► Tell us about you and your podcast
I’m here to help you make money in real estate whether it’s by purchasing your 1st home or one of the many other real estate related industries. I am a subject matter expert in the home buying process (7 yrs or experience in underwriting and as a loan officer) so I break down a mortgage topic weekly . For everything else I introduce you to subject matter experts in everything from Airbnb, flipping houses, hotel ownership, starting a real estate tech firm, you name it.
This is for folks looking to figure out where to start in real estate.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I started this podcast after I had success on social media sharing 60 second videos. I figured the podcast was a way to provide more long form content for my community. Also to further build my brand as a subject matter expert in my field and talk to dope folks I probably wouldn't interact with otherwise.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I started where I was. I already had a computer so I purchased a microphone, web cam (I post my interviews on YouTube) and a tri-pod, I cost me about $200 all in. I film my episodes after work. I think if you've dedicated to your platform you'll find the time and money to start. Heck, just use the phone you're reading this on.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
My podcast is helping me educate my community, build further creditability and build a community as well. My goal is to make my platform the go to location for 1st time home buyer information. I know I have a way to go, but the goal is to get a little closer every day.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
My podcast process is pretty straight forward, I interview guests for about 30-45 minutes on Zoom and then also do a solo 10-15 min episode myself every week. The editing and posting clips to YouTube, Instagram and TikTok is the most time consuming part but those are the best ways to promote my podcast for free.
► How do you market your show?
I have a pretty decent following on Instagram so I post clips 2 to 3 times a week there. I am working more now on collaborating with other podcasters to help cross promote. I think this is the biggest growth hack. I have used other platforms to promote my podcast as well.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
The biggest thing is to just start, you can read all the articles and watch all the videos about podcasting you want but nothing will trump what you'll learn from doing. Also collaboration with others is key as well.
