► Tell us about you and your podcast
In the late 1980's, before the time of mass access to the internet, HIV arrived in Australia and claimed the lives of many Australian young people, whose lives would be forgotten because there was not Social Media to chronicle their fabulous, howbeit shortened lives.
This project was to help preserve the memory of many of those young people, the Millennials of their day, who were abandoned by the broader community to HIV and AIDS.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
This has been a labour of love over years to interview the original sources and create a radio grade short-run podcast - timeless in its audience, compelling in its listening and rightly confronting to all good people who dare ask, 'How could this have been allowed to happen'.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
The project was created by a team of quite volunteers who gave their time and hearts to help do their part to remember the lives lost. Financial and professional guidance was supplied by the specialist financial services brand unusualrisks.com.au who exist to help people with HIV and other complex health needs get their life insurances sorted - stigma and discrimination free.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
This podcast is a gift to the community to put the record straight, to say it like is all in the hope we all can do better, do kinder and be the change we want to see in the world around us.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
Audio design and mastering was completed by a sound editor from the national broadcaster.
► How do you market your show?
We hope that good people will share this with their friends as we make no commercial return on this.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Telling the truth is rare, compelling and can even be personally confronting - and the gift that cust through the noise, we need to hear.
