Our global listeners are eclectic souls who are intellectually curious and socially aware.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
Hosts are friends from college. Great convos over the years and we decided to press record! First episode released in June 2020. Our initial goal when we started February 2020 was to share differing perspectives on various topics info with other global thinkers.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
We release weekly and are in our 4th season (7 episodes + Vodcast each season). We have made time here and there - it's definitely not easy since we both have several entrepreneurial pursuits. Self funded until recently - we now have sponsors interested in the upcoming seasons. Approximately 10-15 hours weekly go into some aspect of the show, per host.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
Yes to sponsors! No to sharing revenue (NDA is place). Over 500 downloads monthly at the time of the first sponsor. Now over 1K monthly and still growing. Sponsors are finding us due to our IG presence; ranking sites like Listennotes.com, etc. Podcasting is a creative expression that benefits our learning - through collaboration with guests who are experts in their fields; and it helps our friendship because we are collaborating as friends and in professional way.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
We outsource producing. da i.ZZ creates our Headliner promos. We have a deep bench of dynamic and talented group of people we know that we can use as guest resources, among other options. We both are trained in research methodology which we employ for each episode. We use Squadcast and Zoom to record primarily.
► How do you market your show?
We are on all major players, and premium sites like Audible.com. Yes our host offers listener acquisition details, as does Spotify give various details. Apple is the primary source of our listeners (55%), then Spotify, Google, iHeart Radio and others.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
We have enjoy the PodFest academy and the many Podcast Facebook groups have 'how to' details and tips. Suggest new podcasters research the basics of to get started and then actually GET STARTED. Some of it is trial and error and no matter how much you attempt to prepare, there will be a learning curve. The key to a great podcast is great content! Find us at: pod.co/the-30-minute-podcast
