► Tell us about you and your podcast
Based in the Greater Montreal area where many consider the city to be Canada’s little Europe, Catherine built her retreat business a decade ago from a blank canvas. Since, she has explored every aspect of the retreat world and has helped plan for thousands of guests from around the world their memorable retreat experiences, all while consulting retreat venue owners on getting licensed with the local hospitality authorities by staging and designing retreats for the highest-quality consumer experience down to the last spoon. Her business strategies have resulted in a successful turnaround for the venues, where 85% capacity and a minimum of 4.5-star guest reviews became the norm. After years of coaching retreat leaders on creating profitable and transformational experiences, she has decided to pivot her teachings online.
Her kind approach with colleagues and partners creates a welcoming atmosphere where creativity blossoms and professional growth is enriched. Her philosophy is based on the premise that only through empowering one’s community, one will reach great professional achievements and personal fulfillment.
Catherine talks with fellow experts about creating exclusive and successful retreats. Dive deep into the unique activities, the best destinations to visit, and the most uplifting trips that you can discover.

► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I have another podcast called StrippedBare FM, and I love the relationship it builds and the knowledge it spreads. Plus, I love broadcasting my shows on all platforms.
My goal is always to gain and spread helpful information that leads to a better outcome in transformation.
It's been about seven months I started this podcast.
I released my podcast within months of starting my new division with the same name called RetreatBoss.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
I release an episode every two weeks. I have a team that helps me with production, and it takes ten days to release it. This allocated time allows me to concentrate on the guest interview, which is between 30-45 minutes. I fund the podcast, and it costs about 110$ per episode.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
The sponsor is my company RetreatBoss. I make no money from the sponsor, nor do I charge for my time or costs to the guest.
I have about 80-100 downloads a month.
I am building a great network of business leaders. I am also gaining listeners and new clients thanks to the podcasts.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
I have a microphone and good lighting for equipment.
To prepare for the show, I ask the guest to answer a few questions before the show, including their online links and bio. I have my assistant place that on a pdf, and I read through it right before the show, which is all done on zoom.
► How do you market your show?
The listeners navigate back to my website to listen to the show. The syndicated show broadcasts across many channels for both audio and video.
I use Facebook, Instagram, and Linkedin to market the show.
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
1. Take a course and learn the basics even if you outsource production.
2. Prepare before the show.
3. Record in bulk, so it's done and doesn't become cumbersome.
I like Podcasters' paradise for courses and information.
