► Tell us about you and your podcast
My name is Gregg Weiner and my sometimes co-host is Imran Sheikh. My podcast is called The Gregg Weiner Podcast. I am an actor currently working on theatre in south Florida and considering the move to either NYC or LA once again. I have a radio background, and work on 104.3 The Shark and 102.7 The Beach here in Miami as a part-time radio personality. I've been on "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", "Magic City", "War Dogs", "Transporter 2", "Burn Notice" and more.
► Why & how did you start this podcast?
I have been podcasting for 4 months now and starting to pick up steam. I am aiming at comedy, honesty, and human insight I suppose. I have been a fan of talk radio since a child and it got me through and kept me company during some rough times in my life. I aim to return the favor; and hopefully with laughter.
► How'd you find the time and funding to do this podcast?
Currently I am unfunded. I podcast whenever I can find the time in the life-long juggle of 20 different jobs, but it's honestly my favorite because I'm my own boss.
► What do you gain from podcasting?
No sponsors yet. I am just starting out. That will come however - that's the end goal.
► How does your podcasting process look like?
My host is Zcast and they are incredible and extremely supportive. I use a Yeti Blue Pro into a small mixer and Mac Book. I use Skype for my cohost and my cell phone for calls. Pretty bare bones, but for now it works for exactly what I need. I use audacity to record and edit. Great program. If I have an idea for a bit, I write it down, and then fire up the system and do a show.
► How do you market your show?
I make sure the podcast is posted on as many podcatchers as I can including: iTunes, Google, Soundcloud, Listennotes, Laughable, Zcast.co, and I'm always adding more!
► What advice would you share with aspiring (new) podcasters?
I say start now and practice the craft as much as you can, and when it feels pointless,...KEEP GOING!!
