► Tell us about you and your podcast
Danny and Aaron met at Panavision Woodland Hills, California back in 2008 during the writers strike and economic recession. After a few years working as freelance camera assistants and eventually operators Danny and Aaron decided to begin a podcast highlighting the unique talents and skills of the crew behind the scenes of movies and tv shows. Exploring the technical abilities of fellow craftspeople and appreciating their hobbies, side hustles and full blown small businesses is the primary purpose of the Scene Change podcast.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
We decided there was a lot changing in our industry and to keep up we noticed many of our friends and co-workers adapting by employing their various skills and passions to fill slow or inconsistent work opportunities with their own self-directed projects. Appreciating and highlighting these skills, passions and businesses became the directive for our podcast and the relationships and network that grows from sharing each other's stories and learning from one another keeps us motivated.

► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
Danny and Aaron used the available time in their freelance work schedules to book interviews and record in a little garage in Los Angeles. We both edit and produce our episodes along with Sarah Galley our producer. We are always looking for new partners and promotional opportunities to keep the mics on but currently we are a volunteer based organization.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
Danny and Aaron get a chance to connect with each other on a regular basis. We share with each other and our guests the concerns and hopes we have for the future of film and tv and use the podcast as an opportunity to network and appreciate the great crafts involved with the art of cinema.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
We sourced all of our sound equipment from BHPhotoVideo.com and recommend everyone starting a podcast purchase a few articulating arms because they really make a big difference. Starting our show with high quality equipment was a priority and we strive for the best recording quality possible even when resorting to the use of zoom or phone call interviews.
► How do you market your show?
Most of our listeners find us through our instagram page @SceneChangePod or our website SceneChangepod.podbean.com but we are available anywhere you find podcasts. We post regularly to instagram and also Recaps on Youtube for our 360 video content.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
Having a plan and consistent standards is the most important advice I can share. We chose to stick to a half hour format so we have the ability to keep our audience engaged no matter what our subject might be. We are always looking for ways to streamline our production process so we can use the recording time to be relaxed and flexible with confidence our standards and process will provide reliable results. We tell silly and bad jokes all the time but we try to stay positive and supportive no matter what.
