at night when we have quiet/down time. Fortunate, as we have stated before, we have a full recording studio at home.
We only spend money on hosting the podcast at a hosting site. All marketing and editing is done in-house at our production company. This podcast is completely funded by us for now.

► How does your podcasting process look like?
Our podcast process is simple. We research different stories, identify several that we are interested in showcasing, discuss and write our script/bullet points and then we record. After recording, we edit the next day and when we have reviewed the podcast for quality we publish on designated days. We use professional recording equipment and software. PJ was a musician/producer audio engineer and artist for years, so we have a full recording studio at home in which we utilize for or podcast, among other projects.
On this particular podcast we don't interview guest, however, we are working on another podcast that is more guest/interview centric. We will probably have people come into our studio to do the show and incorporate zoom or phone when necessary.

► How do you market your show?
We currently use social media to market our show because of our limited marketing budget. Our listeners find our show on all podcast listening platforms, ie: iTunes, Google, Spotify, etc... However, we promote out podcast on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media outlets.
We have full analytics access in regards to our podcast form our hosting and distribution partner for our podcast.
To be honest, our biggest marketing channel has been WOM (Word of mouth) and Facebook.

► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
My advice for anyone wanting to do a podcast is to be engaging. People get bored easily so ad elements to the podcast that keeps interest. Also probably the most important is to spend some time on the audio quality of your podcast. A podcast can be fun and riveting but is the audio quality is bad, people one want to continue listening.
